Robot Chicken staff:
Seth Green
- Voiced by: Himself
The show's egotistical creator.
- Adam Westing: Seth plays himself, with a massively inflated ego.
- Boom, Headshot!: He is shot in the head. More than once.
- Rousing Speech: Gives one to the recurring characters in "Beginning Season Five".
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: After the show gets cancelled for the first time, he has the chance to go back in time and undo the event that caused it (a bucket of green paint falling over Keith Crofford).
- Shoot the Dog: In "Robot Chicken Telethon", he threatens to shoot a puppy if people don't start calling to donate money in two minutes. Senreich shoots the puppy anyway, so he brings a backup monkey (which Senreich also shoots).
- Vengeful Ghost: Comes back as a vengeful zombie in "Seth's Revenge", after Senreich kills him and takes over the show.
Matthew Senreich
- Voiced by: Himself
The show's second banana to Seth, and moderately more sane.
- Adam Westing: Plays a ditzy, psychotic version of himself.
- Ax-Crazy: At least two season finales have ended with him killing everyone.
- Bad Acting: Let's say... he's a better writer than voice actor.
- The Ditz: Occasionally. He goes on a shooting rampage in the Telethon when he was supposed to only shoot the puppy if nobody called. And he goes "Wow!" when reading it on his cellphone screen before realizing it's upside down and it actually reads "Mom".
- Klingon Promotion: Becomes showrunner after killing Seth in "Seth's Revenge", which prompts him to come back for revenge.
- The Lancer: And no one will let him forget it.
- Leeroy Jenkins: In "Robot Chicken Telethon", he shoots the puppy before Seth is done talking. Then he shoots the backup monkey too.
- Refuge in Audacity: When cornered by Seth's and other zombies, he shows them his contract and demands they allow him to write new sketches instead of being killed. It works.
- Self-Deprecation: Lots of jokes are made about him being less famous than Seth.
- When Seth is killed in "Beginning Season Five", he cries that he will tell Seth's story. When he is also killed, Daniel says that he will also tell Seth's story, because "it has more commercial value" than Matt's.
- The Saturday Night Live opening parody credits him as "Matthew Sandwich".
- Trigger-Happy: After shooting the puppy in the telethon, he also shoots the backup monkey and eventually everyone else present including Seth. His excuse is that his finger slipped every time.
Doug Goldstein
- Voiced by: Himself.
The shows co-head writer. Gets possibly even less respect than Matt.
- Insistent Terminology: Always introduced as "Co-head writer Doug Goldstein".
[adult swim] staff:
Mike Lazzo
- Voiced by: Himself, Clark Duke
The all-powerful head honcho of [adult swim], always ready to cancel the show.
- Big Bad: In almost any meta sketch, as he is shown either canceling the show or in favor of it.
- Biting-the-Hand Humor: Not giving a very favorable portrayal otherwise, either.
- Groin Attack: In "A Very Dragon Ball Z Christmas", he is kicked multiple times there by the Nutcracker.
- Hidden Depths: He is shown dancing to many different tunes at the end of Season 4.
- Machete Mayhem: Attacks the Chicken with a machete during "The Rescue"...
- Mutual Kill: ...Only to sink it on Crofford's back while Crofford accidentally hits him with his nunchucks. Subverted later because the Chicken has no patience to watch them die.
- Never Bareheaded: Always wears a snow hat, regardless of setting or clothing.
- Off with His Head!: In "The Rescue", the Chicken stomps his head on the ground, smashing it.
- Pointy-Haired Boss: Portrayed as odd and quirky, at least.
- Running Gag: Lazzo canceling the show.
- Together in Death After accidentally injuring Crofford, he kisses and caresses him, leading into the Chicken killing them together.
Keith Crofford
- Voiced by: Himself, Matthew Senreich
The executive vicepresident of [adult swim].
- Beleaguered Assistant: Implied in the sketch where he renews the show without consulting Lazzo, who is clearly not happy about it. However, he is not free of quirkiness himself.
- Biting-the-Hand Humor: Same deal with Lazzo.
- Mutual Kill: ...only to hit Lazzo while he sinks his machete on Crofford's back. However, the Chicken kills them first...
- Off with His Head!: ...by stomping their heads together.
- Old Media Are Evil: He gloats more than once about how violence going up in Robot Chicken translates, or will translate on better ratings.
- Only Sane Man: Downplayed. He is saner than Seth and Lazzo and acts as the Straight Man with them, but is no free of craziness himself.
- The Other Darrin: Originally voiced by the real Crofford, and later by Senreich.
- Together in Death: After injuring Lazzo in "The Rescue" (who also injures him) he starts kissing and caressing him until the Chicken kills both.
