    Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose aka Spartan B-312

The Hero and main point of view character in the story.
  • Adaptational Badass: On both sides of the crossover, no less! She has far more training and combat experience than canon!Ruby had before starting her education at Beacon, while also having powers and abilities that canon! Noble Six never possessed.
    • Case in point: Ruby kills off the entire elite team that canonically kills Noble Six and still has the strength left to go on a fairly long hike afterwards.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Ruby's preferences are never exposited in canon, since they aren't relevant to her character arc. Here, she'leabian, and makes a pass at a female Army Trooper. She's an equal-opportunity flirt, though, and makes a pass at Jorge.
  • Born Lucky: Weiss outright states that Ruby must be the luckiest person alive since she survives so many absurd stunts. Ruby denies it, saying that goes to MCPO John-117 (who canonically is held above Noble Six entirely due to luck).
  • Drives Like Crazy: Everyone thinks this about her. Yang is somewhat jealous, though, that Ruby can drive at all, mostly because Yang doesn't have a driver's license (which she defends on the grounds of cars being too expensive). Somehow, though, she's still better than Kat.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Ruby has been fighting for years before returning to Remnant, with the last battle she fought in being ''The Fall of Reach'. By this point, she's probably on the level of Winter or Qrow in terms of fighting ability.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Ruby is much more foul mouthed in the story than she is in canon.
  • The Mentor: To the rest of her team - Ruby makes a point of teaching them to work together and smoothing out their flaws so that they can be the best huntresses they could hope to be.
  • The Nicknamer: Ruby tends to nickname most of her friends, to the annoyance of both Team _WBY and Noble Team.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Downplayed, but Ruby clearly has issues from her involvement in the human covenant war.
  • Sinister Scythe: Eventually gets a High Calibur Sniper Scythe like in canon. Here, though, she names it Noble Rose after her former team.
  • Stranger in a Familiar Land: Downplayed, but Ruby has lost some of her heritage due to spending years in hte Halo universe. She forgets why most Hunters prefer to make their own weapons, for example.
  • Super-Soldier: Taken up to eleven - Ruby not only received all of the enhancements that regular Spartan-IIIs received, but also several unique to herself. Given that Remnant humans are already leagues and bounds above those from Earth and her colonies, Super-Soldier is putting things mildly.
  • The Tease: Ruby is a more muted version, as while she doesn't show off her body much, she is very flirtatious - she even tries to hit on Jorge, to the latter's embarrassment.
    Weiss Schnee

Weiss Schnee

The second in command of Team RWBY.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Due to Ruby's actions, Weiss warms up to her teammates much quicker than she did in canon.
  • Foil: To Ruby, but with a few extra differences from canon due to the nature of the crossover.
    • Weiss is a publicly known heiress who wishes for her actions to be known so that she can erase the stain on her family name her father made. Ruby has had most of her actions covered up because they were of questionable ethics.
    • In a reversal from canon, Weiss is somewhat immature and childish when things don't go her way, while Ruby is more levelheaded due to her experiences with fighting the Covenant.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Gets a strong reaction from Ruby due to calling the girl a brute at one point. After she sees Ruby's recordings of Reach, she understands why the reaction was so strong.
  • These Hands Have Killed: Accidentally kills a thief in Menagerie. She's very broken up about it afterward.
