Heroes

    Echo

acrimoniousMagnificence (Echo/Mockingbird)

Name: Unknown
Alias(es): Echo, Mockingbird
Age: Unknown

"Defining character quote here."

A shell-shocked veteran hero with control over sound and vibration, given the name Echo when she was sent overseas to handle a growing metahuman situation. A calm and indifferent superhero on the surface, she's known for her experience and for her creative uses of her power. She works for the government as a prominent figure whenever metahuman related situations come up, and has been introduced as a part of Shore City's newest Meta-Villain Suppression Force.

Associated Tropes:

    Remiel

affluentAlignment (Remiel)

Name: Mateo Luciano
Alias(es): Remiel/"Rem"
Age: 20

"Defining character quote here."

A jovial young man and talented alchemist originally from Italy. Though he doesn't have the best English, he's more than proficient in using his magic and potions as a fly-by-night superhero, being renowned in his city for being both a huge goof and rather creative with his powers. He prefers to go by Remiel, but since he doesn't wear a disguise nor live a typical civilian life at all, most people just recognize him as Mateo.

Associated Tropes:

    Caliber

cognoscenteArbiter (Caliber)

Name: Anthony Harper
Alias(es): Caliber/"Callie"
Age: 26

"Kids these days..."

A real stickler for the rules and a stick in the mud for it, Anthony Harper's responsible to a fault, making up for what he lacks in backbone with moral fiber and work ethic. A normal officer serving alongside his academy buddy and partner Nathan Locke on the SPD, his life took a turn for the fantastic when in the course of a contraband trafficking bust the pair came into possession of a set of advanced mechanical exoskeletons, and after much deliberation (mostly on Anthony's part) they decided to put them to use for good. Donning the lighter of the armors Anthony fights crime as a cop by day and... fights more crime by night as the blade-wielding hero Caliber, nowadays struggling to balance his job and vigilante heroics, make sense of the strange world of metahumans he's stumbled into, and stay a beacon of sanity and reason— much easier said than done.

Associated Tropes:

    Dread

deadHunter (Dread)

Name: Trent Jones
Alias(es): Dread, "Ronald"
Age: 21

"Defining character quote here."

Information about this character goes here.

Associated Tropes:

    Morph

glovedVigilante (Morph)

Name: Keith Owens
Alias(es): Morph
Age: 24

"Defining character quote here."

An enthusiastic nightclub bartender and amateur rapper by day, and Shore City's matter-manipulating vigilante by night. After bonding with an alien consciousness residing in a glove inherited from his father, he decided to use his newly-gifted powers to take up crime-fighting under the mantle "Morph". Being a bit of an idealist, he always tries to put the best foot forward and look on the brighter side of things— right up until someone threatens his city; then he'll be found laying a beatdown of the nonverbal kind.

Associated Tropes:

  • Chick Magnet: Discounting his fans, he was able to attract the romantic attention from half of the main female cast of the RP.
  • Clingy Costume: Subverted. Keith realized he was able to take off Glove and does so on occasion; however, since he's so used to wearing it with him all the time, he simply chooses not to take it off.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Played with. Initially it was thought Keith's powers only resided within his glove because the alien consciousness was there; however, it turned out Glove's consciousness transferred from the article to Keith's own mind and altered his genetics to give him his powers, meaning he could use his powers without his glove on. Of course, he still wears it anyways because he's so used to having it on.
  • Iconic Item: His glove, Glove.
  • Unwanted Harem: Quite a few members of the female cast (not to mention Cassidy and Dr. Flux) are rather obsessed with him; it got to the point where he and Elektra chose to partially reveal their status as Official Couple as an attempted deterrent... which didn't do much for the few who tried to kiss him nevertheless nor Natie's aggressive (and increasingly provocative) pursuit of him, much to his chagrin.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Deconstructed: he started off the equivalent of an enthusiastic fanboy about the superhero life, if not acting with a truly idealistic viewpoint. As the story wore on and he received a lot of flak from his "teammates" for various reasons though, his views gradually changed until he broke down after the Becca-Natie Police Incident and nearly left Shore City entirely.

    Rosie

Associated Tropes:

  • Blow You Away: She was granted control over wind and air after the ritual that left a part of a goddess inhabiting her body when she was a baby.

Neutrals

    Tekno

teknoEnthusiast (Tekno)

Name: Deion "D" Kain Bronntes
Alias(es): Tekno/"Tek", Kain Thomas
Age: 25

"Defining character quote here."

A laidback Technopath mercenary who works as a "computer and network security specialist", and the relaxed, friendly twin brother of Elektra. Originally born and raised in Illinois, he and his sister arrived in Shore City over two years prior to the beginning of the story, and it was through him browsing the Internet that he stumbled upon the chatroom that led them towards the various meta residents within the city. Despite his choice in careers, he has sided more with the "heroes" over the villains— if only to "prevent the city he lives in from getting destroyed".

