Space Heroes
Leo's favorite show in the first season, which annoys his brothers to no end. In General
- Affectionate Parody: Of Star Trek. Specifically Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Animated Series.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: Each episode generally is a reference to an important plot point (i.e. Dr. Mindstrong getting taken over by a Cortexicon referencing a Kraang hijacking Metalhead).
- So Bad, It's Good: Implied in "It Came From the Depths.":Raph: (to Leo) You have to be the only person in the world who likes this show.
Leo: No way! There are millions of spaceniks out there.
Main Characters
Captain Ryan
Voiced by: Brian Bloom
Captain Ryan is the captain of the ship in Space Heroes, and is the main character of the show. He is Leonardo's role model, and Leo copies everything he does sometimes, such as saying his catchphrase.
- Anti-Role Model: Downplayed. Captan Ryan physically abuses his subordinates (usually with a slap when Crankshaw gets hysterical), lets them die needlessly and will often fire on opposing forces whether they come in peace or war. In spite of all of this, Leo looks up to him as the kind of hero he wants to be as leader of his team. Thankfully, he doesn't emulate him beyond quoting his corny one-liners.Leo: What a hero...
- Bad Boss:
- His go-too method in a mission, when it's not using excessive force, is to sacrifice new recruits needlessly. It's even lampshaded in one episode when he brings two Red Shirts along specifically so that they could get vaporized immediately after.
- On a minor note, a Running Gag involves him slapping Crankshaw when he gets hysterical.
- One time he categorically refuses to help a surface team that is being attacked by a monster despite the fact that they have no experience or weapons to handle the problem. He instead watches as the member that happens to be Mindstrong’s lover is eaten alive.
- Captain Ersatz: Of Captain Kirk. In Space Heroes: The Next Generation, he becomes one to Picard as well.
Crankshaw
Voiced by: Scott Menville
Captain Ryan's second-in-command.
- Butt-Monkey: His character exists to get slapped by Captain Ryan whenever he gets hysterical.
- Captain Ersatz: Of Pavel Chekov.
- His son Crankshaw Jr. of The Next Generation is one to Wesley Crusher.
Dr. Mindstrong
Voiced by: Ben Cross
An alien scientist
- Captain Ersatz: Of Spock.
- Unexplained Recovery: He was vaporized in one episode after being mind controlled only to return in a later one.

Super Robo Mecha Force Five!
An 80's anime show watched by the Turtles in the second season after Mikey discovered it among some old tapes he found in a dumpster. Its full title is Super Robo Mecha Force Five Team Five. In General
- Affectionate Parody: Of Combining Mecha anime, specifically the 1984 iteration of Voltron. In fact, references to early dubbed anime are pretty much present including poor lip-syncing.
- Ink-Suit Actor: Each of the show's principal characters is meant to be a parallel of each of the Turtles and April.

The show is based on the martial arts sensation and enemy of the Ninja Turtles, Rahzar, appearing in the 2012 TV series' fourth season as the Fugitoid's ship the Ulixes catches old television transmissions from Earth and then becoming the turtles new favorite TV show. In General
- Affectionate Parody: Of '70's and 80's Action Television, like Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos, Rambo: The Force of Freedom and The A-Team.
- Ironic Name: The show's Super Team name — 2 Ruff Crew — was around In-Universe long before the real Chris Bradford became Dogpound/Rahzar.
2 Ruff Krew
Chris Bradford

A metafictional version of Rahzar who serves as the show's protagonist.
