Yuisu is a 21 year old human part time store clerk and a host for the Interspecies Exchange Program from a mountainous town in Japan. After applying on a whim and because of the inherit of both a large house and arches of land she now finds herself hosting more girls than she probably had planned. Still, Yuisu has taken it in stride and seeks to make sure the girls are happy while staying with her. Yuisu has a dream (now in development)of opening an inn on her property. Yuisu is currently a relationship with Haru, one of her homestays.- All Women Are Lustful: She's prone to sexual fantasies and zoning out, and even has a yuri Porn Stash and a body pillow.
- Benevolent Boss: After hiring Sya and Rem, she proves to be a reasonable and understanding boss, despite her inexperience.

Haru

Haru is a raptor harpy in her 20's from a secret snowy hometown and the first homestay of the story. Formerly an Executrix, a military police officer of the Harpy world, Haru ran away from her home after becoming fed up with changes in her job that in her mind went from protecting her people to hurting them. With the help of the Interspecies Exchange Program Haru got a new start at Yuisu's house. Since moving Haru has gotten a job as at the town's local butcher shop and is currently in a relationship with Yuisu, her host.- Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: Her neck is as flexible as an owl's.
- Birthday Episode: Chapter 69 centers on her 24st birthday party.
- Even the Girls Want Her: More than one female has found her attractive.
- Fair Cop: Before joining the Interspecies Exchange Program, she was an Executrix, a military police officer.
- First Girl Wins: Ends up in a relationship with Yuisu.
- Super-Senses: She has highly-developed senses of smell and hearing.
Mara
Mara is a 20 year old small breed arachne from the island of Maratus near Australia and is the second homestay of the story. Mara's reason for the Interspecies Exchange Program remains unknown, but has since made a life at Yuisu's house. Mara is a gamer who while still spending hours online, has since found a new use of her time by enjoying her relationship with Tsuen a fellow homestay. Recently she has began work on her own pop cultural convention, with fellow homestay Chione, based around depictions of liminials both before and after the reveal called ComicMon.
- Embarrassing First Name: She admits she doesn't like being called Maratussa because it's "not very cute."
- Extra Eyes: As an arachne, she has six.
- Gamer Chick: She used to spend most of the time playing video games, but thanks to Tsuen and Chione, she has overcome her agoraphobia and now goes out more.
- Massive Numbered Siblings: She has eleven sisters.
- Older Than They Look: She's twenty years old, but looks fourteen. And according to her, her sisters actually think she looks older.
- Pink Means Feminine: Her hair, arms, abdomen, and legs are pink.
- Polyamory: She and Tsuen decide to enter in this kind of relationship with Rem, since all three like each other.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Girly girl to Tsuen's tomboy.
Tsuen
Tsuen is a lightweight centaur from a hidden village in China and the third homsetay of the story. Tsuen was exiled from her village after her sexuality was discovered and signed up for the Interspecies Exchange Program with no better options. Since moving to Yuisu's house Tsuen has gotten to not only find a job at the local Sports Club Kobold but has also form a relationship with Mara a fellow homestay.
- Broken Bird: Before entering the exchange program, Tsuen confessed to her best friend, who not only spurned her, but informed the village elders, who exiled her from their village.
- Can't Hold His Liquor: In chapter 77, she gets completely plastered on mead.
- Cuteness Proximity: She's the one who finds Little Quess the most adorable.
- Polyamory: She surprisingly agrees with Mara in entering a polyamory relationship with Rem, since all three like each other.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy of Mara's Girly Girl.
- You Can't Go Home Again: She was exiled from her hometown due to her sexuality.
Quess
Quess is a queen pink slime of an unknown age originally thought to be ruler of a subterranean slime kingdom, when it reality she is just a pink slime with stronger abilities, and fourth homestay of the story. Originally Quess found her way to Yuisu's home after hitching a ride from a festival unknowingly to the rest of the group and acted with nobility attitude to play up a false identity. After the air was cleared on who she really was, Quess signed up for the Interspecies Exchange Program and officially became part of the household. Since then she has provided some help in a variety of ways to the household, has formed a relationship with Iormu a fellow homestay, and taken a job at a local flower shop.
- Character Development: Went from a promiscuous trouble-maker, to a responsible mother and shop owner.
- Happily Married: She and Iormu eventually marry.
- Pink Means Feminine
- Sleep-Mode Size: She can shrink herself to a small size, but her intelligence becomes child-like.
Iormu
Iormu is chronically an almost 2000 year old (officially 82) jormungand from an unknown region of the world and the fifth homestay of the story. Before moving into Yuisu's house Iormu spent her time mostly sleeping and using her time awake to experience the ever changing world. Iormu reasons for signing up for the Interspecies Exchange Program remains unknown, but she had to move to Yuisu's house due to issues with her previous host. Since moving into the house, Iormu has learned from her problems and has formed a relationship with Quess, a fellow homestay.
