Werewolves
Werewolves are Night People who can turn into large wolves at will (they apparently don't need the full moon to transform). They are believed to be descended from wolf shapeshifters originally, but overtime evolved into their own species and are now seen as being separate from shapeshifters. Humans can be turned into werewolves (apparently through a bite, though the details are vague).

     Jeremy Lovett

Jeremy Lovett

Appears in: Daughters of Darkness

"Werewolves are much better. You'll understand when I show you. The moon looks so beautiful when you're a wolf."

A resident of Briar Creek, who lives in a trailer on the outskirts of town and is seen as something of an outsider. He is good friends with Mary-Lynette, who has a crush on him - the feeling is apparently mutual.

  • Bad People Abuse Animals: He kills one of Mrs Burdock's goats to try and scare her nieces into leaving, and killed a horse simply because he was angry and wanted to take it out on someone.
  • Beneath the Mask: He seems to be a Nice Guy, if not something of a loner...until The Reveal.
  • Cock Fight: Ends up in one with Ash over Mary-Lynette, though not quite in the usual way. Jeremy is trying to kill Ash to get rid of the competition and is also trying to forcibly turn Mary-Lynette into a werewolf, which Ash doesn't take well. He's not so much fighting Jeremy over Mary-Lynette's affections as he is trying to protect her from Jeremy's Ax Crazyiness.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: To Mary-Lynette; he's always helpful, kind and protective of her, though never overly pushy. It becomes a lot creepier when it turns out he's Ax-Crazy and dangerously obsessed with her.
  • Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: It's implied he may have hunted and killed humans.
  • If I Can't Have You…: When Mary-Lynette rejects him, he has a Villainous Breakdown and tries to kill her.
  • Insecure Love Interest: He later admits he struggled to tell Mary-Lynette how he truly felt and hid the fact he was a werewolf from her, because he was afraid she would reject him, though at the same time he thought that she could be the "the one person who might not be afraid".
  • Interspecies Romance: He's in love with Mary-Lynette, a human, and she herself has a bit of a crush on him. However, it ultimately doesn't work out because Mary-Lynette's soulmate is Ash, among other factors.
  • Kill It with Fire: He burns to death in Mary-Lynette's truck, after being stabbed by her with a silver knife.
  • Loners Are Freaks: He's seen as this by much of the town, save for Mary-Lynette. As it turns out, everyone else was right.
  • Love Hungry: Turns out to be for Mary-Lynette's love, though he initially hides it.
  • Love Makes You Crazy / Love Makes You Evil: Though he wasn't a nice person before, his attempt to forcibly turn Mary-Lynette into a werewolf is motivated by his twisted love for her.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname means "wolf cub".
  • Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: He's a hardworking Nice Guy, who is unfairly judged by the rest of the town for being poor and leading a somewhat unconventional lifestyle. It's majorly subverted by the end; he's actually a budding Serial Killer and decidedly not sane.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: His motivation for trying to kill Ash.
  • Nephewism: He was raised by his uncle after his parents died, until he disappeared. It's later revealed Jeremy murdered his uncle because he didn't like him curbing his conspicuous hunting.
  • The Reveal: That he's a werewolf. And that he's a serial killer and Mrs Burdock's murderer.
  • Romantic False Lead: To Mary-Lynette, seeing as Ash is revealed to be her soulmate once he turns up.
  • Romantic Runner-Up: To Ash for Mary-Lynette. He doesn't take it well.
  • Tom the Dark Lord: He's revealed to be the Big Bad of Daughters of Darkness; a murderous, bloodthirsty and increasingly unhinged werewolf...and he's called Jeremy.
  • Unlucky Childhood Friend: To Mary-Lynette. They've been friends for many years and they're indicated to have a crush on each other, but they never moved past the 'friendship' stage and it turns out Mary-Lynette's One True Love is Ash Redfern.
  • Walking Spoiler: His character reveals huge spoilers for Daughters of Darkness.
  • Working-Class Werewolves: He's a teen werewolf who lives in a trailer in the woods, works as a gas station attendant and handyman to earn money and has clothes that "aren't as nice as some of the other kids'". His uncle, who was also a werewolf, lived in the trailer too and spent his time dowsing for gold in the wilderness before disappearing.
  • Would Hit a Girl: He killed Mrs Burdock, knocks out and tries to forcibly turn/kill Mary-Lynette, and may have intended to kill the Redfern sisters.

     Lupe Acevedo

Lupe Acevedo

Appears in: Soulmate

A werewolf operative who works for Thierry.

  • Action Girl: She's one of Thierry's best agents and serves as a bodyguard to both Thierry and Hannah, doing a great job singlehandedly fighting off a werewolf much bigger and stronger than her.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's generally a kind and enthusiastic person, but she's also a werewolf capable of fighting off other wolves and vampires who threaten her employer and his soulmate.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Her Establishing Character Moment involves her leaping through a window to put herself between Hannah and another werewolf who had attacked her.
  • Child of Forbidden Love: Lupe's parents were a werewolf and a human, who broke one of the Night World's most serious laws.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: When she was a child, she and her family were marked for death by fellow werewolves, because her mother broke the Night World's laws by falling in love with a human man. Lupe and her mother were rescued and given shelter by Thierry, but her father was killed.
  • Eyes Never Lie: When Hannah looks into her eyes (whilst she's in her werewolf form) she sees humanity and intelligence there, making her realise that Lupe is protecting her. She also partially recognizes Lupe in her human form due to her eyes, though she's not certain until Lupe explains they've met before.
  • Glass Cannon: Due to being smaller and less muscular, Lupe is at a disadvantage against another werewolf sent after Hannah Snow and quickly gets into trouble when he gets his jaws around her. However, she can keep fighting through her injuries and later reports to Thierry that that the other wolf ultimately came off worse.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Reveals that she's technically a "half breed" - her mother is a full werewolf whilst her father was human. He was executed by the Night World as a result, though Lupe and her mother were rescued by Thierry.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is Spanish for wolf.
  • Nice Girl: She's very cheerful and friendly.
  • Plucky Girl: In spite of her tragic past and being quite seriously injured early in Soulmate, she remains as optimistic and determined as ever.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Downplayed. Thus far, Lupe is the only named female werewolf to appear in the series.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: She's said to have "amber" eyes in both her wolf and human forms.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Thierry, largely because he saved her and mother when she was a child and sheltered them from Night People who would've killed them. The fact he's a Benevolent Boss who genuinely cares about her well-being helps too.
