British Isles

    Imperial Britain
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flag_of_the_united_kingdom.png
Flag of the Commonwealth of Britain
Official Name: Imperial Britain, Commonwealth of Britain (Reformist Path), United Imperial Commonwealth (Conservative Path)
Ruling Party: Conservative Party
Ideology: Conservatism
The British Empire, once the undisputed ruler of the world, stands at the weakest point in their long history. The Great War broke the old Concert of Europe, once so dutifully maintained by diplomats and leaders. Britain, caught up in the conflict, sacrificed millions of their soldiers across the French and Iberian fronts. While Europe languished in their postwar depression, Britain retreated into isolationism, relying on an increasingly dysfunctional system of imperial trade. With their Imperial Confederation appearing archaic and the Constituent Commonwealths more assertive, Britain faces a myriad of threats with and without.
  • Black-and-Grey Morality: While Britain still engages in imperialism and can create weapons of mass destruction, they are saints compared to the ultranationalists in France and the Russian Tsardom.
  • The Empire: Britain in 1933 is the largest colonial empire in the world, propping itself up with the exploitation of countless colonies across all continents.
  • The Federation: If the reformist path is taken on foreign policy, Britain can reform its empire into a federal union where it is theoretically no more important than any of its former colonies.
  • Resurgent Empire: If Britain manages to defeat France and Russia in the Second Great War and successfully sideline the UC, it can become the dominant power once again.
  • Space-Filling Empire: Should Britain complete its centralization policies, it will form the United Imperial Commonwealth. It consists of the British Isles, British North America, Carnegia, and British Oceania.
  • Vestigial Empire: Downplayed. Britain still has an empire spanning the globe, but internal problems and rebellious subjects make their current position less than ideal, not to mention that the United Commonwealth has grown to be an equal power to Britain and can potentially outrank them. Played straight should they lose the Imperial Civil War.

  • Assassin Outclassin': Queen Victoria survived an attempt on her life in 1894.

Because of this, she is the longest reigning monarch in human history, living long enough to outlive Prince George V, who dies at the start of the game.
  • Older Than They Look: Due to her cybernetic implants, Queen Victoria looks far younger than her age of 114 would indicate.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Queen Victoria is so old that she has managed to outlive Prince George V. Not like she was happy about it.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: Queen Victoria was given cybernetic implants by Edison Electric after nearly dying from an assassination attempt, becoming a nearly immortal cyborg in the process.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: Queen Victoria was left depressed over having to see her loved ones die over the years, including her late husband Albert. If she is offered to be immortal, she has the option to decline the offer.

