The Fairy Tail Guild

The Number One Wizards Guild in the Kingdom of Fiore. This is where Haru makes her home along with her brother and friends. Though the guild is known for getting results, the members also have a penchant for the careless destruction of property even when they're trying not to.

     In General

  • Badass Crew: They're not the number one guild in Fiore for nothing. The whole guild is filled with formidable wizards who, even though they often act silly with each other, get serious when the need arises.
  • Family of Choice: The entire guild treat each other as one big family, always looking out for one another and protecting each other when even one member is threatened.

Team Natsu

     Natsu Dragneel

Fairy Tail's Fire Dragon Slayer and one of their strongest wizards known as "Salamander", as well as Haru's adoptive older brother. He was raised by Igneel, a fire dragon who disappeared on July 7th of X777. Ever since, Natsu has been on a personal journey to find him and also defeat him in a fight.

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Natsu is more prone to showing his vulnerable side in this series, especially when it comes to Igneel.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Natsu is fiercely protective of Haru and is quick to lash out at anybody who hurts her.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He starts getting this way when the Tri-Men start to flirt with Lucy.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Natsu really hates it when boys try to flirt with Haru, even if- in Gray's case- they're not. One of the reasons he picks a fight with Gray is because he thinks the ice wizard is trying to flirt with Haru, and it doesn't help that Gray has a bad habit of taking his clothes off without knowing it.
  • Loving Bully: In the story, A Dragon's Heart, Natsu starts teasing Lucy due to developing a crush on her.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • In the story Adventure on Dragon Island, Natsu becomes depressed when it's the anniversary of the day Igneel disappeared to the point where he becomes despondent and wanders off to be alone. Thanks to a pep talk from Lucy, it doesn't last too long.
    • It happens again in the story Aftermath, which takes place after The Battle of Fairy Tail. Natsu becomes so worried about Haru during her Heroic BSoD that he doesn't want to get into one of his usual brawls with Gray, and when a plate of food is put in front of him, he pushes it away, claiming that he's not hungry. The latter alarms everyone since Natsu is ALWAYS hungry. Thankfully, he also gets better then, too.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Sometimes, Natsu's eyes will glow red when he's angered.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: He says this when Haru asks Lucy if she's his new girlfriend, which both are quick to deny.
Natsu: She's not my girlfriend! (he pauses) ...Are you?
    Lucy: NO!
  • Sibling Team: When he and Haru work together in battle, they're a force to be reckoned with.

     Haru Dragneel

Natsu's adopted younger sister, Haru is a Beast Wizard who uses magic songs to tame wild animals. Like her brother, she is one of Fairy Tail's strongest wizards, and her partner is her silver wolf, Blue Fang.

