Heroes

    Shantae

Shantae, the Half-Genie Hero.

  • Calling the Old Man Out: She lets Mimic have it after she realizes that he told Bolo and Sky about the Elemental Stones (which her mother created) before telling her.
  • Stripperiffic: Harmony regards her outfit as... a bit much.
  • Sweet Tooth: She loves cinnamon rolls.
  • Vague Age: Averted. Shantae's age is never stated in the games, but is usually implied to be a young adult. Here, she starts the series at 18.
    Bolo

Bolo, the hopeless romantic.

  • Adaptational Intelligence: Both played straight and downplayed with him. He is still dumb like he is in the games, but now he has enough enough common sense not to give away the location of the Elemental Stone to Risky.
  • Hopeless Suitor: He has crushes on just about every girl he sees, including Risky Boots, Emma, and Harmony.
  • Vague Age: Averted. While never given a stated age in the games, here he starts out at 19, one year older than Shantae.

    Sky

Sky, the birdkeeper.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Played straight. Sky is much kinder and more understanding than her canon counterpart.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Can't find a lasting relationship.
  • Only Sane Man: Flips out at the absurdities going on and questions how nobody else is freaking out.
  • Vague Age: Averted. While never given a stated age in the games, here she starts out at 19, one year older than Shantae and the same age as Bolo.

    Rottytops

Rotty, the lively zombie.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Played straight. While still a prankster, Rotty is more self-aware of people's feelings and sensitivities.
  • Vague Age: Averted. Here she is established as being immortal. She mentally ages, but her body does not. So she is physically 19, but mentally 20 at the beginning of the story.

    Mimic

Mimic, Shantae's adopted uncle and guardian.

  • Parental Substitute: He is one to Shantae and is ever worried about her especially because of her dangerous occupation as Guardian Genie.

Others

    Spoiler Character: Harmony

Harmony, the lost Half-Genie.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: She normally doesn't makes her first appearance until the fifth game in the series, Seven Sirens, but she appears as early as chapter 3, which covers the first game.
  • Pet the Dog: She doesn't mind Bolo's crush on her.
  • Sweet Tooth: She loves the donuts that Emma gives her.

    Spoiler Character: Vera

Vera, seeking answers.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In canon, her first appearance is the fifth game in the series, Seven Sirens. She first appears in chapter 8, which retells the first and third game.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Calls out her own mother, Aja, for abandoning her as a child.
  • Sweet Tooth: As with all half-Genies, she likes sugary foods.

    Spoiler Character: Plink

Plink, the fake sister.

  • Fake Memories: Her entire existence is this to Harmony. In canon, she is a real person and is not Harmony's younger sister in the dream world.

    Emma (Chef Girl)

Emma, the aspiring chef.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: She and her dog Wobble Bell turn up in Chapter 5, which covers the first game, despite not appearing until Risky's Revenge.
  • An Odd Place to Sleep: She and Wobble Bell sleep on the floor on account of being too poor to afford that much.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She gives Harmony more food simply because Harmony is the first person to truly enjoy eating her food.
  • Genki Girl: She's pretty eager at the prospect of having her first customer showing up, and nearly overwhelms Harmony with her eccentric personality as a result.
  • Named by the Adaptation: She is never given an official name in the games, only being known as Chef Girl. Here is she named Emma.
  • Stepford Smiler: Despite her cheerful demeanor that she presents to Harmony, she is not as happy as she would like to appear.
  • Vague Age: Averted. In the games, she never has a stated age. The closest hint we get is her mentioning in Half-Genie Hero that she got kicked out of a cooking college. In Chapter 5, which covers the first game, she's stated to be 17.

    Holly Lingerbean

Holly, the memory girl.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: She and her worm Wilbur appear in Chapter 6, in a flashback, despite not making her debut in the games until present day in Half-Genie Hero.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she retains some narcissistic traits her original counterpart had, she has a soft spot for kids and is willing to help one out with her math problems.

    Risky Boots

Risky Boots, the misguided pirate.

Villains

The Voice / Jack aka The Pirate Master

The Voice that everyone fears.

  • Domestic Abuse: His treatment of Risky is similar to typical domestic abuse.
  • The Dreaded: He's not called the voice everyone fears for nothing.