France

    Republic of France
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/francepb_0.png
Flag of the National State of France
Flag of the National Worker's State of France
Flag of the French Empire
Flag of the French State
Official Name: Republic of France, National State of France (Doriot), National Worker's State of France (Armand), French Empire (Maurras), French State (Noguès), French Social Republic (SP)
Ruling Party: Front Populaire Françaisnote
Ideology: Despotism
Rising from the ashes of their catastrophic defeat in the Great War, France is a nation reborn. The failures of the Bourbon dynasty have paved the way for the rise of ultranationalist fervor. Germany and Britain have suffered weakness and failure, while the peoples of France waited, regaining their strength. Under the guiding hand of Grand Marshall Doriot, France is once again able to stand up to the perfidious Germans and reclaim her rightful place as Europe's dominant power.
  • Allohistorical Allusion: As France is a thinly-veiled analogue for Nazi Germany in this timeline, there are a few references to the Nazis throughout their flavor text:
    • The treatment of France following the Great War is extremely similar to the treatment of Germany following the First World War, with an extremely harsh treaty aimed at punishing them and removing their ability to wage war. Just like Germany in real life, this didn't really work and has lead to the rise of far right extremist political movements and a desire for revenge against the British and Germans.
    • France has a powerful paramilitary force known as the Sécurité Publique (or "SP") with more than a few similarities to the Schutzstaffel and the Milice.
    • One of the military focuses is named "Foudres de Guerre" (or "Lightning of War") and enables tactics quite similar to Blitzkrieg.
    • France can expand its motorways in a very similar manner to Germany's Autobahn.
    • After France wins the great war, they will grant the SP Hannover, which is similar to the "Order-State of Burgundy" in France proposed by Heinrich Himmlernote .
    • If taken over by the SP, France will be renamed the French Social Republic, after the OTL Italian Social Republic, Nazi Germany's Italian puppet state during WWII.
  • Break Out the Museum Piece: If things start going badly for France during the Second Great War, one of their national focuses has them loot their museums for every gun they can get their hands on.
  • The Empire: France's focus tree allows to expand its territory rapidly, and should it win the Second Great War, it can establish itself as the new hegemon of Europe.
  • Expy: In this timeline, France is a nation bitter from losing a brutal war that became an ultranationalist dictatorship that puts Jews and foreigners in concentration camps and plans to conquer Europe. Sound familiar? That being said, it's also possible for Armand or Maurras to overthrow Doriot and turn France into either a Sorelian national syndicalist state or an integralist monarchy respectively.
  • I Can Rule Alone: The various far-right factions that make up the French government all hate each other and actively conspire against one another. In the end, it's only possible for one faction to prevail: whether Doriot's self-coup succeeds in getting rid of the opposition, or Armand and Maurras successfully cooperate to overthrow him before turning on each other.
  • Interservice Rivalry: The French military and the SP are bitter opponents, and various in-game decisions allow you to either balance the two's influence or favor one or the other. If you favor one too strongly, the other will attempt to overthrow the government.
  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: France is ruled by a far-right, rabidly expansionist and extremely anti-Semitic government, a clear counterpart to OTL Nazi Germany. The main difference here is that French Neo-Imperialists are extremely anti-German rather than anti-Slavic.
  • Patriotic Fervor: Incorporated as a game mechanic that affects your recruitable population and how hard it is to force you to surrender.
  • The Purge: In each of France's paths, there are focuses dedicated to eradicating other factions in the government.
  • State Sec: The Sécurité Publique acts as the paramilitary arm and security service of the regime.

Jacques Doriot

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_fra_jacques_doriot.png
Role: Country Leader
Party: Front Populaire Françaisnote
Ideology: Despotism, Ultranationalismnote  (Successful Doriot coup)

  • The Coup: Doriot plans to seize absolute power for himself by way of a self-coup. Whether this plot succeeds or not will decide France's path for the rest of the game.
  • Cult of Personality: Propaganda portrays Doriot as the face of the new France after he takes full control of the country.
  • Illegal Religion: Doriot's regime is very hostile to the Catholic Church, as he believes it distracts citizens from their devotion to the state.
  • Pet the Dog: While Doriot is a brutal and genocidal tyrant, he can improve the lives of his citizens (at least, the French non-Jewish ones) a bit by subsidizing schools.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Doriot's "New Feminism" is thinly veiled sexism that "encourages" women to fulfill their "natural role" as homemakers.
  • Tyrant Takes the Helm: Doriot is the most brutal of the potential French leaders, purging anything and anyone that competes with the state for influence and instituting brutal genocide in areas near the German border.
  • Visionary Villain: Doriot views his rule as "year zero" for his nation, and plans to completely remake France in his image.

Inessa Armand

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_pb_fra_inessa_armand.png
Role: Country Leader (Doriot removed)
Party: Front Populaire Françaisnote
Ideology: Revolutionary Nationalismnote

  • Allohistorical Allusion: The titles of two of her focuses ("Socialism Without Internationalism" and "Nationalism Without Capitalism") are references to a quote by Gregor Strasser, since her ideology is also a synthesis of ultranationalism and socialism. Another of her lines, "revolutionary against the revolution", is a reference to a quote from Adolf Hitler.
  • Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Armand could be France's first female leader in this timeline, and radically expands women's rights in her regime.
  • Commie Nazis: Armand's "left-nationalism" is an odd blend of the far-right and far-left, denouncing both capitalism and internationalism as tools of tyrants.
  • Historical Villain Upgrade: While a communist politician in real life mostly known for her romance with Vladimir Lenin, in Pax Britannica she is a national syndicalist and leads her own political movement that can take France (and Europe) by storm.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: While her regime is still totalitarian and chauvinistic, Armand at least makes an effort to improve the lives of her people with syndicalist economic reform and instates some limited democracy.

