Santo Claudio Paradiso

The head waiter of Casetta dell'Orso.

Voiced by: Jin Yamanoi

Tropes associated with Claudio:
  • Amicable Exes: He maintains an amiable relationship with his ex-wife. Nicoletta initially suspects him wearing his old wedding ring as a sign that he still loves Gabrielle.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's a rather kind person.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: He remembers meeting Furio at a hotel they both worked at over twenty years ago. Furio appears to have no recollection of him.
  • May–December Romance: He’s a middle-aged man who gets involved with twenty-one-year-old Nicoletta.
  • Sexual Extortion: When he was a young man working at a hotel, he was coerced into having sex with one of the regular patrons as “compensation” for dropping a plate of food on her.

Nicoletta

The twenty-one year old daughter of a lawyer named Olga. Bitter about her mother's abandonment, she set out to expose her to her new husband; in the meantime, she works as a chef in Casetta dell'Orso and develops a crush on the head waiter.

Voiced by: Fumiko Orikasa

Tropes associated with Nicoletta:

  • Missing Mom: After the divorce, her mother left her with her grandparents so she could hide the fact that she's a divorcee. Nicoletta, logically, is very unhappy and wants to call her out on it.
  • Raised by Grandparents: As said above, she was left with her grandparents while her mother went to pursue another man.
  • Redhead In Green: When she’s not wearing her chef’s uniform, the redheaded Nicoletta sometimes wears a green sweater.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She's the only female staff member in the restaurant.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Subverted. Nicoletta has red hair and brown eyes while her mother has blonde hair and blue eyes and neither of them bear any resemblances to the other. According to Gigi, they have the same smile, which is how he knew they were related.

Vito

Another waiter at Casetta dell'Orso

Voiced by: Takaya Kuroda

Tropes associated with Vito:

  • Chivalrous Pervert: He may flirt around a bit, but he does love his wife quite a lot.
  • Ladykiller in Love: Before he met his wife, he used to be quite a player with the ladies. While he still attracts a lot of admirers, he is faithful to his wife.
  • May–December Romance: Like Claudio, he’s a middle-aged man involved with a woman in her twenties.
  • One Head Taller: When he’s standing next to his wife, she’s shown to be at eye level with his chest.

Gianluigi "Gigi" Orsini

The reserved sommelier of Casetta dell'Orso.

Voiced by: Shigeo Koyama

Tropes associated with Gigi:

  • Affectionate Nickname: “Gigi” is derived from his names “Gian” and “Luigi”.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: He's very, VERY good at "reading" people. He manages to correctly deduce that Nicoletta is Olga’s daughter based of their smiles.
  • Big Little Brother: He’s Lorenzo’s older half-brother, but is considerably the shorter of the two.
  • Parting-Words Regret: He was in the middle of a nasty argument with his father before he died from a heart attack.
  • The Quiet One: The most reserved staff member.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: He was prepared to avoid Lorenzo for the rest of their lives due to their fathers being in love with the same woman. After a talk with his half-brother, both realized they shouldn’t let their fathers’ fight keep them from being a family.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Subverted. Despite being half-brothers and first cousins, he and Lorenzo share no distinct facial features. Not to mention Gigi has blond hair while Lorenzo has black.

Furio

A friendly chef. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Angela. He and Claudio previously worked in a hotel together when they were much younger.

Voiced by: Kazuhiko Nishimatsu
Tropes associated with Furio
  • Purely Aesthetic Glasses: While everyone else on the staff, safe for Nicoletta, wears glasses because of their vision, Furio only wears his just to blend into the environment.

Luciano de Luca

A widowed waiter at Casetta dell'Orso.

Voiced by: Mitsutaka Tachikawa

Tropes associated with Luciano:

  • Grumpy Old Man: In addition to him being in mourning over his late wife, he tends to grumble about things that annoy him. For example, when Nicoletta returns to the restaurant at the end of the first episode, he lectures her about treating the restaurant like a playground and kids having no respect for their elders.
  • The Mourning After: He's quite liked by ladies, but is still in mourning for his beloved wife.
