  • The Cameo: Some Torchics appear in one of it's victory animations.
  • Playing with Fire: Most of Blaziken's Specials has it send out a projectile or engulf it's fists or foot with flames. One of it's victory animatons has it engulf it's entire body in a tower of fire
  • Shotoclone: Blaziken has a projectile, a rush attack, and uppercut for it;'s specials.; all which are standards for a shotoclone.

  • Fragile Speedster: It has multiple mobility options to get around the battlefirld, but has the lowest health.
  • Glass Cannon: It is tied with Toxicroak for the lowest health in the game.
  • Ki Manipulation: It's Super, Qi Blast has it launch a powerful projectile.

  • Assist Character: Chesnaught is accompanied by Chespin that helps it with a few of it's attacks.
  • Bullet Seed: It's Neutral Special (Bullet Seed) has Chesnaught feed Chespin a berry. Once B is pressed again, it spits the seeds out as projectiles.
  • Shield Bash: A number of it's attacks such as Air Shield Smash and Shield Bash have it use the shield on it's back.
  • Spike Shooter: It's Super, Spike Cannon has it launch spikes from it's back.
  • Tough Spikes and Studs: It's shield and arms are covered in spikes, with are used for a number of it's attacks.

  • Badass Adorable: They may appear cute, but are capable of fighting their opponents.
  • Badass Cape: One appears for one of its victory animations.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Falinks is difficult to master but is very powerful in the right hands.
  • Horn Attack: Some of their Normals use their helmet's horn.

  • Charge Attack: Quaking Stomp is capable of being charged, which increases its area of effect.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Changing it's direction while it's rolling has it launch rocks in it's opposite direction.
  • Spin Attack: Whirling Fortress has it spin on the ground.
  • Rolling Attack: Dashing has it curl into a wheel, which allows for some attacks like Heavy Slam.

  • Kick Chick: Most of it's attacks have it use it's talons to kick the enemy.

  • Shock and Awe: Thunderous Kick has it engulf it's body in electricity while kicking downwards.

    Wobuffet 
  • Counter-Attack: One of it's actions has it counter the plaer's attack.
  • Training Dummy: It's role in Training Mode is this. Though it can fight back if you enable certain actions.

Gorochu

  • Secret Boss: To challenge Gorochu, you have to win in The Path without getting a game over.
  • Shock and Awe: It can use a lightingbolt that goes across the screen.