  • A Girl and Her X: Haru's best friend and fighting partner is her pet wolf, Blue Fang.
  • Action Girl: She's more than capable of holding her own in battle, as showcased in the first story of the series where she and Natsu take on a gang of bandits, and she even takes on the boss with Blue Fang's help. It is stated by Happy that Natsu was the one who taught her close combat skills.
  • Animal Lover: Haru really loves animals of all kinds, and they even love her in return.
  • Apologises a Lot: Is prone to doing this whenever she breaks something or makes a mess.
  • Badass Adorable: Haru isn't just a pretty face, she can kick some major butt while doing so.
  • The Beastmaster: Using her Beast Magic, Haru can tame and calm animals by signing magic songs.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Subverted with Haru. She takes some really bad beatings from Gajeel and gets an even worse one from Laxus, the latter beating her so badly that it hurt for her to even breathe.
  • Big Brother Worship:
    • Being her adoptive brother, Haru has loved and trusted Natsu since the day they met. In fact, it was Natsu who taught her martial arts skills when they were younger.
    • She also greatly respects Erza, seeing her as her older sister figure. However, she's not above speaking against her if she does something that she doesn't agree with, such as during the Galuna Arc, where both she and Gray call her out for not wanting to help the islanders.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She becomes very protective of Wendy after she meets her, seeing her as her little sister.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: She uses Natsu's line "I'm fired up" at least twice.
  • Break the Cutie: She goes through several of these in several arcs.
    • During the Phantom Lord Arc, she gets brutally beaten up by Gajeel and she comes back to see the destroyed guildhall that she called her home.
    • In the Tower of Heaven Arc, she goes through a temporary one when she thinks Natsu and Erza were killed after the tower was destroyed, but luckily, they came out alive.
    • After the Battle of Fairy Tail, she goes through a major depression that lasts for three days because she felt that she no longer belonged in Fairy Tail because she couldn't forgive Laxus, who beat her close to death prior to his expulsion.
  • Catchphrase: "Time to unleash the beast!"
  • Dark and Troubled Past: As a child, she was left to fend for herself in the forest and would get beaten by local villagers for stealing food. After a particularly tough day, Natsu finds her and accidentally frightens her into calling a ferocious bear. Both children attempt to fend off the bear, but in her attempt to do so, Haru is gravely injured, resulting in Natsu and Makarov bringing her back to the guildhall for treatment. Even in spite of that, though, Haru wasn't used to being around people and she would always bite anybody who got too close to her except for Natsu, who was the only one she felt safe around. Just when she's starting to get used to being in the guildhall, Laxus comes storming in after a job and starts having a bad attitude the moment he walks in, which ends up scaring Haru. It gets even worse when she sees him attempt to his sister, Elektra, who tried to get him to settle down only to end up arguing with him, more. In an attempt to protect her, Haru bites Laxus' ankle, causing him to retaliate by locking her up in a cage for 3 days, and all she can do is scream loudly until Natsu and the others finally come to let her out. Due to being locked up for so long, though, Haru attacks Natsu out of fear, but thankfully, he comforts her and reassures her that she's no longer alone, which causes her to break down in tears. After this, Haru is rehabilitated and then adopted by Natsu as his sister, and even renamed "Haru Dragneel".
  • Destructive Savior: Just like her brother and the rest of the guild, Haru has a tendency to get caught up in the heat of battle and can cause reckless property damage, which results in her losing a reward.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: While she was welcoming of Juvia, it was implied that she didn't forgive Gajeel so easily. She actually joined Jet and Droy in beating him up. It soon becomes subverted when she realizes that he has no intention of fighting back that she starts opening up to him, more.
    • This still gets played straight with Laxus, however, because out of everyone, she was the only one who was happy that he got expelled from the guild.
  • Happily Adopted: Haru is perfectly happy being Natsu's adopted younger sister.
  • Heroic BSoD: During the story, Aftermath, which takes place after the Battle of Fairy Tail Arc, Haru goes into this after Laxus' expulsion from the guild. She goes into such a deep depression that she just lies in bed for 3 days straight without eating a bite of food, which greatly worries Natsu and the rest of Fairy Tail. When she comes to the guildhall to turn in her letter of resignation, she reveals that she felt that she was the only one who couldn't forgive Laxus for the atrocities that he had done against the guild and was angry at everyone for giving him the send-off that he got. Thankfully, everyone understood why she was so heartbroken and reassured her that even if she couldn't forgive Laxus as quickly as the others, she will come to forgive him one day.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Good-natured as she is, Haru does have a tendency to be a bit too nosy and she might accidentally open up old wounds, such as when she asked Gray where he got his stripping habit from or when she asked Erza about where she got her scars. She also accidentally brought up Lisanna, who supposedly died 2 years ago, around Natsu, resulting in him lashing out at her. Thankfully, Haru knows when she's in the wrong and is quick to apologize if she thinks that she has offended someone.
  • Magic Music: Haru's Beast Siren spells allow her to either calm ferocious animals down or get them to obey her.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Haru also has a different spell where she can produce a powerful destructive soundwave.
  • Man Bites Man: When she was a feral child, she had a bad habit of biting people who got too close. She still maintains the habit even after her rehabilitation.
  • Not So Above It All: She often tries to stay out of Natsu's antics, but every once in a while, she'll end up joining in the usual guild brawl, anyway.
  • Parental Abandonment: Haru's parents were nowhere to be seen when she was a feral child. She doesn't even remember if she ever had any, for that matter.
  • "Reason You Suck" Speech: She really lays into Laxus during his attempt to take over Fairy Tail. Unfortunately, this ends up getting her brutally beaten by him.
  • Shipper on Deck: Haru once teased Natsu about having a crush on Lucy, but she really would like to see them get together, and she even starts doing the same for Gray and Juvia, Erza and Jellal, Romeo and Wendy, and Gajeel and Levy
  • Wild Child: When she was a child, Haru was left alone in the forest, causing her to turn feral. She would run around on all fours and make animalistic noises, would bite people if they got too close, and she couldn't speak coherently. It was only after Fairy Tail took her in that she began to learn how to act human again...though she still retains some animalistic habits, such as biting.

