The Power Rangers

    Rocky
Played by: Eric Fuchs

The Red Ranger of the team of Earth 2-18.

  • Adaptational Badass: In terms of where he stands in the team, if nothing else; by the time the Rocky of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers came into the picture, Tommy had become the leader. Here, Rocky is shown to be Jason's successor as team leader.
  • Animal Motifs: Tyrannosaurus, of course.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Wields the Power Sword as his main weapon. After being saved by the Chrono Ranger and losing the sword, he's given a more powerful version of the weapon from another universe.
  • The Leader: The leader of his team of Rangers.
  • Legacy Character: Much like his mainline counterpart, Rocky is the second Red Ranger behind Jason.
  • My Greatest Failure: He wasn't able to save the Jason of his world. Also applies to him losing Adam and Tommy.
  • Red Is Heroic: He's the Red Ranger, after all.
  • Rookie Red Ranger: He's among the newer members of the team by the time the Arbiter arrives.
  • Survivor Guilt: Jason's death in the battle against Lord Zedd weighs on Rocky, shaking his confidence in his abilities as a leader. Losing Adam and Tommy to the Arbiter only compounds this feeling, making him wonder if the Arbiter is right about the Rangers being unworthy of their power.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Takes up a more powerful version of the Power Sword from another universe.

    Adam
Played by: Gee Javier

The Black Ranger of Earth 2-18.

  • Animal Motifs: Mastodon.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Adam takes a second to quip at Rocky's fighting style while the Rangers fight a group of Putties.
Adam: Your technique needs more technique.
  • The Lancer: Second in-command of the team.
  • Legacy Character: Like Rocky and his own mainline counterpart, Adam is the second Black Ranger after Zack.
  • Take Up My Sword: Gives Rocky his power coin upon his death at the hands of the Arbiter.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Adam falls to the Arbiter in the second episode, without much focus on his character before his demise.

    Billy
Played by: Jourdan Barnett

The Blue Ranger of Earth 2-18.

  • Animal Motifs: Triceratops.
  • Race Lift: Billy in the original show was white, but this world's Billy is black.
  • The Smart Guy: The smartest member of the team and a tech-genius capable of doing just about anything. He managed to make a dimensional teleporter from a device used by another Billy, a SNES and a Gameboy Advance SP.
  • Techno Babble: Wouldn't be Billy without it.

    Trini
Played by: Christine Hilary Lee

The Yellow Ranger of Earth 2-18.

  • Animal Motifs: Saber-Toothed Tiger.
  • The Heart: Trini is the emotional core of the team and the one who keeps them grounded in reality.
  • The Smart Guy: Though to a lesser extent than Billy. She often helps him out with his inventions and translates his technobabble to the others.
  • Heterosexual Lifepartners: With Billy, as they're the smartest members of the team and good friends.

    Kim
Played by: Jenna Garcia

The Pink Ranger of Earth 2-18.

    Zack
Played by: Lee Juaso

The first Black Ranger of Earth 2-18. Despite retiring as a Ranger, he still helps out the team wherever he can.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Due to his damaged morpher, his power as the Black Ranger is far weaker than it used to be. He's seen struggling to lift his Axe against Putties.
  • Animal Motifs: Mastodon.
  • The Lancer: Was this to Jason before he died. Now he helps the Rangers from behind the scenes.
  • Retired Badass: Due to the damage done to his morpher, he's this by necessity.

    Tommy
Played by: Angela Jordan

The Green Ranger of Earth 2-18.

  • Adaptational Sexuality: Combined with Gender Flip. This version of Tommy is a lesbian in love with Kim.
  • Animal Motifs: Dragon.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Tommy manages to put up a better fight against the Arbiter than her teammates had, landing several blows and managing to avoid most of his counterattacks. That said, she's still outmatched and ultimately opts to flee. Their rematch does not end in Tommy's favour.
  • Gender Flip: Unlike her canon counterpart, Unworthy's version of Tommy is female.
  • Sacrificial Lion: Tommy gets a decent amount of development and proves to be an experienced, capable fighter. Her death at the hands of the Arbiter drives home the threat of the villain and sets the tone for the series going forward.
  • The Sixth Ranger: An alternate version of the Trope Namer.
  • Take Up My Sword: Gives Kim the Dragon Power Coin before she dies to the Arbiter.

