Protagonists
Kulu
A hero chosen by the Mayor to help him take over the world. With Arika by his side, he has to collect 8 World Pieces that are scattered across the world. With the pieces, the katz are then able to take over the world.
- Only Sane Man: In World 5, he is the only one serious about the mission, while the rest are distracted lazing on the beach.
Arika
A human goddess summoned by the Mayor to help Kulu on his adventures. She doesn't know who she is or where she is from, but she agrees to help Kulu collect the World Pieces in exchange for the Mayor returning her back home. She's an ordinary human girl who was sick of her old world, so she closed her heart and dreamed the entire world in her mind.
- Ambiguously Human: She is apparently a human goddess, but she has no memories of who she really is. The incident Spark Factory gave her traumatic memories of being in school, implying that she might have lived a life as a human.
- Subverted near the end of the story, however, that it reveals that Arika is fully human, and her godlike powers were the result from being in the world that is conjured in her mind.
- Comically Missing the Point: In the Flame Mountain, when Kulu comments how he'll be grilled being in such a fiery hot area, Arika imagines tasting Kulu as a steak.
- Our Gods Are Greater: Played with. Arika is summoned by Mr Mayor as a goddess who helps Kulu in his quest by rotating the stage. It's revealed near the end that she's a goddess, but in the sense that she created Kulu's world, but it's all in her mind.
Recurring Characters
Mayor
The Mayor of Katz Village who is full of himself. Bent on world domination, he appointed Kulu as the chosen hero to collect all seven World Pieces. The real Mayor is trapped in one of the statues, while the impostor who initiated the quest is Mr. Soo.
Kitty Vagabond
A green katz who wanders around the world.
Kitty Scholar
A blue katz who is Kulu distant friend. He is a dedicated scholar. Then the two met up after a long time, Kitty Scholar took interest in Arika, who is human-like. He offers to look into the human species to help find her origins.
- Opaque Nerd Glasses: Wears a pair of thick ones with swirly eyes.
World-Exclusive Characters
Bad Katz
A hooligan who live on the edge of Katz Village. Having a World Piece of his own, he planned for world domination like Mayor.
Totemz
A stack of three totem-like creatures called Gren, Yello and Redd. Encountered in Cave Rock.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: Gren, Yello, and Redd are colored by what their names would have been had they been correct.
S. Nowman
A snowman who resides in Icicle Palace for his studies. He is aware of Mayor's intentions, but he lets Kulu and Arika have his World Stone by having them clear his trials.
Spark Factory Workers
Cap'n Shark
A pirate shark who claims Blossy Island. Encountered near the end of Block Sea Island.
- Cool Sword: He is equipped with a cutlass.
- Sticks to the Back: His sword is mostly attached to his back.
- Threatening Shark: He's a shark who becomes a territorial pirate.
Dragorn
Medusa Ball
A ball-shaped divinity with snakes for hair. She was readily willing to offer Kulu and Arika the last World Stone as well as looking into the latter's mysterious past, but when she found out that Arika was just a shut in in her original world, Medusa Ball took it all back and decided to turn her into stone instead.
- Cyclops: She only has one eye on her main face.
Antagonist
Mr. Soo (SPOILERS!)
An impostor of Mayor who tricks Kulu and Arika into collecting the World Stones. Helping the katz rule over the world is a cover story; his real goal is to use the World Stones to enter the gate so that he can live in the real world as Arika, while leaving the rest behind to vanish from existence.
