The Characters of Rogue Stormers.

     The Stormers

The Rogue Stormers in general

  • It's Personal: Each Stormer has a personal reason why they want von Garg dead.

Wolfgang Albrecht von Eisenbeiss, "Brecht"

The founder of the Rogue Stormers and their designated leader. He is the only Stormer initially available. His "Iron Wolf" passive gives him +10 max health, +20% healing efficiency, +20% secondary weapon durability, as well as 250 gold and one key to start with.

  • Crusading Widower: As if getting mutated into a werewolf wasn't bad enough, Brecht also lost his wife.
  • The Good Captain: His subtitle is "Stalwart Captain", after all. He's the former captain of the town guard and considered a man of the people.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Losing his wife and good looks along with much of the city to von Garg has made Brecht a gruff and bitter man, but no less determined to do what is right.
  • Jack of All Stats: Has an easy-to-use primary weapon, gets more health out of pickups and his secondary weapons last longer, making him a good character to learn the game with.
  • Meaningful Name: Incredibly. For Wolfgang: He's a werewolf, and he's on a path... of justice! Albrecht is a combination of words meaning "noble" and "bright" or "famous". There's also his surname of Eisenbeiss, which could be loosely translated as "iron bite".
  • Mutant
  • More Dakka: Brecht's primary weapon is a rapid-fire "Motorgun".
  • It's Personal: Brecht has a personal grudge with von Garg for mutating him.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: The motif even extends to his armor, with a shoulder pad fashioned in the shape of a wolf's head and his engine, which has curved spikes on it so that it resembles bristling fur. It's even designated the "RS-1 Wolf".
  • Special Attack: Lunacy, which greatly increases the whole team's fire rate for a short time. It also grants them Piercing shots, which the in-game description fails to mention.

Gandolfe Acufene Rombo, "Presto"

Formerly Ravensdale's greatest Opera singer, until the orcs burned down the opera house- and his audience. Now he's joined the Stormers to exact his revenge. Presto is unlocked after completing stage 2. His "Massive Diva" passive gives him +30 max health and 500 starting gold.

  • Big Fun: He's quite portly, and much beloved by his public. What's left of them anyway.
  • The Big Guy: Has the highest starting health of any Stormer, and a shield ability.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Effective use of Presto requires knowing when to activate his shield special, or else he'll get hit much more often then Brecht or the long-ranged characters.
  • Kill It with Fire: Presto's weapon of choice is the "Red-Hot Performinator", a flamethrower.
  • It's Personal: Not only did the orcs take away his livelihood and his fans, they had the unmitigated gall to call his singing "noise".
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Presto is capable of creating bullet-stopping shields by singing.
  • Meaningful Name: Gandolfe is a variation on a Lombard name that can mean "battle". More amusingly, Acufene is the Italian word for tinnitus. Rombo can mean "roar," "rumble", or "thunder."
  • Special Attack: Blazing Aria, which puts up a temporary shield and supercharges his flamethrower for a short time, doubling it's normally very short range.
  • Pyromaniac: His subtitle is the "Operatic Arsonist." His bio claims "something died" in him the night the opera house burned, and now he revels in giving the orcs taste of fire in return.
  • Warrior Poet: Seems to enjoy singing for the patrons of the Good-Guy Bar when not burning orcs.

Camille Gaspard

Formerly an alchemist in the city's employ and tasked by von Garg with studying the Goop, she fell prey to an arranged laboratory accident that transmuted her body into an amorphous, ooze-like creature. She joined the Stormers in the hopes of bringing von Garg to justice, and hopefully finding a cure to her condition. Camille is unlocked after completing stage four. Her "Slippery Goo" passive gives her a 60% increased grace period, and 250 gold and 1 key to start with.