The Mysterious Ranger

    Chrono Ranger

I don't have a team, not anymore.
Played by: Logan Raposo
Voiced by: Jeffrey Raze

A mysterious silver ranger who travels the multiverse in order to fight the Arbiter. He was originally known as Cayden Pierce, the Silver Time Force Ranger.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Lost his right arm to the Arbiter and replaced it with Venjix's own mechanical arm.
  • Badass Cape: Wears a white cape.
  • The Determinator: Despite everything he's been through, he still presses on to defeat the Arbiter.
  • Dimensional Traveler: Travels the multiverse gathering power in order to defeat the Arbiter.
  • Good Counterpart: To the Arbiter; Chrono Ranger lost everything to the rampaging Ranger killer, just as the Arbiter once lost everything he cared about, and like him, Chrono Ranger set out on a dimension-hopping mission of justice. They both have powers beyond the usual for Power Rangers, and they each have a somewhat cynical outlook, but they differ strongly in their morals and reactions to trauma: the Arbiter broke completely and went on the warpath, while Chrono Ranger, despite a soured personality, continues to fight for what's right.
  • Human Aliens: Hails from Edenoi.
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: The death of his partner weighs heavily on him.
  • Hyperspace Arsenal: Can summon his weapons via his Chrono Shifter on his cybernetic arm.
  • Knight in Sour Armour: He's a great hero from where his universe used to be, but he's not exactly the nicest.
  • Mr. Exposition: He's the one who reveals the Arbiter's story, as well as his own.
  • Original Generation: Unlike the Rangers from Earth 2-18, the Chrono Ranger is completely original... except for the fact that he's a former member of his universe's Time Force and was mentored by his version of Jen.
  • Sole Survivor: The only one to escape the destruction of his universe’s Time Force.
  • That Man Is Dead: As he himself says, Cayden Pierce is no more. Left with nothing but the search for justice against the Arbiter, he's only the Chrono Ranger.
  • Walking Arsenal: The Chrono Shifter allows him to access a number of weapons from fallen rangers, such as Jason's Power Sword, Magna Defender's sword attached to a ruined Power Blaster, and a Dino Charge Morpher.

Villains

    The Arbiter (SPOILERS)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arbiter_3.jpg
Rangers of Earth 2-18, you have been deemed unworthy.
Original form

Played by: James M. Robinson III
Voiced by: Washi

The First Ranger in existence and the self-proclaimed "Arbiter of the Morphin Grid". He goes around the multiverse killing other Rangers, who he deems unworthy to wield the power of the Grid.