Charles Maurras

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_pb_fra_charles_maurras.png
Role: Country Leader (Doriot removed)
Party: Front Populaire Françaisnote
Ideology: Despotism

  • Evil Reactionary: The restored monarchy is dedicated to returning France to an imagined glorious past and restores the power of the nobility and the Church, and is nearly as racist and anti-Semitic as Doriot's government.
  • The Fundamentalist: Maurras makes an extreme interpretation of Catholic doctrine a guiding principle of the French state.

Jean I

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_fra_jean_i.png
Role: Monarchnote  (Monarchy restored)

  • Puppet King: Jean I serves as nothing but a figurehead of Maurras.
  • Rightful King Returns: If Maurras stops Doriot's coup and prevails over Armand to become France's leader, he restores the Kingdom of France and crowns Jean, the Orléanist pretender to the French throne.

Charles Noguès

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_fra_charles_nogues_9.png
Role: General, Country Leader (Military coup)
Party: Front Populaire Françaisnote
Ideology: Despotism
Leader of the Military Faction.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: The military is far less morally bankrupt than the SP and purges its worst excesses. That being said, they still maintain the revanchist policies of France and maintain anti-German and anti-British sentiment.
  • Military Coup: If the military gains too much influence, it will coup the government and install Charles Noguès as the new leader of France.

Joseph Darnand

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_pb_fra_joseph_darmand.png
Role: Country Leader (SP coup or Alemannia formed)
Party: Front Populaire Françaisnote
Ideology: Ultranationalismnote
In-Game Biography Click to Show
Leader of the Sécurité Publique, the paramilitary arm and security service of the regime.
  • Allohistorical Allusion: Darnand is one to his OTL self, who was the leader of the Milice, a paramilitary organization of the Vichy Regime, but also one to Heinrich Himmler, he is the leader of an organization obeying primarily to him instead of the state and with its own paramilitary force and they both share an interest in the occult.
  • Expy: Darnand's depiction shares similarities to Himmler's own in The New Order Last Days Of Europe, with both seeking to replace the dictator they serve by performing a coup and Darnand can become leader of his own state as a fiefdom for his organization, similar to Himmler's SS-led state in Burgundy.
  • Ghostapo: A French expy. Darnand has a significant interest in the occult and is the leader of the SP, an ultranationalist paramilitary force in France with similarities to OTL Nazi Germany's SS.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Should Doriot consolidate his rule, he has the option to purge Darnand in order to strengthen his influence, replacing him with Xavier Vallat.

Xavier Vallat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_pb_fra_xavier_vallat.png
Role: Country Leader (Darnand was purged, SP coup or Alemannia formed)
Ideology: Neo-Imperialism
In-Game Biography Click to Show

  • Defector from Decadence: His experience as a soldier of the Great War turned him against away from Christianity and the monarchy, becoming a member of the National Front and the SP militia.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Vallat lost an eye serving in the Great War and wears a distinctive eyepatch in his portrait.