Other people:
Joey Fatone
- Voiced by: Himself
A former member of *NSYNC. You know, the fat one.
- All Your Powers Combined: Joey harnesses the powers of the other *NSYNC to grow to the Britney Abomination's size and fight her.
- And Zoidberg: The Yakuzas sent to murder the *NSYNC don't even recognize him as a member of the group.
- Continuity Nod: He will appear sometimes wearing the karate costume from "Enter the Fat One", despite no reference made to karate.
- Groin Attack: Given one by Hello Kitty, of all characters.
- Hero Insurance: He is not accounted for all the damage done to the city during the fight with the Britney Abomination.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: He snatches Mazinger Z's detaching punch-missile and redirects it against him.
- Human Popsicle: During his training, he is frozen in a duel and broken in a thousand pieces. Then comes back like nothing happened.
- I Am Not Spock: He calls Pat Morita "Mr. Miyagi" before being corrected.
- Improvised Weapon: Uses the urban infrastructure to fight the giant Britney, finishing with using a broken telephone pole to stab her in the heart.
- Interchangeable Asian Cultures: "Enter the Fat One" mixes references to Chinese and Japanese media and culture freely.
- It's Personal with the Dragon: He wants to take revenge on the Yakuza for killing his friends. It turns out that the Yakuza were hired by Britney Spears to kill REO Speedwagon, but they mistook them with the *NSYNC for some reason.
- Kaiju: Parodied at the end of "Enter the Fat One", when he becomes a giant to fight the equally enormous Britney.
- Mistaken for Servant: The Yakuza assassins spare him because they mistake him for an errand boy.
- Neck Snap: Delivers one to kill Hong Kong Phooey.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After the other *NSYNC are killed by Yakuzas, he trains to be a karate master and avenge his friends.
- Off with His Head!: He is decapitated during his training. Then he is back to normal.
- One-Hit Kill: Kills Storm Shadow with one punch to the heart.
- Poor Communication Kills: Storm Shadow is surprised and excited to see that Joey has the same tattoo on his arm as him. However, Joey kills him before he can say anything.
- Pun: "Enter the Fat One" is a continuous pun based on the similarity between Fatone, Fat One (as Morita calls him), and Dragon.
- Self-Deprecation: Fatone voiced himself in a sketch that makes fun of his weight and supposed lack of importance to *NSYNC, the group that made him famous. And he accepted to do that in the first season, without having any idea of how Robot Chicken would turn out.
- Sole Survivor: Of the Yakuza hit on the *NSYNC.
- Took a Level in Badass: Becomes a karate legend in "Enter the Fat One".
- Training from Hell: Undergoes it in order to avenge his friends.
- Unexplained Recovery: He sustains injuries that would kill him during his training, like being decapitated and frozen then broken in a thousand pieces, only to turn up again as if nothing had happened.
- You Killed My Father: He tells the Yakuza at their "secret" hideout that he is there to avenge his friends. Then repeats Montoya's speech almost word by word when he learns that Britney Spears is the actual responsible.
- X Meets Y: Invoked when he pitches his own idea for a Robot Chicken sketch, which he describes as a mix of Rocky and "Crocodile" Dundee.
Lindsay Lohan
- Voiced by: Breckin Meyer
A rather unflattering portrayal of the disgraced child actress.
- All Girls Want Bad Boys: Calls Munson a bad boy and falls instantly in love with him.
- And Zoidberg: When she's revealed to be part of the V invasion troops, she's trusted to... carry a cup of coffee. Which she immediately drops. She's then told to do anything she wants.
- Batman Can Breathe in Space: She flies through space without a suit at the end of "There can be only one Lohan" (a.k.a. Highlohander).
- Bulletproof Human Shield: Acts as an involuntary one for the Gummy Bear in "Beginning Season Five".
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Voiced by Breckin Meyer, who is actually a man.
- The Ditz: Portrayed with varying grades of stupidity.
- Earth-Shattering Kaboom: After winning "the Gift" in "There can be only one Lohan", she makes Earth explode and flies away to party with aliens in outer space.
- Fan Disservice: Besides being a doll, she's portrayed as crash, vulgar, constantly drunk or insane, taking out any appeal from her curves and revealing outfits.
- Fiery Redhead: Definitely at play in "There can be only one Lohan". Later iterations portray her more as stupid than fiery... but interestingly, that's after she dies her hair black and blond.
- Flanderization: From a Cloud Cuckoo Lander with a violent streak in her first sketch to suicidally stupid by the V. parody.
- Fourth-Date Marriage: In "Bad Boy meets Damaged Girl with Daddy Issues", Munson moves in with her and her family and impregnates her between airings of her reality show, apparently.
