    The Good Fraction

Avianna d'Amaer:

Avianna, affectionately known as "Avi" to her party, is a half-elf divination wizard and the leader of The Good Fraction. She is proud, rich, beautiful, and tragically gay. She's part of the Dragonmarked House Amaer, who specializes in investigation, and as such has special powers lending to her ability to perceive, insight, and investigate all kinds of things. Though she is socially awkward and, god, so paranoid, she deeply cares for her friends and her house.

  • Break the Haughty: Avi doesn't cry very often, but when she does it's always heartbreaking.
  • Insufferable Genius: She's easily the smartest (or was, pre-Mantle of Intellect) member of the group and yes, she does let them know.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: YMMV here but TGF might have flown under the hags' radar a little longer if Avi hadn't (inadvertently) stolen a spellbook from them.
  • Ship Tease: With any woman who walks by really but especially with Roa and Viva.
  • Shoot the Mage First: Especially this one, who's considered one of the bruisers of the team.
  • Squishy Wizard: Avi gets teased a lot for running away and staying out of melee distance in combat, but she has good reason...

Joren d'Ashenfoot:

Joren is a halfling life domain cleric of Boldrei and is the other Dragonmarked member of the party. He makes up one half of the Halfling Antics duo, with Rylan, and has an intense loyalty to the party as he considers them his community. A very physically communicative person, sometimes it's a bit hard to understand him, but his heart is always in the right place and one can always count on him to put others above his own needs... especially when it comes to money, much to his party's chagrin.

Prosperity "Perry" Pherali:

"Prosperity Pherali, Perry to m'friends!"

  • Apparently Powerless Puppetmaster: Perry's at various points acted to people like she's pretty Low in the Blackflower network... but she's closer than most. more power than the average stranger might guess.
  • Artful Dodger: Perry grew up on the streets of Hestfall.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: A genuinely good person, Perry is friendly and open to just about anyone they meet... up until you break their trust or hurt their loved ones. and if you kill them? you better run.
  • Cosmic Plaything: Perry's been told that the "gods are watching" them. just what is that supposed to mean?
  • Crazy Cat Lady: Perry doesn't OWN cats, per se, but the cats of Hestfall do know where they can get food whenever they're home.
  • The Face: They are the most outgoing of the party and are quite pretty—or handsome, depending on your pov and their mood that day
  • Rage Against the Heavens: Perry WOULD be the one to give the goddess of community a talking to with zero regard for the consequences...
  • Scarily Specific Story: One time Perry told a story about a Shadow Cat to Laefram that ended with the "cat tail" as Perry used her own tail to brush past him and scare him. He dove into the building and locked perry out with the supposed monster. Rude.
  • Shipper on Deck: Had an entire journal of "notes" every time Avi flirted with or got flirted with by a girl.
  • The Social Expert: Perry usually does the talking when it comes to convincing folks.

Rylan Silverleaf:

The youngest of the party (due to some Fey Wild Bullshit), Rylan is a ghostwise halfling horizon walker ranger (try saying that ten times fast) and the cinnamon roll of the group. Due to having spent the majority of his life in the Fey Wild after his village was destroyed, he's pretty clueless about a lot of stuff, but makes up for it with his innocence and absolute badassery. the other half of the Halfling Antics duo (with Joren) and usually the instigator, as he's fond of pranks. also his nifty ability to communicate telepathically makes keeping secrets from bad guys a lot easier.

Monotony "Mona" Impuda Khepriss'sera:

The eldest of the party, Mona was also the only evilly aligned character in the party. A mastermind rogue (and paladin of Boldrei!), Mona's also half-drow—a trait of hers that turned out to have significance when she learned that she was the long lost heir to House Khepriss'sera, a noble house in the Underdark. Mona is rude, blunt, and violent, and she's not necessarily a good person... but she loves her party more than anything, and is learning to love herself too.

  • Assassin Outclassin': Avianna's assassin discovered this the hard way.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: During her coronation/christening/reintroduction to the city of Alzharziban. an important moment, too—mingling with her people and trusting TGF to watch her back even though it was incredibly dangerous is what shifted Mona's alignment from Evil to Neutral.
  • Badass Cape: Mona's (or rather, Sa'Lia's) Cloak of Elvenkind.
  • Becoming the Mask: Originally, Mona had been a mole for the Big Bad of the first arc. that lasted right up until Rylan's Kill the Cutie moment (although honestly, she was leaning that way before that—it's hard not to get sucked into these guys' orbit).
  • Brutal Honesty: She can be a bit blunt. Ok, a lot blunt.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Known for this. ironically, didn't do this when they faced an actual dragon. she was too busy being terrified out of her mind.
  • The Chessmaster: Being a mastermind rogue, she has elements of this. it doesn't come out very often, but Mona is very good at manipulation.
  • Child of Two Worlds: Half-drow, half-upper world.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: With Rylan, though he doesn't need it.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Probably the most prolific example of this. Ric even named her "Monotony" for how deadpan she speaks.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Mona doesn't like the Dragonmarked houses that much, for good reason: corruption runs deep in Hestfall, especially in regards to House Woldhed. in fact, she has less patience for them, since they claim to be helping the "people" but only seem to be interested in keeping themselves, and the wealthy, in power and wealthy.
  • Faked Kidnapping: How the Equalizer was planning on pulling Mona into his operation during the Hestfall Kidnapping arc. Mona was willing to go along with it, but the remaining Good Fraction members had other ideas.
  • Glass Cannon: She has lowest hit point maximum in the party but oof, when that rogue crits—
  • Healing Hands: As of level 10, when she took a level in paladin.
  • Heel–Face Turn: When Adder ordered her to kill her party, Mona cut Avianna loose instead—even though doing so would trigger a punishment that could've killed her.
  • Important Hair Accessory: The only thing in her possession from before Hestfall was a gold hairclip with her House's emblem.
  • Ironic Nickname: Played with—"Monotony" was named for her monotonous tone. Mona's the nickname.
  • The Mole: Her original character arc within the party.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: It's a bit of a running gag that whenever Mona tries to do something nice or kind it tends to blow up in her face.
  • Only in It for the Money: Originally, at first. also invokes this when the Equalizer tries, unsuccessfully, to convince her to join him in his quest to uproot Hestfall.
  • Only Sane Man: Being the Team Mom, a lot of Mona's position in the party is just trying to keep everyone alive, from Avi's "ooh, books" moments to Rylan and Joren's Halfling Antics.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With everyone in The Good Fraction, but especially Perry and Joren.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Prone to this. notable ones include the final Fuck You to Mugroot and when she went off on Sylros for abandoning his family when they needed him.
"Kill them, and cement your place by my side forever."