Germany

    United Kingdoms of Germany
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ukg.png
Flag of the German Federation/Empire
Flag of the Federated States of Europa
Official Name: United Kingdoms of Germany, German Federation (State Socialism), German Empire (Reactionism), German Liberation Forces (Defeated by Pacte Revanchiste), Federated States of Europa (Post-Great War, State Socialism), Francia (Post-Great War, Liberalism)
Party: Unabhängige Demokratische Parteinote
Ideology: Liberalism
The United Kingdoms of Germany are in the center of Europe and so influenced by all. With victory in the Great War Germany finally became the second strongest colonial power and had a chance to create great impacts on history such as Britian and Russia. However after the war, failures, mistakes and missed opportunities cost the United Kingdoms great deals of influence and power. Germany is the center point of Europe, enrishing itself in all the different traditions and trends around the world, experiencing another political lockdown and suffering another economic crises. Germany needs to change to have chance of returning to stability ... No ... to survive the impending hell.
  • Allohistorical Allusion: While PXTL France is an analogue of Nazi Germany, PXTL Germany is an analogue of OTL France.
    • The Maginot Line was constructed in Alsace like in real life, albeit by Germany instead of France.
    • Should Germany get defeated by France in WW2, the French will set up Nuremberg Germany, an equivalent to Vichy France.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Being an analogue of OTL France, Germany is one of the hardest countries to play as in Pax Britannica; when not controlled by a skilled human player, it is doomed to get defeated by France and Russia.
  • The Federation: The United Kingdoms of Germany consists of German regions minus Schleswig-Holstein and East Prussia, as well as Bohemia and Slovenia.
  • Government in Exile: If defeated by the Pacte Revanchiste, Germany's government will retreat to its African colonies, forming the German Liberation Forces there.
  • Hitler's Time Travel Exemption Act: Hitler in this timeline never became the anti-communist and dictator he did in our timeline, ending up as a painter in a Venice commune. There's an event where an implied time-traveller kills Hitler, and is quickly detained, however upon being detained he quickly becomes hysterical, trying to explain that he miscalculated, and went to the wrong timeline, having ended up in Pax Britannica's timeline, instead of his own.
  • Irony: In OTL, Prussia unified Germany, with Austria being left out. Here, Prussia and Austria's roles have been switched.
  • Shout-Out: At one point, the United Kingdoms of Germany has to investigate about a play known for anomalous activities named "Der König in Gelb".

Role: Monarchnote  (Rudolf II abdication)
Party: Unabhängige Demokratische Parteinote , Sozialistischer Bundnote  (Elections)
Ideology: Liberalism, State Socialism (Elections)

  • Abdicate the Throne: If the Deutsche Volksbund wins the 1933 elections, the new reactionary government will force Elisabeth to abdicate in favor of Franz Ferdinand.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: In both paths that Elisabeth can go through, either the UDP or SB, Germany ends up a better place, with the SB even finding a peaceful resolution to the Phillipine Independence War.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Kaiserin Elisabeth is directly interested in the affairs of the nation and the wellbeing of its citizens and will actively help the UDP or SB governments in achieving their goals.

Ferdinand II

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_ger_ferdinand_ii.png
Role: Monarchnote  (Elisabeth forced abdication)
Party: Deutsche Volksparteinote
Ideology: Reactionism

  • Evil Reactionary: Ferdinand II will become the new Kaiser of the UKG should the Deutsche Volkspartei come into power, which will attempt to crack down on women's rights, promote nationalism, and unban the far-right neo-imperialist Nationale Deutsche Volkspartei.

