General Papipoporo 'Rikka' Durrikka / Alien

Voiced by: Chiemi Tanaka

A colonel and ace pilot from space. She is currently on Earth, where she has crash-landed, manipulating the memories of those around her with a device disguised as a stuffed animal.

  • Alien Among Us: She is able to fairly convincingly blend in as a human by playing into the typical airheaded ditz archetype, along with some light brainwashing.
  • Alien Blood: Her blood is pink, which can be seen after Chiyo accidentally hits her with a shuriken.
  • Aliens Speaking English: Despite being from another planet, she speaks perfect Japanese.
  • Best Friend: While everyone in the group is very fond of each other, she and Chiyo are particularly close.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Rikka's "ribbons" are tendrils connected to her respiratory system, and she somehow survives in an oxygen atmosphere despite being chlorine based.
  • Cloudcuckoolanguage: Downplayed. Due to her being an alien with a different cultural background from the others, she sometimes comes of as weird when talking about government or other customs from her home planet.
  • Convenience Store Gift Shopping: Since she didn’t know that it was Chiyo's birthday, she gifts her an used eraser and convinces Chiyo with mind control that it was what she wanted most. She feels pretty guilty about it.
  • Fartillery: Her farts consist of chlorine gas which is potentially lethal to humans and was actually used in the fist World War as a chemical weapon. It reportedly smells like a mixture of pepper and pineapple, which Sekine comments on.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She usually wears her hair in two pigtails, but she sometimes let's it down, as seen during her and Tsuyoshi's trip to the theme park.
  • Great Gazoo: Her abilities include Regeneration, Mind Control, Time Travel and Reality Warping which she mostly uses for things like, turning back time so that Sekine gets an extra takoyaki, planting a device on Chiyo that turns every male she touches female or increasing gravity to help Tsuyoshi during Ninja training.
  • Human Aliens: She looks remarkably humanoid for and alien.
  • Iconic Item: She often carries with her a device, which looks like a stuffed bunny doll in the anime and a weird blob with antennas in the manga, that allows her to brainwash people, detect enemies and much more.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Since she is an alien, her friendship with Chiyo, Sekine and Tsubasa/Tsuyoshi falls under this trope.
  • Kiddie Kid: Subverted. She looks and acts very childish, but that is just a cover to hide the fact that she is an alien general.
  • Secret Identity Vocal Shift: When she isn't pretending to be a cute middle school girl her voice gets quite a bit deeper and a lot more serious. This only happens in the anime for obvious reasons.
  • Token Non-Human: She is the only one of the main cast who isn't human, but non-one except Sekine knows this.

    Chiyo

Chiyo / Former Ninja

Voiced by: Natsumi Murakami

A middle school student who is secretly a ninja.

  • Apology Gift: She gifts Tsuyoshi a ninja gear set as an apology for being too harsh on him, during their ninja training.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She is usually very laid-back, at least towards her friends, but when she gets mad she becomes terrifying.
  • Best Friend: While everyone in the group is very fond of each other, she and Rikka are particularly close.
  • Big Sister Instinct: When she and her brother where younger she was very protective over him, mostly because she wanted to protect his cuteness.
  • Blood-Splattered Warrior: Parodied. She sometimes appears covered in blood from dispatching a ninja from her former clan, but she plays it of as period blood which Rikka and Tsuyoshi believe.
  • Book Dumb: While she has a lot of aptitude in fighting and survival, her academic knowledge in things like math is abysmal, she doesn’t even know what’s the shape of the earth and she only passed the test, because the teaches allowed her to re-take it until she got a passing grade.
  • Cute Bruiser: She loves cuteness both on herself and others and, due to her ninja training, she is the physically strongest character in both the anime and manga.
  • Does Not Like Men: She has an inherent dislike for men and tends to be very aggressive and violent when interacting with them.
  • Intimate Hair Brushing: She loves doing her friends hair, though she unintentionally causes Tsuyoshi (mental) and Rikka (physical) pain while she does so.
  • Ojou: Parodied. She is presumed to be a typical sheltered rich girl by most, when in reality she is currently residing in a secret bunker and living off the land.
  • Never Had a Birthday Party: Due to her strict upbringing she never had her birthday celebrated, until her friends throw her a small impromptu birthday party.
  • Ninja: She grew up in a ninja clan and was raised to be an elite assassin, which she was very good at.
  • White Sheep: While she was raised to be a high ranking assassin, like the rest of her family, she has since renounced her family’s teachings and started to live a semi normal life, as an high school girl.
  • Willfully Weak: She holds back considerably when it comes to P.E, as there will be casualties if she doesn't.

    Sekine

Sekine / D-Class Psycic

Voiced by: Ayane Sakura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_little_lies_we_all_tell_sekine.jpg

A class committee member with excellent grades. She has psychic powers and can read the thoughts of other girls. She's the only one who knows the true identities of Rikka and Chiyo.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her hair changed quite a bit, when comparing to the cover of the manga, which is a very subdued almost gray brown, to that of the anime, which is a very saturated brown.
  • Air Guitar: She plays the air guitar in the intro of the anime.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: As the only one with an idea of what is going on with her friends, at least with Rikka and Chiyo, she is usually the one who keeps her friends from both getting in trouble and causing chaos.
  • Minor Living Alone: She has parents and a brother, but, since they are being held in a government facility, she is living on her own.
  • Old-Timey Bathing Suit: During the pool episode / chapter, she is seen wearing an old school bathing suit.
  • Power Limiter: Her glasses greatly reduced her psychic powers, which is why she rarely takes them of, as doing so can causes them to go out of control with quite destructive consequences.
  • Psychic Powers: Her abilities include mind reading and psychokinesis.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: She is aware of the fact that Rikka is an alien and Chiyo a ninja, both of whom do not know that she knows. She is unaware of Tsuyoshi's secret since her powers only work on those who have the same sex as herself.
  • Weight Woe: Whenever she uses the power Misstress Time, which allow her to use Telekinesis, she gains one kilogram for every minute that she uses her powers.

A crossdressing boy attending to an all-girls school. He was supposed to attend a boys' school, but when his twin sister finds out that her favorite male idol also attends there, she forces him to switch places with her.

  • Gender-Concealing Voice: He's voiced by a woman in the anime to make his female disguise all the more convincing.
  • Invisible Parents: He has parents, but they are seen very rarely and only in his memories in the manga and do not appear at all in the anime.
