The Galindo Cartel
Romero "Romeo" Parada
Played By: Danny Trejo
A high-ranking member of the Jose Galindo drug cartel, who has connections to Marcus Alvarez and the Mayans. Later revealed to be a CIA Agent.
- Affably Evil: For what it seems, he is genuinely polite and softspoken.
- Big Bad: Subverted. Nevertheless he's The Dragon to José Galindo, the head of the Cartel.
- Deus ex Machina / Diabolus ex Machina: At the last second, the revelation that he works for the CIA prevents the police from dismantling SAMCRO for good. However, his strong-arming forces Jax into continuing the gun deal and prevents him from killing Clay.
- Mole in Charge: Played With. He actually works for the CIA. But he is at the same time a high-ranking cartel member equally much. He is more of a Corrupt Cop who uses his position in CIA to strengthen his power.
- The Stoic: He never loses his cool, even when getting shot at.
- Villainous Rescue: When the Russians capture Jax and Opie, Romeo, Luis and Rivera turn up and save them.
Luis Torres
Played By: Benito Martinez
Romeo's second in command.
- The Dragon: To Romeo.
- Mole in Charge: He actually works for the CIA.
- Mouth of Sauron: He acts as Romeo's representative when he can't appear in person.
- Villainous Rescue: When the Russians capture Jax and Opie, Romeo, Luis and Rivera turn up and save them.
Santo Rivera
Played By: Senen Reyes
- Villainous Rescue: When the Russians capture Jax and Opie, Romeo, Luis and Rivera turn up and save them.
The Mayans
Marcus Álvarez
Played By: Emilio Rivera
The president of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, an Oakland-based rival motorcycle club that has allied itself with the white supremacist Nords in order to break SAMCRO's iron-fisted control over Charming. He and the Mayans are bitter rivals with the One-Niners gang, to whom SAMCRO supplies guns, thus resulting in an increasingly bitter rivalry with the Sons.
- Affably Evil: Whenever he is not having a beef with someone.
- Badass Biker: He's the Mayan president, which is not a position for wimps. Marcus shows little fear in desperate situations and is perfectly willing to stand on the front line with his troops.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Subverted; he does love his son, but he loves his criminal empire much more.
- Even Evil Has Standards: He's against making deals with rats. He says this to Jax after Juice tried bribing him with SAMCRO intel in exchange for safe passage to Mexico.Alvarez: Just for the record, even if we couldn't make a deal, I would've never made one with a rat.
- Hero of Another Story: He runs ones of what is apparently one of the top gangs in the area, holds a lot of influence, and is usually engaged not only in his dealings with the Sons, but also in ongoing turf wars with the Nords and the One-Niners. The man and his crew clearly have a full plate that the viewers only see a small portion of.
- Offing the Offspring: When his son Esai volunteers to lead the hit on Clay and Darby but fails, Marcus offers him up as a peace offering to the Sons. Happy kills him after Marcus says goodbye.
- Oh, Crap!: When he sees that Clay is sharing his cell, he briefly has a worried expression but quickly lapses into his badass ways and suggests they get down to business.
- Snake Talk: You may notice that he emphasises slightly on his "S"-sounds.
Esai Álvarez
Played By: Kevin Alejandro
A member of the Mayans Motorcycle Club and the son of Marcus Álvarez.
- Too Dumb to Live: His father considers his attempted hits on Clay and Darby to be bad planning and sloppy work and is willing to send him to be killed by Happy.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: Killed off in his sole appearance in Season 1 to demonstrate Marcus’ ruthlessness and the high stakes of the outlaw lifestyle.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: It's obvious he's eager to please his father.