European Parliament

    Independent State of Prussia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prussia_pb_flag.png
Flag of Prussia (Junker coup)
Flag of the German Empire
Official Name: Independent State of Prussia, Kingdom of Prussia (Junkers coup), Greater German Reich (Northeast Germany conquered), German Empire (Declare the New Empire Focus), Universal Empire (World conquest)
Ruling Party: Vaterlandsfront - Prussonationalist Factionnote
Ideology: Prussonationalismnote
The Independent State of Prussia, simply Prussia, has been ruled by the Vaterland Front for the past decade. The ultranationalist regime under Philipp Bouhler has been slowly readying the state for the eventual coming war that will grip not only the soul of Europe, but that of the globe. Whilst the Anglo-German hegemonies might be too blind to see that Europe has boarded a one way trip straight to war, Prussia and its peoples' have long awaited for the moment where they could finally prove to the world the true capabilities of Prussia's eternal glory.
  • Allohistorical Allusion:
    • Prussia serves as Pax Britannica's equivalent of Austria, rather than being the unifier of Germany.
      • Prussia's current ruling party is the Vaterlandsfront, which bears similarities to Austria's Fatherland Front, an Austrofascist political party opposed to Pan-Germanism.
      • Prussonationalism also has similarities to Austrofascism, as both ideologies reject Pan-Germanism in favor of nationalism.
      • Shortly after independence from Russia, Prussia was initially a democracy before falling into civil war between the liberals and the Prussonationalists, mirroring the OTL Austrian Civil War between socialists and nationalists that happened after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
    • Prussia also shares some characteristics to OTL Nazi Germany.
      • A lot of Prussian politicians and generals were part of the Nazi Party OTL, most notably people like Bouhler, Rosenberg, Speer, Ribbentrop, and Bormann.
      • Prussia's intelligence agency is named the Ordnungspolizei, sharing the name of the OTL police force of Nazi Germany even though it is actually closer to the Abwehr, the military intelligence service of Weimar and Nazi Germany.
    • Bouhler's coup, a march of veterans seizing the capital and with it the control of the country, is reminiscient of Mussolini's March on Rome and a successful version of the French 6 February 1934 Crisis in OTL.
  • The Coup:
    • Bouhler came to power by leading a march of Great War veterans to overthrow the short-lived liberal democratic government of Prussia.
    • Should Bouhler fail to crush the Junkers in time, they will stage a coup against the Vaterlandsfront and restore the monarchy.
    • In the Junker path of Prussia, if the government fails to capture major Russian cities in one year, Alfred Rosenberg and his militarists will launch a coup against the king.
  • Dark Horse Victory:
    • Should Bouhler's Prussia unite with the Brandenburg-Prussians, the world will be greeted with surprise due to Prussia's humiliation throughout the years.
    • Despite its difficulty, it's actually possible to unify all of Germany as Prussia if they get couped by the Junkers and the Habsburgs go into exile in Africa.
  • Irony:
    • Because Austria united Germany in this timeline, Prussia now serves Pax Britannica’s equivalent of OTL Austria.
    • A lot of the Prussonationalists were not actually born in East Prussia OTL, like Bouhler, Bormann, Mengele, Speer, and Ribbentrop.
    • The organization created by Prussia to unite the reactionary and ultranationalist movements of the world against the "Judeo Liberal World Order" and dedicated to exterminate leftism is called the "International".
  • Short-Lived Leadership: The country's liberal democratic constitutional monarchy did not survive long after it proclaimed the independence of Prussia as Bouhler led a march a veterans on the capital and successfully overthrew them.
  • Start My Own: While the Prussians still view themselves as Germans, they believed to be different from mainland Germany and desire a newly forged Prussian identity. Downplayed in the Junkers Coup, as unlike Bouhler, the Junkers desire a German identity and can potentially bring all of Germany under them should the Habsburgs go into exile.
  • Take That!: According to the lead developer, the situation of Prussia in this timeline is solely to make fun of the concept of Prussian militarism.

  • Allohistorical Allusion: Philip Bouhler shares similarities with Engelbert Dolfuss, as both men dream of an identity somewhat separate from mainland Germany.
  • Cult of Personality: Bouhler will mold a powerful cult of personality, declaring himself numerous titles such as "Father of all Germans".
  • Face–Heel Turn: He was initially a supporter of the democratic government before he turned against them and organized a coup.

Russian Empire

    Russian Empire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/russian_empire_paxbrit_7.png
Flag of the Russian Empire (Democratic)
Flag of the Empire of Holy Russia
Flag of the Russian Imperial Commonality
Flag of the Russian Empire of the Common Man
Flag of the Greater Russian Empire
Official Name: Russian Empire, Transcendant Empire of Holy Russia (Cosmist), Empire of the United Russian Commonality (Commonality Consensus), Russian Empire of the Common Man, Greater Russian Empire (Moscow Circle)
Ruling Party: Transitional National Duma
Ideology: Authoritarian Democracynote
The Russian Empire is the largest contiguous land empire on Earth in 1933; a multi-ethnic empire spanning from the Baltic to the Pacific. The reforms of Alexander II paved the way for Russia during the beginning of the Second Renaissance, but came to a crashing halt with the outbreak of the Great War.

