Kent Honda
- Depending on the Artist: Despite differing between stories, Kent's design stays somewhat consistent, as he's meant to be a dull, introverted protagonist.
- Loser Protagonist: He is an introvert who at the start of the story ends up bullied by extroverts and any first girlfriend he has dumps him until he meets Mary Toyota.
- Ridiculously Average Guy: He even self-describes as dull in every single one of his introductions.
Mary Toyota
- Class Princess: Stories set in high school depict her as "the school's madonna".
- Depending on the Artist: Exaggerated; Mary's portrayal between stories is so inconsistent she might as well be a bunch of different female characters who happen to share her same full name.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: She mainly exists to liven Kent's life in every story she's in, especially if his previous girlfriend dumped him.
- Second Love: In stories where Kent is dumped by his previous girlfriend, Mary will be cast as a prettier, more loyal replacement and more often than not, will be the one who tells off the ex for hurting Kent.
- Yandere: Some stories cast her in the role of a yandere, willing to kill anybody who goes near Kent.