- Hero Insurance: During the first duel in "There can be only one Lohan", she destroys an office without the officinists caring at any point.
- Hidden Depths: She can fight with a two-handed sword (courtesy of her Training from Hell with Ramirez), and she understands what the "Beginning Season Five" sketch is about from the beginning.Gummy Bear: Oh, who's even shooting at us?!Lindsay: It's just a metaphor for season five, stupid!
- Lady Drunk: She chucks entire bottles down. But the worrying part is that she behaves the same when she doesn't.
- Love at First Sight: She falls in love with Munson after seeing him (or seeing that he is a "bad boy"). Munson comes across as more opportunistic.
- Malaproper:
- Just read the quote (given while assaulting enemy trenches in "Beginning Season Five").
- In "V: The Celebrity Rehab Invasion", she scolds the police for their lack of knowledge of Geography... when she obviously means Biology.
- Monumental Damage: After killing Amanda Bynes in "There can be only one Lohan", she destroys the Hollywood sign while receiving "The Gift".
- Off with His Head!:
- Obviously done in "There can be only one Lohan", as it is a parody of Highlander.
- In "V: The Celebrity Rehab Invasion", she thinks that being a lizard implies the ability to regrow a head, and proceeds to remove her own herself to demonstrate. She kills herself instead.
- Potty Failure/Toilet Humor: In "Bad Boy meets Damaged Girl with Daddy Issues", she defecates in Daniel's family's backyard during a drunk bender. They assume it's her dog, and she does not correct them.
- Pun: While being shot in "Beginning Season Five", she names her movies (The Parent Trap, Mean Girls, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Georgia Rule) before ending with I Know Who Killed Me.
- Strong Family Resemblance: "Bad Boy meets Damaged Girl with Daddy Issues" gives her sister and mother the same voice and personality. By the end of the sketch, they all become pregnant at the same time.
- They Call Me Mr Tibbs: While driving a speeboat in "Hannah Dakota", she insists on being addressed as "Captain Lohan".
- Too Dumb to Live: Taken to extremes in the V. parody, where she is seen hitting a chair with her face for no reason, and then removes her own head in a futile attempt to prove that reptiles can regrow heads.
- Took a Level in Badass: "There can be only one Lohan" reveals that she was trained in swordsmanship by Ramirez from a young age. She avenges him, receives "the Gift", and promptly destroys Earth.
- Training from Hell: Her sword training in "There can be only one Lohan", done while she was filming The Parent Trap.
- You, Get Me Coffee: Exaggerated in the V. spoof, where she is trusted to hold a cup of coffee, then to do whatever she wants when she fails to do even that.
Britney Spears
- Voiced by: Seth Green
The former teen pop star, and person whom Seth Green presumably hated the most before transferring his sights to Lohan.
- All Your Powers Combined: In "Enter the Fat One", she fuses herself with Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson to become the giant Kaiju-like "Britney Abomination" and kill him.
- And Zoidberg: She doesn't consider Ashlee Simpson worthy of any introduction besides "Jessica Simpson's Sister" and tells her to shut up because "adults are talking".
- Body Horror: Her fusion with other pop stars and transformation into the giant and aptly named "Britney Abomination", which has a head in place of each hand and foot.
- Buried Alive: At the end of "Enter the Fat One".
- Crossdressing Voices: Voiced by Seth Green himself.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Spears was already spoofed in a 1999 Robot Chicken-esque stop motion short by Seth Green, years before the series proper began.
- Forgotten Fallen Friend: She shrugs when she drops her baby to its death while driving a spaceship in "V: The Celebrity Rehab Invasion".
- Kaiju: The "Britney Abomination", which she transforms into when combining with other pop stars.
- Decapitation Presentation: Santa Claus decapitates her and brings her head to the Coca-Cola executives when they suggest replacing him with her as their mascot.
- Gasshole: One of the Bloopers! programs show her lighting up her farts in the company of her boyfriend.
- Lethally Stupid: She carries her baby on her lap as she drives a spaceship without a covered cockpit, using the safety belts for her only. She then flies upside down, apparently trusting the baby to remain in place somehow. Obviously, the child plummets to its death.
- Noodle Incident: It is never explained why she hates and wanted to murder REO Speedwagon.
- The End... Or Is It?: The parody of The Stinger in "Enter the Fat One" reveals that she's actually Buried Alive and is clamoring for vengeance against Fatone.
- Unfinished Business: After being told that the Yakuza killed the *NSYNC by mistake, she says she has this with REO Speedwagon.
- Who Writes This Crap?!: At the end of "Enter the Fat One", she says that the joke sucked and that this cannot be the end of the sketch.