Russia now stands, bloodied but unbowed, and faces an uncertain future as their former German and British allies now stand opposeed to them. The future will belong to the Russian Empire, even if it has to alter itself irreversibly to achieve it.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: The Russian Empire is an imperialist superpower that performs Russification and is allied to France. Though unlike France, Russia can actually become a genuine democracy.
  • Allohistorical Allusion:
    • Russia bears similarities with 1930-40s Imperial Japan.
      • Russia has its own equivalent of Unit 731, it being Area Zero.
      • Russia's Moscow Circle path is similar to Imperial Japan during the 1930s and the 1940s, since both regimes are ultranationalistic, militaristic, and expansionist.
    • Russia also shows similarities to Fascist Italy since both countries were on the winning side, but they gained so little in the peace conference.
    • Russia's path to democratization makes references to the USSR under Mikhail Gorbachev.
  • Balkanize Me: Should Russia lose in the Great War, it will collapse into a three way civil war. While that happens, the Caucasus will collapse into multiple warlord states, Central Asia and Altai will gain independence, Alexander Kolchak will set up an emergency government in Siberia, while Japan and the LON will set up puppet states in Far-Eastern Siberia and Western Russia respectively.
  • The Conspiracy: An elusive group of arch-reactionary and ultranationalist military officers known as the Moscow Circle exists within the Russian military and seeks to undermine the country's democratic institutions. Among the suspected members is field marshal Lavr Kornilov.
  • The Coup: Should Russia become too unstable, general Anton Denikin and aristocrat Felix Yusupov will lead a coup to dethrone the current government and bring the Moscow Circle to power.
  • Deity of Mortal Creation: The Russian Cosmist path involves the creation of the God Engine, not a deity itself but a mean of communication with the Abrahamic god, believed by the Cosmists to speak through technology.
  • The Empire: The Russian Empire is way more powerful than its OTL counterpart and is the second largest empire just behind Britain.
  • Evil Colonialist: In this timeline, Russia has done ruthless colonialism and Russification, making it the closest we get to PBTL’s Imperial Japan. In the cultures map, it shows that Russification was more successful unlike in OTL. Poland and the Baltics are shown to be partially Russified, Ukraine is dominated by Malorussians, while Belarus is completely Russified. Aside from that, they also launched invasions in Mainland China, conquering all of Manchuria and parts of Xinjiang and Mongolia. Lastly, when the First National Awakening erupted in numerous parts of the Russian Empire during the 1920s, they responded by deploying Tesla-devices against their own people to lethal effect. Oh yeah, they also have their own version of Unit 731!
  • Expy: In this timeline, Russia emerged as one of the victors of the Great War. But the Treaty of Tours has led Russia to completely cut ties with its former allies, while becoming more friendly to France. It also does a brutal campaign of colonialism and Russification to a point where cultures like Belarusian are non existent. Does that ring a bell?
  • Foil:
    • They are one to France, since both regimes were screwed over after the Great War and dreams to get revenge against the British and Germans. Though while France is doomed to be an auhoritarian revanchist dictatorship, Russia can potentially reform itself into a genuine democracy, though they still maintain their colonial policies.
    • They are also one to Britain, as both countries are opposing superpowers whose mega corporations dominate their countries and are the main competitors in the Orbit Wars. It is also worth mentioning that both countries still maintain their colonial policies even after Britain reforms itself while Russia democratizes. Though unlike Britain, Russia aligns itself with France and vows to seek revenge against Britain and Germany, whereas Britain does not hold any revanchist policy.
  • Immortality Seeker: One of the Cosmists' objectives is to achieve conquer death through science and technology, overcoming the limitations of the human body.
  • Occupiers Out of Our Country: The Second National Awakening is a revolt from minority nationalities within the Russian Empire seeking independence from it through violent means.
  • State Sec: Like in OTL, the Okhrana exists in the Russian Empire as its state security apparatus but its powers were greatly expanded to combat the Nationalist Rebellions which followed the First National Awakening.
  • The Theocracy: The Russian Cosmists merge Church and State into one.
  • Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: Several nationalist groups from Ukraine, Poland, the Baltics and Finland have declared war on Russia to gain the independence of their country, committing assassinations, bombings and hijackings. The Russian government treats them as terrorists but to some of their countrymen they are liberators from the Russian government's oppressive policies regarding non-Russian populations.