     Blue Fang

Haru's loyal silver wolf.

  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Downplayed. Blue Fang's fur is actually bluish-silver.
  • Balloon Belly: He's prone to eating so much that his stomach distends to comical levels.
  • Beast of Battle: Haru, as well as Natsu and the others, can ride on Blue Fang's back into battle.
  • Big Eater: Since he's a wolf, it makes sense that he eats a lot. However, there are times that he eats way too much and feels sick afterwards. Haru even lampshades this.
Haru: Honestly, between the two of you, Natsu, I can't decide who's the bigger pig: you or Blue Fang!
  • Big Friendly Dog: Big friendly 'wolf', but still, Blue Fang acts like a great big puppy most of the time...unless he's fighting or if Haru or any of his friends are in danger.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In Adventure on Dragon Island, Blue Fang is brainwashed by another Beast Wizard and is ordered to viciously maul Haru. It's only until Haru refuses to fight back and gets through to him by reminding him of when they met that he manages to fight off the mind-control.
  • Bond Creatures: Blue Fang isn't just Haru's fighting partner, but when in a desperate situation, Haru can link up her soul with his, causing them both to become more powerful and ferocious.
  • Canine Companion: He's Haru's constant companion and confidant, always by her side.
  • Canis Major: Blue Fang is a lot bigger than most wolves.
  • From Stray to Pet: Blue Fang was found by Haru and Natsu in the forest when he was a puppy. After much convincing, Makarov allowed him to stay.
  • Gentle Giant: Blue Fang is a very large wolf, but he's also very gentle.
  • Team Pet: He, as well as Apollo, a Canis Minor spirit that Lucy owns, count as this.
  • Urine Trouble: In the story, Adventure on Dragon Island, the first thing puppy Blue Fang does when he meets Gray is pee on his leg.

     Lucy Heartfilia

A Celestial Spirit Wizard who can use magical Gate Keys to summon spirits from the Celestial Realm. She is the debutante of the wealthy Heartfilia Family, but she ran away from home to join the Fairy Tail Guild.

  • Adaptational Badass: Lucy fights a little more often earlier on than she does in the main series.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Natsu often calls her "Luce" for short. At first, she thought it was strange, but she got used to it.
  • Cool Big Sis: She becomes something like this to Haru in the series.

     Happy

A talking blue cat and Natsu's best friend/sidekick.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Happy is a little bit nicer to Lucy than he is in canon, not that he ever disliked her, to begin with.
  • The Tease: He tends to tease Natsu and Lucy about being a couple.

