Jang Woojin

Han Gyeongsu

• Spared By Adaptation: Isak stops Nayeon from infecting him.

Lee Nayeon

• Spared By Adaptation: Gwinam doesn't kill her, so she manages to bring food to the group.

Kim Minji

• Spared By Adaptation: Coach Kang doesn't kill her.

Yoo Junseong

• Spared By Adaptation: He doesn't sacrifice himself to save Mijin.

Jung Minjae

• Best Friend: For Hari.
• Spared By Adaptation: Because he doesn't get separated from the group, he isn't killed by Gwinam.

Lee Cheongsan

• Ambiguously Bi: Loves On-jo but agreed to kiss Woo-jin before high school.
• Bittersweet Ending: While he manages to survive the outbreak, he loses the love of his life, Onjo.
• Spared by the Adaptation: After Namra dies, he becomes a hambie, which ensures his survival of the apocalypse.

Lee Suhyeok

• Death by Adaptation: He dies after being bitten by Gwinam.
• Reformed Bully: Towards the end of tenth grade, he stops being a bully and starts hanging out with Cheongsan and Gyeongsu.
• Secret Relationship: With Namra up until his death.

Choi Namra

• Death by Adaptation: Like Suhyeok, she dies after being bitten by Gwinam.
• Secret Relationship: With Suhyeok up until her death.
• Strict Parents Make Sneaky Kids: She starts dating Suhyeok while he's still a bully, and she loses her virginity to him - an antithesis to the reputation she has as a model student and as the daughter of a politician.
• Uptown Girl: The rich girl in the relationship who's out of Suhyeok's league (but not really)

Nam Onjo

• Death by Adaptation

Yang Daesu

• Death by Adaptation: Dies while holding off the zombies in the music room.

Seo Hyoryung

• Death by Adaptation: Dies to save Jimin.

Jang Hari

• Big Sister Instinct: Protects Woojin all his life. Notably, she kills cockroaches and other bugs for him, even after he learns to kill them himself. Is determined to keep him alive during the apocalypse.
• Death by Adaptation: Dies to save Woojin.

Park Mijin

• Death by Adaptation: Dies to save Joonyeong.

Other Characters

Assemblywoman Park Eunhee

• Outliving One's Offspring: Her daughter, Namra, died in the apocalypse.

Lieutenant Bae Gaeul

• Unlucky Extra: Though he's a little more than an extra, he sure feels unlucky to have been assigned the Hyosan High kids to look after - especially after Jimin makes that bombshell speech about how the military abandoned her and her friends.

Ilseong

• Rebel Leader: On a much smaller scale. He's the founder of the non-profit which will go against the military for abandoning the Hyosan High kids on the school's rooftop.