  • Animal Motifs: Tyrannosaurus, just like the Red Ranger.
  • Arch-Enemy: For the Chrono Ranger; the Arbiter attacked a young Cayden Pierce, slaughtering the rest of the Time Force Rangers including both Jen (Cayden's mentor) and Marie (Katie's daughter and Cayden's partner), with Cayden himself only barely surviving after losing his right arm. Renouncing his name in favour of calling himself "Chrono Ranger", Cayden set out to stop the Arbiter's rampage and avenge his fallen comrades, which brings him to Earth 2-18.
  • Big Bad: Serves as the main antagonist of the story.
  • Black Swords Are Better: Every sword he touches turns into a jagged black sword for him to use.
  • The Chosen One: Surviving the Zordon Wave causes the Arbiter to believe his actions are just, and only he can judge other Rangers as the representative of the Morphin Grid.
  • The Cynic: He believes that all Power Rangers abuse the power of the Morphin Grid, driving his multiversal rampage and his merciless slaughter of any Rangers who refuse to surrender.
  • Death Seeker: Downplayed; the Arbiter shattered Zordon's energy tube as a test of his own nature, and would have been perfectly fine with it if the resulting Z-Wave destroyed him. He survived, thus convincing him that his cause was righteous, even if he had nothing else to live for.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Crossed it after he lost his entire home and everyone he loved to two irresponsible Rangers, also pushing him over the edge both morally and psychologically.
  • Don't Make Me Destroy You: When he encounters new Rangers, the Arbiter offers them a choice: surrender the source of their powers or fight him and die. If they opt to fight, he's utterly merciless.
  • Evil Costume Switch: His originally red suit is burned black after he kills Zordon, providing a physical sign of his spiritual downfall.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: Befitting his intimidating stature and foreboding appearance, the Arbiter speaks in a deep, powerful voice that suits his cold demands for surrender and promises of death very well.
  • Evil vs. Evil: His targets includes the likes of Lord Drakkon, Venjix and the Psycho Rangers.
  • Evil Wears Black: After killing his world's Zordon, his suit was turned black from the ensuing blast.
  • The Faceless: He has yet to be seen unmorphed, leaving his appearance a mystery.
  • Face–Heel Turn: He was the greatest hero of his time and universe until the people he loved were killed in a battle between two universe-hopping Rangers.
  • Fallen Hero: A variation from a multiversal perspective. All other versions of this Ranger were virtuous and noble to the very end, but this version became the Arbiter due to losing everyone he loved to a temporal anomaly caused by a battle between Lord Drakkon and Jason.
  • Flawed Prototype: Downplayed. The Arbiter is the only version of himself to become a villain, and that was due to a temporal anomaly.
  • Foil: To Lord Drakkon. Drakkon was a version of Tommy who refused the opportunity to turn good while all his other incarnations took that chance, and used a combination of Green and White Ranger powers. The Arbiter however is the only version of the First Ranger to turn away from good after a tragedy that never should have occurred, and was initially a Red Ranger.
  • Hero Killer: Beyond killing Adam and Tommy, his body count also consists of multiple versions of Jason, Zack, Billy, Tommy, Alpha 5, Zordon, Ninjor, Tideus, Trey of Triforia, T.J., Mike, Wes, Jen, Shane, Blake, Sam, Tyzonn, and many unnamed Rangers. And that's just who we know he killed.
  • Implacable Man: Nothing that any Ranger throws at him does much more than slow the Arbiter down or delay the inevitable. The few attacks he doesn't totally shrug off utterly fail to even knock him down. Running doesn't help much either, as he can track Morphin Grid energy, even if the Rangers in question are unmorphed (in which case it just takes a while longer).
Arbiter: Run... fight... it makes no difference.
  • Kick the Dog: While killing Zordon had a purpose, if a twisted one, the Arbiter also takes a moment to destroy Alpha, who presented no threat to him.
  • Knight of Cerebus: The Rangers of Earth 2-18 are shown to have adventures typical of the original series, campy tone and all. Once the Arbiter arrives, however, the tone shifts to a dark drama with elements of horror as they lose friends and struggle to even survive against the implacable killer.
  • Knight Templar: He sees the Power Rangers as abusing the Morphing Grid and cause more trouble than they fix.
  • Menacing Stroll: He never moves faster than an intimidating walk, even using a Teleport Spam instead of running to outpace his targets.
  • Mighty Glacier: Downplayed; the Arbiter never moves faster than a Menacing Stroll, and he's both overwhelmingly strong and incredibly durable. That said, he uses teleportation to compensate for his lack of speed (or disinclination to run), and his reflexes are lightning fast.
  • Moral Myopia: The very same pain that set the Arbiter on his path— the loss of his friends and loved ones— is exactly the kind of pain he inflicts on others by slaughtering the Power Rangers, as shown with Kim (who lost her girlfriend Tommy) and the Chrono Ranger (who lost his partner Marie and his mentor Jen).
  • One-Man Army: Alone, the Arbiter has cut down entire teams of Power Rangers.
  • Power-Up Full Color Change: After becoming the Arbiter, his red suit was turned black.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: He has two that he seems fond of: "the Power protects you no longer" and "the Power Rangers are no more".
  • Red Is Heroic: Before becoming the Arbiter, his suit was Red. His suit being burnt black serves as a visual representation of his fall from grace.
  • Super Prototype: He was the first champion of the Morphin Grid on the planet Earth in every universe. However due to a temporal anomaly caused by Lord Drakkon, one version of him became the Arbiter who, during his warpath, shows himself to be one of, if not the strongest Ranger in existence by consistently handing out a Curb-Stomp Battle to every Ranger he faces, including some of the strongest ones in the franchise like Lord Drakkon.
  • Teleport Spam: To make up for his slow yet menacing stride, the Arbiter teleports around his foes when he needs to outpace them.
  • Tragic Villain: He was once as noble a hero as any Power Ranger, but Lord Drakkon's mad ambitions and the fallout of Jason's well-meaning interference cost him everything he loved and drove him to murderous villainy. Even Zordon recognized that the Arbiter was driven by pain and rage and tried to console him to no avail.
  • Villain Has a Point:
    • Downplayed; while most Rangers can and do use their powers for the sake of good, there are outliers like Lord Drakkon that support the Arbiter's argument that power corrupts.
    • Calling out Zordon for entrusting the power of the Morphin' Grid to reckless teenagers isn't exactly uncalled for; it was a battle between variants of Lord Drakkon and Jason that started the Arbiter down his dark path, and the franchise as a whole is rife with moments where the Rangers, though always heroic, behave irresponsibly.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: His reasoning behind why he deems most Power Rangers across the multiverse unworthy, after he lost everything he loved as collateral damage to a battle between an alternate Jason and Lord Drakkon. He calls that universe's Zordon out on this and calls the Rangers irresponsible and "children made gods".
  • Would Hit a Girl: Several female Rangers number among his victims, including this universe's Tommy, as well as Jen and Katie's daughter Marie.
  • Would Hurt a Child: In the Arbiter's own words, the Power Rangers are, for the most part, "children made gods"; the Arbiter slaughters every one of the Rangers that he can. Though the Rangers are, mostly, in their mid-late teens and the Arbiter has as few qualms about cutting down adults as well.
    Scorpina
  • The Cameo: Appears briefly in the first episode, fighting the Rangers alongside a group of Putties.
    Venjix
  • Adaptational Badass: This version of Venjix becomes a Ranger, by the means of using the Chrono Shifter as a morpher. Even his Mooks have access to copies of the reboot's Power Sword, and Venjix himself is significantly stronger as a Machine Ranger.
  • Hyperspace Arsenal: Seeing as he is the original user of the Chrono Shifter, he is also able to use a variety of weapons from Ranger history. He mainly shows it by conjuring a version of the Magna Defender's sword to fight the Gold and Silver Time Force Rangers.
  • Not Quite Dead: Though now he (sometimes) and his Time Force adversaries call him Legion instead.