     Gray Fullbuster

An Ice Wizard with the power to mold objects with ice. He's one of Haru's closest friends and Natsu's rival, and he also has a bad habit of stripping his clothes off without knowing.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He's a bit more welcoming of Juvia when she decides to join Fairy Tail. Granted, it's because in this series, she's a little more mellow than in canon.
  • Berserk Button: When Lyon stabbed Haru in the stomach with one of his swords and then belittled Ur's sacrifice, Gray decides that he's had enough and gives him a thorough beatdown.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Gray is just as protective of Haru as Natsu is, which was shown in the story, Breaking the Ice, where he protects Haru after she is injured by a gang of smugglers.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Though Gray claims that he hates Natsu's guts, he actually does care about him, saying that he sees him as his little brother.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Gray has to constantly tell this to Natsu whenever the Fire Dragon Slayer thinks that he's trying to flirt with Haru, which he really isn't.

     Erza Scarlet

The Second Strongest Female Wizard in Fairy Tail, she is known throughout Fiore as "The Fairy Queen Titania". She uses a special form of Requip Magic known as "The Knight", which allows her to change into different types of armor that will enhance her skills in battle.

  • Always Someone Better: In canon, Erza is the Strongest Female Wizard in Fairy Tail, but here, she's the Second Strongest, coming after Elektra Dreyar, Makarov's granddaughter and Laxus' younger twin sister.
  • Cool Big Sis: She's this for Haru, always making sure that things are fair for her and is always supportive of her.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Erza's body is covered with scars from her time as a slave in the Tower of Heaven, which is why she wears her armor all the time. After the battle with Jellal, she feels comfortable enough to wear more casual clothing and is unafraid to show her scars, now.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: In this series, Erza is deathly afraid of spiders. She freaks out at something that even looks like one.

     Wendy Marvell

A Sky Dragon Slayer who is capable of using support spells and Healing Magic. Wendy is currently the youngest member of the team, not counting Happy.

  • Combat Medic: She's capable of using Healing Magic, which can be used to heal her friends when they're injured in battle.
  • Everyone's Baby Sister: She's currently the youngest in the team, and everyone, especially Natsu and Haru treat her like a little sister.

     Carla

A talking white cat and Happy's current love interest. She's Wendy's self-proclaimed guardian.

  • Cats Are Mean: She's a little haughty and acts indifferent towards others, particularly at Happy, who doesn't stop trying to win her affections, nonetheless.

The Dreyar Family

     Makarov Dreyar

The 3rd Guildmaster of Fairy Tail and a member of the 10 Wizard Saints.

  • Cool Old Guy: He may be old, but he is still a very powerful wizard.
  • Papa Wolf: He sees all the members of his Fairy Tail as his family, so hurting even one of them is a surefire way to piss him off.

     Laxus Dreyar

Makarov's grandson, a Lightning Dragon Slayer and one of Fairy Tail's S-Class Wizards.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: He was already a jerk at the start of the original canon series, but when he first appears in the flashback story, The Stray Beast, he storms into the Guild with a bad attitude and he starts yelling at everybody, and then when he threatens to hit Elektra, Haru, who was a feral child back then, bites his ankle, which causes him to lock her up inside a cage. After what happened during the Battle of Fairy Tail, though, he truly comes to regret his actions.
  • Cain and Abel: He's the Cain to his sister Elektra's Abel. Laxus and Elektra used to get along when they were children, but as they grew older, the former cared more about power and wanted to prove he was better than everyone because he was tired of being in Makarov's shadow. When the Battle of Fairy Tail came around, Elektra attempted to talk sense into him, but when she refused to join his side, he attempted to kill her by shocking her through the head. After all was said and done, though, he came to regret the choices he made.
  • We Can Rule Together: He tries to do this to Elektra during the Battle of Fairy Tail, but it doesn't work.

     Elektra Dreyar
Makarov's granddaughter, Laxus' younger twin sister, and the Strongest Female Wizard in Fairy Tail. Elektra is known as "the Mother of Fairies" due to how she cared for Natsu and the other younger members of the guild.

