A girl who used to live on a colony in space. She has a form of synesthesia, and she sees people in flavors. She recently moved to Earth.

• Calculus Is Arcane Knowledge: As shown in Episode 8, Amy takes senior-level advanced calculus classes as a sophomore. This is used to set up a lot of her intelligence later in the series.
• Character Development: She starts as completely naive (justified, as she’d never been on Earth before), but soon develops a more down to earth nature, and even some analytical skills, a lot of it due to her synesthesia.
• Color-Coded for Your Convenience: She wears a lot of yellow.
• Dreaming of Things to Come: Many of her dreams double as {{Foreshadowing.}}
• Girlish Pigtails: She wears her hair in pigtails.
• Good Is Not Dumb: When she goes to her senior level advanced calculus class, the teacher thinks she has the wrong class. She isn’t; she’s really good at math. She's also a fast thinker, shown when she survives her encounter with Saito.
• Good with Numbers: As said by the advanced calculus teacher, Amy's math scores are likely 99th percentile for her age group.
• Hope Bringer: She is able to help pull Oliver out of his existential crisis, and is also this to Cassie, in a way. She's able to help her come to grips with her past, and helps her not give in to her own Nothing as well.
• Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Despite the amount of stuff she goes through, Amy is still a hopeful, sweet person.
• Informed Attribute: She's told she has a slight accent, since she came from a space colony.
• Meaningful Name: Amy means "beloved."
• Minored In Ass Kicking: Whenever she is cornered, her self-defense instinct kicks in hard, as shown when she survived an attack from both an FCP drone and Victoria Saito, both of whom were aiming to (and very capable of) killing her.
• Nice Girl: She's really very sweet and friendly.
• Plucky Girl: Although sad when she moves to Earth, she's quick to go to school, and it doesn't take her long to begin making new friends.
• She Cleans Up Nicely: Shown when she's going to homecoming.
• Shell-Shocked Veteran: after Saito almost killed her she gets recurring nightmares.
• Tastes Like Purple: She was born with synesthesia, and sees people as having different flavors.

Flavor: None? (Orange with a hint of cinnamon)

A mysterious boy whom Amy becomes intrigued by, as he doesn't seem to have a "flavor." He is having an existential crisis and fears "The Nothing."

• Affectionate Nickname: His father used to call him "Space Boy."
• Big Damn Heroes: He is able to find Amy at homecoming before Saito can kill her.
• Break Her Heart to Save Her: Upon finding out that Amy is in danger due because of him, he ends their friendship suddenly and without giving a reason.
• Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Is the Brooding Boy to Amy's Gentle Girl.
• Character Development: Starts as being completely in his own head and anti-social. Due to Amy’s influence, he started to get better, but after breaking off their friendship, begins to slide back. However, it’s clear the effect is permanent.
• Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Wears blue a lot.
• Deadpan Snarker: Usually unintentionally, but he has his moments.
  Oliver: Your loose grasp on reality truly disturbs me.
• Defrosting Ice King: Due to Amy's influence, he begins to shake out of his existential crisis.
• Determinator: He is committed to finishing the mission no matter what happens.
• Ice King: He starts off as truly cold and detached from everyone around him.
• It's All About Me: Due to him being the only one who can finish the mission he wields a lot of influence over the FCP and he can get away with getting expelled from school all the time. He pulls a firealarm just because he is too inpatient to wait a few days until he can enter school again and talk to Amy. He got all the therapist treatment he needed and attention from many adults from an early age so he never felt the need to befriend Qiana (the only other kid at the FCP) even though she tried many times. In the current story he has even forgotten her name, totally oblivious to how much he hurt her.
• Mystical White Hair: He has white hair and is mysterious.
• Psychic Block Defense: when the The Wanderer cyclops alien tries and tries to Mind Control Oliver the alien gives up in the end because for each defense they breach Oliver has already built new tougher defenses.
• Remote Body: The Oliver on Earth turns out to be a robot; the real Oliver controls it from space.
• When He Smiles: Amy is stunned when she sees Oliver laugh for the first time.

Amy's best friend at school, she help her to come out of her shell and meet new people. In a relationship with David.

A member of Amy's new group of friends who clearly have a thing for her but found himself blocked by Amy's general obliviousness and his own insecurities.

Oliver's caretaker.

• Parental Substitute: To Oliver.
• Smart People Build Robots: He is the First Contact Project's main roboticist. He has created multiple sophisticated full-body prosthetics for Oliver, as well as the first robot to run entirely on simple carbohydrates and oxygen.

Qiana (Unmarked spoilers ahead!)

Flavor: Apple and plum tainted with copper and iodine

A teenager working as a FCP agent, as well as Amy's roommate.

• Big Brother Mentor: To Amy on how the FCP works and how to deal with her trauma and depression.
• Child Soldier: The FCP has been holding her prisoner since she was ten years old because she saw too much. They eventually conscript her as their agent at some point.
• Defrosting Ice Queen: Due to Amy's influence, she is able to make her first friend and work through some of her traumatic nightmares.
• Determinator: With the help of Saito she manages to grow up within the FCP and learn many skills to deal with her trauma, even on the bad days. She later passes those on to Amy.
• Shell-Shocked Veteran: She had to witness how the entire crew except Oliver died. Next her father got iced. At some point she had to become an agent and kill for the FCP. And recently she lost Saito, her caretaker.
• Stoic Woobie: She doesn't let Amy hug her, even though she really needs a hug when they meet. Her aloof demeanor hides a lot of pain.
• Teen Genius: She is Amy's age, yet she knows how to operate drones, hack firewalls, edit security footage, and more.
• Wise Beyond Their Years: She was forced into the awful dirty work of the FCP at a very young age, so she already acts like an adult even though she's still a teenager.

• Faux Affably Evil: His nice persona drops quickly when he chews off an agent who has failed him or even outright poisons said agent.

The Wanderer (Unmarked spoilers ahead!)

Flavor: Copper and Iodine

A mysterious appearance in Amy's dreams.

• Blue-and-Orange Morality: To him erasing traumatic memories from people's minds is a blessing and he does not understand why that would horrify them. He seems to have a higher motivation for what he does, but human notions of privacy and morality seem to play no role to him. In the distant past he brought about societal progress to an ancient civilization but in the present he is not interested in such a thing anymore.
• Body Surf: He has possessed many people over the millennia and it is unclear if he even has a physical body left.
• The Corrupter: He taints the flavour of everybody he manipulates with poison. He has poisoned the FCP.
• Hidden Villain: He first appears in Amy's dreams and seems to help her but turns out later to be pulling the strings of the FCP.
• Hidden Agenda Villain: It is unknown to the reader why he is so interested in the Artefact and willing to go to such great lengths to get it.
• Manipulative Bastard: He loves to manipulate people in their dreams and is controlling the FCP being the scenes.
• Parasitic Immortality: The Wanderer must possess the body of a human host, or else he will die within nine hours. He is known to have possessed Captain Putnam of the Arno and has attempted but failed to possess Oliver and Amy.
