    Prince Stafford Baratheon

Prince Stafford Baratheon

The Demon's Headsman, The Fiend Axeman

An Original Character and main character of Ours Is the Fury, Stafford is the second son of King Robert Baratheon and Queen Cersei Lannister and their only trueborn child.

  • Arranged Marriage: With Arya Stark.
  • Black Knight: Appears at the Hand’s tourney as a mystery knight named Howland.
  • Blood Knight: Loves combat just as much as his father does, to the point of going 15 rounds of practice melee fighting in a day and practically beating himself senseless.
  • Generation Xerox: Stafford is one for his father Robert. Physical resemblance, like for food and alcohol, romance with Stark girls... It actually grates on Stafford a little, since he's always being compared to his father.
  • Hot-Blooded: Stafford has the famous fury of House Baratheon and it shows. Multiple times. Unlike Joffrey who will usually react with whining and screaming, Stafford will hit. With Joffrey typically on the receiving end. It’s not quite Hair-Trigger Temper, since Joffrey seems to be the main thing that can set him off.
  • Mood-Swinger: Has two reactions to things: a jovial side like the rays of the sun, or Unstoppable Rage like molten stone.
  • Sibling Rivalry: With Joffrey. By the time the story begins, the rivalry is so bitter that Robert and Cersei are both trying to stop the boys fighting.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Stafford bears a strong resemblance to his uncle Stannis, particularly when he frowns.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: When it comes to jousting. Stafford’s technique boils down to sheer concentration and determination, as jousters typically look away at the point of contact. Stafford doesn’t, giving him an advantage in aim, but risking wood splinters hitting him in the eyes.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Chapters 20 onward has Stafford catching flack from all sides for giving his crown of roses to Sansa and then breaking his promises to Arya, who was his betrothed.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Agrees with Varys and Littlefinger to have Daenerys Targaryen assassinated.

    Odyn Sand

Odyn Sand

Another Original Character. A bastard son of Oberyn Martell, Odyn is in King's Landing posing as an assistant blacksmith for Tobho Mott, alongside Gendry.

  • Interclass Friendship: With Margaery Tyrell.
  • Made of Iron: He's perfectly fine after practically getting gutted by Karl Tanner.
  • My Nayme Is: Odyn instead of Odin.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: Odyn's first scene involves waking up after spending a night in a brothel. He doesn't even remember the name of the whore he bedded... and he took her virginity.

    Ellion

Ellion

The third POV Original Character. A young man who is the protege of Jon Connington, he is sent to entreaty with Daenerys Targaryen.

  • The Apprentice: For Jon Connington.
  • Conspicuous Gloves: Wears a pair of gloves while indoors to hide his greyscale scars.
  • Old Friend: Of Daenerys Targaryen. He has fond memories of their time in Volantis, where she spent a year.
  • Scars Are Forever: Ellion has greyscale scars on the left side of his body. Indoors, he typically wears gloves to disguise his hands.
  • Smart People Play Chess: Ellion carries a cyrvasse board with him wherever he goes. He challenges Daenerys Targaryen to a game.