  • Cain and Abel: She's the Abel to Laxus' Cain. They used to get along great as kids, but as they got older, they started growing distant from each other. It ends up coming to a head when the Battle of Fairy Tail came around. Elektra refused to join Laxus' side, so he attempts to kill her by shocking her through the head. Luckily, she survives, but is left very heartbroken about the fact that her own brother tried to kill her.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: She has a scar on her head from when Laxus struck her with his lightning.
  • Made of Iron: She's really tough and is able to take a lot of punishment. She was even able to survive a lightning strike to her head from her own brother, though not without getting a scar from it.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: Her Magnetism Magic allows her to attract and repel metal at will. She can even use it make armor around her arms or form a large metal shield for defense.
  • Mama Bear: Just like Makarov, she is prone to lashing out violently when her kids are threatened. She doesn't even let Laxus get away with it!
Elektra: I don't give a damn who you are! You may be my brother, but no one hurts my kids unless they're asking for a beating!
  • "Reason You Suck" Speech: She gives this to Laxus after she comes back from a job, which shuts him up after he gloats about being the strongest in Fairy Tail.
  • Team Mom: She's this to Team Natsu and the other younger members of Fairy Tail. She's even called "the Mother of Fairies" because of this.

Other Members

     Mirajane Strauss

The oldest of the Strauss Siblings, Mirajane was one of Fairy Tail's S-Class Wizards before a terrible accident forced her to retire from guild duties. Nowadays, she is the administrator of the guild, as well as the waitress and poster girl.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's a sweetheart most of the time, but get her angry enough and you will come to regret it.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She is very protective of Lucy and Haru, and especially of Elfman, seeing as how he's her only remaining sibling ever since what happened to her younger sister, Lisanna.
  • My Greatest Failure: She believes that her sister Lisanna's death (supposedly) is this.
  • Mythical Motifs: In her case, demons, and her primary Take Over is called Satan Soul. She is even called the She-Devil due to this.

     Elfman Strauss

Mirajane's younger brother. His magic, Beast Soul, is a type of Take Over Magic that allows him or parts of his body to transform into monsters or beasts.

  • Big Brother Instinct: He's this for Mirajane, even though he's younger than her, and he was once this to his sister, Lisanna.
    • He's even this for Haru, at times, but not as much as Natsu is.
  • My Greatest Failure: He accidentally killed his younger sister, Lisanna during a mission gone wrong... at least, that's what he believes.

     Juvia Lockser
A former member of Phantom Lord's Element 4, Juvia is a Water Wizard and Gray's love interest. She joined Fairy Tail after Phantom Lord disbanded.

  • Adaptational Nice Girl: She's a little mellower when it comes to her feelings with Gray compared to the canon series. She even treats Lucy with more courtesy than she did in the original.
  • Making a Splash: She can turn her body into water in order to defend herself from physical attacks and even hide objects and people inside of her.

     Gajeel Redfox

Another former member of Phantom Lord who joined Fairy Tail, though he claims it's because he didn't want to be out of work. He is an Iron Dragon Slayer and is known by his moniker "Black Steel" Gajeel. Unlike Natsu, he doesn't have any intention of finding the dragon who raised him.

  • Hidden Depths: He may look and act mean, but he actually has a thing for music. Too bad he actually sucks at singing.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's not a complete and total bully, despite how he acts at times. Levy is the first one to notice this after he protected her from Laxus.

     Cana Alberona

A Card Wizard and Fairy Tail's heaviest drinker.

  • Big Sister Instinct: Though not as often as the others do, Cana really does worry for Haru at times, especially after the Battle of Fairy Tail when she was very depressed for a while.

     Levy McGarden

A Solid Script Wizard and the de facto leader of Team Shadow Gear. She became one of Lucy's closest friends in the guild.

     Jet and Droy

Levy's teammates and childhood friends. Jet uses Speed Magic while Droy is a user of Plant Magic.

  • Those Two Guys: They're hardly ever seen apart, especially around Levy.

     Macao Conbolt

A Fire Wizard and a single father trying to raise his son, Romeo.

  • Those Two Guys: He's always seen with his drinking buddy, Wakaba Mine.