Associated Tropes:

  • Barrier Warrior: He has a tendency for using Beehive Barriers when in combat— many of his devices in fact utilize this ability to some level.
  • Big Little Brother: He's the younger twin out of the sibling duo, and is 6'2 to Elektra's 5'8.
  • Brother–Sister Team: This with fraternal twin sister Elektra.
  • Casual Danger Dialog: Notorious with this, along with Morph, Dread, and Remiel.
  • The Cracker: He operates his own freelancing business as a computer security expert on the side; his main career however is being a mercenary hacker extraordinaire.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Taken up to eleven with his powers— he can literally create any electronic device he wants out of thin air (though he requires a working blueprint of the device first, preventing anything too outlandish).
  • In-Series Nickname: "Tekno" to "Tek".
  • Meaningful Name: His name reference his powers, thanks to Family Theme Naming: "Deion" is a Greek name roughly meaning "of Zeus", while "Bronntes" is a variant of "Bronte" (thunder). Only his middle name "Kain" is the Odd One Out, along with "Thomas", the British spelling of "Tomas" (twins). It was deliberately chosen as it was the surname of his deceased stepfather.
  • Mellow Fellow: Played with. While he's certainly an easygoing person, he certainly isn't an Extreme Doormat either, asserting himself when he deems necessary. To boot, it's also a facade he puts on to divert everyone from how he's struggling to cope with his personal issues, and prevent them from worrying.
  • Nice Guy: Compared to certain (most) others in the chat, he's one of the most amiable people there.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Aside from Elektra (for obvious reasons), no one knows Tekno's real name, and thusly can't call him by anything but.
  • Private Military Contractors: He and his sister are both employed under such a business.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Elektra's red.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: The left-brained, technical, level-headed, and easygoing counterpart to Elektra.
  • Stepford Smiler: Tekno tries to appear as a "chill" kind of person, but upon learning his rather tragic history, it's clear that Beneath the Mask he's hiding a lot of issues.

    Elektra

tumultuousLevin (Elektra)

Name: Elysia "Lyse" Amber Bronntes
Alias(es): Elektra/"Lex"/"Lek", Amber Thomas
Age: 25

"Defining character quote here."

A cocky, abrasive mercenary with the ability to manipulate electricity, and Tekno's easily irritable older twin sister. After her brother's discovery of the chatroom, she investigated its appearance with him, leading both to their collision path with everyone else in the chat. Despite her hostile personality, she has shown a softer, more amiable side on occasion, and seems more firmly aligned with the "heroes", even though her actions— and words— may state otherwise.

Associated Tropes:

  • Action Girl
  • Boyish Short Hair: She's got a cropped pixie cut, and is an abrasive tomboy who usually dresses in essentially "street punk rock" clothing.
  • Break the Cutie: She's actually sweet and caring, but the inception of her powers and everyone's subsequent reactions to them was what caused her aggression and anger towards others. The Paris fiasco only left her scarred both physically and emotionally, and in even worse shape.
  • Break the Haughty: Her mother passing away early in the story from cancer causes her to become unstable and lash out— first in a verbal catfight against Molly, then in an actual physical fight with Morph, after which she breaks down emotionally. She gets better.
  • Brother–Sister Team: This with fraternal twin brother Tekno.
  • Dance Battler: She's learned dance for years and knows how to fight; she just learned to eventually combine the two.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Elektra" to "Lex/Lek".
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's a hugely aggressive bitch but she sides with the heroes for every single fight she's gotten in, and tries to not cause as much needless destruction as possible. Has been revealed to be more of a Hidden Heart of Gold since the Bridge-down arc and Took a Level in Kindness; she's actually quite nice Beneath the Mask.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Frequently, with the antics of Tekno, Morph, and Remiel.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch
  • Meaningful Name: Thanks to Family Theme Naming, her name is a reference to her powers. "Elysia" derives from "Elysium", the Greek equivalent of paradise, which can alternately mean "struck by lightning". "Bronntes" is a variant of "Bronte" (thunder), while her middle name "Amber" is associated with electricity. The only Odd One Out is her alias surname "Thomas", and that's the British spelling of "Tomas" (twins). It was also the surname of her deceased stepfather.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Since "Elektra" is the only name she's given out to the chat, no one there can really call her by her real name save for Morph, due to their Relationship Upgrade.
  • Private Military Contractors: She and her brother have worked as part of a special metahuman mercenary team for nearly six years now.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Tekno's blue.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: The right-brained, artistically-inclined, impulsive, and hostile counterpart to Tekno.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: Contrary to what you'd might expect with her normally "harsh" speaking tone and sharp tongue, her singing voice is a soaring, light soprano.
  • Stepford Snarker: Her hostility and terse behavior are a defense mechanism, and once you learn her Dark and Troubled Past, it becomes clear and understandable why she'd turn out the way she is today.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Her mother passing away from cancer, and later her growing relationship with Morph, causes her to soften up.
    • However, while she's not a total bitch anymore, she's still a very snarky, crude and unfiltered person nevertheless.
  • Theme Twin Naming: Elektra and Tekno's real names are references to the nature of their powers; alternatively, their In Series Nicknames "Tek" and "Lek".
  • When She Smiles: Though she rarely shows it around anyone else but Morph and Tekno, preferring her usual sneer.
  • Yellow Lightning, Blue Lightning: Averted— her "lightning" is white with a tinge of green.

She's inhabited by Tohil, an ancient god of war who's gifted her powers mirroring his own, namely pyrokinesis and summoning abilities.