    Divine Kingdom of Portugal
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portugal_4.png
Official Name: Divine Kingdom of Portugal
Ruling Party: Movimento Fatimistanote
Ideology: Religious Fundamentalismnote

  • Hated by All: The Divine Kingdom of Portugal has very limited recognition. Being viewed as too radical by Frankfurt and London, hated by Madrid, and only given reluctant support from the Vatican, since they view them as extremists.
  • The Theocracy: Portugal became this after the Fatimist uprising.

    Holy Order of Spain

Flag of the Federated Kingdom of Spain
Official Name: Holy Order of Spain, Holy Communion of Iberia (Pacte Revanchiste victory)
League of Nations Puppet State: Provisional Kingdom of Spain, Confederal Kingdom of Spain (Windsor monarchy), Federated Kingdom of Spain (Habsburg monarchy)
Ruling Party: Renovación Españolanote
Ideology: Despotism

  • Allohistorical Allusion: The various exclusion zones Spain set up around areas left infested by live wire and contaminated by chemical weapons following the Iberian Campaign are most likely a reference to the French red zones, areas declared off-limits following the First World War due to large amounts of unexploded ordnance, heavy soil pollution from chemical weapons, and large amounts of human and animal remains, some of which remain off-limits to this day.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: They are a brutal dictatorship putting on airs of being a theocracy, but even they dislike the fanatics in Portugal.
  • Forbidden Zone: The aftermath of the Great War left Spain devasted, with its northern regions being invested with livewire. As a result, the government set up livewire exclusion zones in the northern region.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: Spain will take advantage of the desintegration of the Maghreb Concessions Zone to occupy the part in northern Morocco. This ends up causing a war with the Kingdom of Morocco as it wants to retrieve its northern coast.
  • Shocking Defeat Legacy: Spain has gone through a century of humiliation, with the defeat and occupation by the Anglo-American forces during the Great War being only the latest.
  • The Theocracy: After the devastation of the Iberian Campaign during the Great War, Spain fell to the Holy Military Orders in reaction to the Fatimist uprising in neighboring Portugal. However, it is noted that they are actually closer to a traditional junta putting on airs of being knightly orders, as shown by their starting ideology, unlike Portugal, being Despotism rather than Religious Fundamentalism.

    Bishopic of Andorra
Official Name: Bishopic of Andorra
Ruling Party: Grup Nacionalista Integralnote
Ideology: Conservatism

  • Only Sane Man: Of the three Iberian theocracies, Andorra is the only one that isn't a brutal dictatorship ruled by fanatics that the rest of the Catholic Church dislikes or a brutal dictatorship run by people pretending to be fanatics, instead being a democratic, constitutional monarchy that, due to the quirks of history, has a bishop for a monarch.
  • The Theocracy: Downplayed. Because the British and Germans wanted to punish the French in every way possible following the Great War, Andorra has gone from a Co-Principality ruled by a Spanish Bishop and the French President to being an independent Bishopric. However, outside of removing one of the co-princes, the government mostly functions the same as it did before, with most actual governing being done by the elected General Council, making it closer to a constitutional monarchy whose ruler happens to be a bishop than a full-on theocracy like Spain or Portugal. Tellingly, one of the major issues they are dealing with is a massive refugee crisis caused by people fleeing the Fatimist theocracies in Portugal and Spain.
