Humans
Astrodude
The human main protagonist. Ever since he was a kid he dreamed of going to space. When he finally got to accomplish that dream, he learns that the planets can talk, and it freaks him out.—-
- Got Volunteered: He's often forced to do missions that he otherwise wouldn't do, such as survive on the surface of Venus, terraform Mars, or find life on Titan.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: His name was never revealed. He was nicknamed "Dude" during the tests, and later "Astrodude" by the Solar System.
- Token Human: He's explicitly stated to be human and while there are other people, he's the only major recurring human of a series centered around Genius Loci.
Houston
Astrodude's boss who assigns him tasks to do in outer space.
- Bad Boss: He cares very little about Astrodude's well-being and often puts him in danger on missions, some of which he is completely aware of.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": He is frequently called "Houston" but has said that's not his real name.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: At times he has shown to care for Astrodude after all, like he sent a robot named "SAR" to rescue him while he was suffocating on Mars' atmosphere without a suit (as part of a test).
Astrodude's wife
Astrodude's wife who often checks in to make sure Astrodude is ok. She also provides helpful information to him through research.
Astrodude's son
Astrodude's son who is fascinated with outer space. He is frequently seen playing with a rocket ship.
Stars
Sun
"Do you know the best time to eat sushi?."
- Ax-Crazy: He is over-the-top insane and has fires solar flares at stuff without much care.
- Big Bad: He threatens to shoot solar flares at anyone who wishes to leave his orbit.
- Can't Take Criticism: He NEVER accepts any form of it, and if his thoughts and opinions are not agreed on, he becomes Ax-Crazy.
- Everyone Has Standards: He might be Ax-Crazy, but when the Earth heads towards him, he is very concerned and tries to talk him out of it.
- It's All About Me: He can be very self centered, such as in "The HEAVIEST Planet Is..." where he keeps the trophy for being the heaviest celestial body in the Solar System, when the contest was which planet it was.
Inner Planets
Mercury
- Butt-Monkey: Is constantly pushed around a lot by Venus or The Sun.
- Shrinking Violet: He is incredibly cowardly, considering his abuse from others.
- Talking Down the Suicidal: The episode “The Earth is heading to the SUN!?”, has him and The Moon try to talk Earth from committing suicide, which fortunately succeeds.
Venus
- Embarrassing First Name: When he learns the origin of his name from Astrodude (the Roman goddess of love and beauty), he is nothing but horrified, and the planets immediately tease him.
- Jerkass: He loves to torment the rest of the inner planets, namely Mercury.
- Samus Is a Girl: He is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty as stated above and is male. In Astrodude's son's dream, he is even portrayed as a girl due to this.
Earth
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Before his Character Development, he liked to gloat about having a moon unlike Mercury or Venus, and doesn't like to count Phobos and Deimos on Mars, but he is much more nicer compared to hot-headed Venus.
Mars
- Only Sane Man: Compared to the rest of the inner planets, Mars is the only one without any weird quirks.
Outer Planets
Jupiter
- Gentle Giant: Despite his large size, he is laid-back and supports the inner-planets by giving them advice.
- Dark Secret: Jupiter and Saturn both did something very bad in the past, in which the two gas giants regret and often feel guilty about it.
- The Smart Guy: He's the most intelligent of the planets. If someone who isn't Astrodude gives a space fact, then it's most likely him.
Saturn
- Has a Type: It is implied in "Who's THAT planet!?" that he is attracted to Eris.
- Manchild: Compared to Jupiter, Saturn is much more emotional and Prone to Tears.
Uranus
The seventh planet from the Sun.
Neptune
- Cloudcuckoolander: He's wacky to say the least.
- Go Mad from the Isolation: As seen in "Why is Neptune Missing” his odd traits such as his short-term memory was revealed to be caused by the insanity from loneliness for 165 years because of his orbit.
- Nice Guy: He might be a bit wacky, but he is one of the nicer planets who hasn't had any jerkish moments. He also remembers the names of all his moons and doesn't mind that they are rebelling against the planets.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The entire Moon Revolution arc happened because he wanted to know how Saturn got his rings.
Beyond Neptune
Planet X
Earthly moons

- Talking Down the Suicidal: The episode “The Earth is heading to the SUN!?”, has him and Mercury try to talk Earth from committing suicide, which fortunately succeeds.

- The Cutie: Along with Phobos he is small and easily excitable.
Jovian moons
Amalthea
Thebe
Io
- Friend to All Children: Neptune's small moons like hanging around him.
- Gasshole: Justified, as being the most geologically active body in the Solar System, and having volcanoes that release sulfur dioxide; he spits the stuff out when he gets into a coughing fit.
Europa
- Manipulative Bitch: Europa was able to convince the other moons of the solar system to join the moon revolution, by referencing to how the planets underestimate them.
Ganymede
- Everyone Has Standards: Despite his hatred towards how the planets treat the moons, when he sees that Jupiter isn't in the right state of mind when Europa chews him out, he calls her off.
- Jerkass: He misnames Phobos and Deimos, calls Dione by a pet-name in front of his own girlfriend - much to both her and Dione's dismay, and is overall just rude to his fellow moons.
- Rejected Apology: Even after the Earth apologized for his actions to Titan and to the other moons, both Ganymede and Europa still ordered the Moon to open fire.
Callisto
- Heel–Face Turn: She wasn't really evil in the first place, but she turns against Ganymede and Europa and protects the Earth along with Io.
