     Thistle's Group

General

  • Square Race, Round Class: Thistle, the gnome with a minion background, is the party's paladin. Grumph, a half-orc tavern owner, is the party's wizard. Eric, a town guard, is the party's rogue. Gabrielle, the mayor's daughter, is the party's barbarian.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Before starting their adventure, most were regular people. Thistle was a former minion. Grumph ran a tavern. Eric was a guard. Gabrielle was the mayor's daughter. These days, they've angered a king, a god, stole a dragon's treasure, and found out that their world is a game world.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Due to their odd party roles, folks tend to underestimate them. Such folks tend to get a big surprise.

Thistle

A gnome with a shady past, who is a follower of Grumble, the God of Minions. His beloved wife Madroria died years ago, and he longs to join her, although not if that involves letting his friends down.

Gabrielle

The daughter of a Klert, a minor noble of the kingdom of Solium and the mayor of the town of Maplebark. Gabrielle has inherited her father's kindness and stubbornness. Used to being kidnapped by the local goblins, Gabrielle has grown disillusioned with her role as a prim and proper lady, resulting in a lot of repressed anger.

  • Temperate Berserker: Gabrielle has issues early on when she develops a Hair-Trigger Temper as part of her becoming a Barbarian that causes her to nearly lash out at Eric during a simple training exercise. As the books go on, Gabrielle learns more about how a Barbarian's rage works, and she's recruited to become a Reaper for the god of death, Gabrielle begins putting greater focus into finding a balance between retaining her mind while still tapping into her Unstoppable Rage.

Eric

A town guard from Maplebark, assigned to protect Lady Gabrielle and often failing to keep her from being kidnapped by goblins. The son of a deceased paladin, he has grown up hearing stories of his father's glorious adventures from his mother. He has inherited his father's sword, which is still enchanted.

Grumph

A taciturn half-orc bartender, the owner of a tavern in Maplebark and a good friend to Thistle. Despite his appearance, he's shrewd and has an excellent memory for all sorts of recipes, which translates well into wizardly when he picks up a spellbook.