  • Cute Monster Girl
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Camille suffers from a very low initial fire-rate. This can be offset by perks, upgrades, or simply using her Special Attack. Her passive also flat-out means she will get hurt less often. Decreasing her ability's Cool Down time is advisable.
  • Glass Cannon: Camille starts with only 50 base health but has a long-range weapon that can inflict Splash Damage.
  • It's Personal: Has similar grudge against von Garg to Brecht.
  • Meaningful Name: The name Camille is descended from a latin term for the attendants of priests and priestesses. Camille once worked in the employ of von Garg, the high priest of Ravendale. Gaspard is more of a stretch, as it means "treasurer". Camille was tasked on Goop research, a substance "treasured" by von Garg and his cronies.
  • Sickly Green Glow: Her armor's backpack is fitted with several large transparent canisters containing... well, her.
  • Shy Girl: Noted by her introductory article, where she was so shy that she hid herself in an empty beer cask in anticipation of an interview.
  • Slime Girl: Notably, she is only capable of maintaining human form while wearing her Stormer armor. Her gooiness also apparently grants her a longer Mercy Invincibility period.
  • Special Attack: "Probe Ejector Malfunction", which fires a swarm of mini-rockets at a targeted location.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Her weapon of choice is the "Explosive Probe Ejector", a rocket launcher.

Abigail Arling, "Stabbygale"

A former barmaid who witnessed her fiancee torn apart and her bar destroyed by orcs. She went insane, grabbed the barkeep's shotgun and took it on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge. When slivers of sanity returned to her, she joined up with the Rogue Stormers to murder more orcs. She is unlocked after completing stage six. Her "In Your Face" passive gives her the ability to release explosions when damaged, +10 max health, +20% movement speed and 500 starting gold.

Don Ernesto Hernandes, "El Cazador"

A mysterious gentleman mercenary who has appeared in Ravensdale at dawn of its fall from grace, seemingly hoping to profit from von Garg's impending demise. He is unlocked after beating the seventh and final stage. His "Death from Above" passive gives him a Double Jump, .65 seconds of hover time and 2 keys.

     Von Garg's forces

Hector von Garg

The obnoxious, cruel and extremely corpulent self-appointed ruler of Ravensdale following the execution of the twin duchesses.

The Devouring Beguiler

  • Animalistic Abomination: Resembles a giant, pissed-off angler fish.
  • Body Horror: von Garg's seemingly lifeless body becomes the end of it's angler.
  • Beam Spam
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: While the entire game was building up to the fight with von Garg, the Beguiler is a complete surprise to a first-time player.
  • Man Bites Man: It'll try to bite you if you stand in front of it for too long, taking off a whole 20 health- equal only to the goblin suicide bombers or getting hit by a sky mine.
  • True Final Boss: Acts as the second phase of the von Garg fight.
  • Walking Spoiler

Ubertinker Bernhardt Kranz

Baron Niklas von Schreyer

Morkenrav, Enslaved Herald of Vori'thel

The Mouse Panzer

  • BFG: Its main gun is huge, and fires arcing bombs with shark faces painted on them.
  • Gatling Good: Has several mounted gatling turrets.
  • Grenade Launcher: Has several, which can launch a spread of gas grenades.
  • Military Mashup Machine: An enormous, multi-turreted tank perched atop a single, central tread pod.
  • Shockwave Stomp: It can jump, and send out damaging blasts in either direction when it lands.
  • Shout-Out: Possibly to Metal Slug, given the configuration of its gatling turrets, its ability to jump, and the word "Slug" scrawled on the side plating.
  • Tank Goodness

     Other characters

Sayetta of the Scale:

A reporter for "The Inner Voice" who wrote interview pieces with each of the Stormers.

Harald Kreischmann

  • Propaganda Machine: He writes the self-congratulatory reports about Von Garg's "holy" new war-machines to the public and tries to paint the Stormers as heretics and terrorists.
  • The Unseen

Vori'Thel

An elder goddess imprisoned under the deepest ruins beneath the city by von Garg, whose blood, the Goop, was leeched and used to power his wunderwaffen.
