Iggy (Ignition)
"Okay Big Waste,what have you got for me now?"
The main character. A Citadel-born human Destruction Derby driver. He had never been outside of the citadel until he decided to take a delivery job as a courier for some excitement. His real name is Randall Gainsborough but prefers to go by his Derby pseudonym: Ignition or Iggy for short.
- Badass Driver: His defining skill. Is ranked number 4 Derby Driver in the known world. Heavily implied he could have been number 1 if he stayed in the citadel and continued to compete.
- Battle Harem: Obtains this over the course of the story. A Werewolf, Vampire and Android end up joining Iggy's side.
- Crippling Overspecialization: Through no real fault of his own, Iggy doesn't really have any skills that make him useful in the Big Waste. But he is really good at driving.
- Drives Like Crazy: Subverted. Iggy appears to do this as his driving style is high risk. But every move he makes is actually highly calculated and precise, allowing him to stay alive in situations where he really shouldn't.
- Machine Empathy: Huge undertones of this, you'd be forgiven thinking that his beloved Blockgain Chaser was the first member of his harem.
- Not in This for Your Revolution: Iggy is a pretty nice guy, but ultimately he doesn't care about the state of the world or helping the downtrodden. He is a fairly selfish thrill-seeker, who decided to take a dangerous job in the Waste out of boredom. His motivations from there are driven by lust, survival, and money.