- Happily Married: She and Qwess eventually marry.
- Horned Humanoid: She possesses two gray horns on top of her head.
- Hot Teacher: She eventually gets a job as a teacher, and the high school students hoard her class once her appearance is known.
- Not Good with Rejection: When she's dumped by Antonio, she takes it so hard that she not only crushes a boulder in the hot spring to pebbles with her coils, but sulks in her cabin for an entire week.
- Really 700 Years Old: She was born almost 2000 years ago, but doesn't consider herself that old because she spent most of that time hibernating.
- Snakes Are Sexy: She gets multiple students in her high school classes due to her looks.
- Team Mom: She's the oldest female in the household and tends to be caring and mature.
Chione
Chione is a bubbly gargoyle from France having been a boarding school student and who is the sixth homestay of the story. Chione's reason for joining the Interspecies Exchange Program was to get new experiences by seeing the world beyond her home and school life. Originally very shy, Chione has since put herself out there and has began a relationship with a local mothman named Actia and started working on ComicMon a pop culture convention designed around human media's portrayal of liminals before and after they became public knowledge with fellow homestay Mara.
- Genki Girl: She's very perky and bubbly.
- Not a Morning Person: As a gargoyle, she's nocturnal.Chione: Me and the sun don't get along.
- Our Gargoyles Rock: Like most other monsters in the series, gargoyles are Cute Monster Girls.
- Winged Humanoid: Comes with being a gargoyle.
Mimi
Mimi is a mimic from France, Chione's best friend, and the seventh homestay of the story. As she was not initially accepted into the Exchange Program, Chione smuggled her into Japan, planning for her to escape and go to stay in the city, only for them to end up in Yuisu's mountaintop cabin. After being found out, Mimi becomes an official homestay, but later leaves the house, becoming the homestay of first her brief boyfriend Hajime, and then Brutus Benihana, a bouncer at the Wild Life nightclub, where she works as a bartender.
- Breast Expansion: She can do this at will.
- Chest Monster: Comes with the territory of being a mimic.
- Deadpan Snarker: She has her moments.Yuisu: Are you a liminal too?
Mimi: I'm obviously a mimic. Are you blind or something? - The Illegal: Chione smuggled her into Japan.
- Incompatible Orientation: Chione once had a crush on her, but Mimi is straight.
- Parental Abandonment: Her father died when she was little, and her mother left them when she was born due to The Masquerade.
Pwess
Pwess is the pink queen slime daughter of Quess and Iormu who was born at the Nakahara residence and thus became the eight member of the household. Though still very young Pwess has displayed unique features, inherited from Iormu, such as purple highlights and a snake like tail in addition to the pink queen slime natural rapid growth. Since becoming a member of the house, Pwess has enjoyed the love and care of everyone.
- Shapeshifter Default Form: She usually appears in the form of a Jormungand like Iormu.
- Younger Than They Look: Since slimes mature much faster than humans she looks like a four-year old despite being six-months old.
Aluru
Aluru is an Alraune and the most recent addition to the household. She had a fling with Qwess in the past, but unlike the slime, she hasn't grown as a person and remains a shameless skirt-chaser.
- All Women Are Lustful: Deconstructed with her; Aluru lies and uses pheromones on a mermaid liminal to have sex with her, then tosses her aside the next day. This causes problems for Yuisu, as the liminal was a contractor for Korbin, helping him with the ski lodge. Although Yuisu warns Aluru about continuing such behavior, Yuisu thinks that she's going to have to keep an eye on her.
- Laser-Guided Karma: She uses pheromones to seduce Rui and then cruelly tosses her aside the next day, and it's heavily implied that she's been doing such things for quite a while. When she has a one-night stand with Kriia and tries to push the issue and control her, Kriia quickly sees through her tricks and literally throws her out of the cabin.Kriia: Rack off, Aluru. And improve your attitude, if you know what's good for you. The next liminal capable of killing you might not hold themselves back.
- Plant Person: She's an alraune.
- Shadow Archetype: Aluru clearly represents what Quess would have become had she not met Iormu and given birth to Pwess. During their brief reunion in chapter 110, Quess is anything but pleased by Aluru reminding her of what she once was.
- Took a Level in Kindness: After her Break the Haughty experience with Kriia, she becomes more helpful and far less promiscuous, she even seems willing to call back her flings.
Sya
A white tiger woman that is hired as maid for the Mountain Lily inn alongside Rem. Her full name is Anastasya Elena Nadezhda.
- The Ojou: She gives the aura of a princess.
- The Reliable One: Much like Rem, she's pretty reliable as a worker and as maid.
- Statuesque Stunner: She's nearly 6 ft tall.
- Younger Than They Look: Despite her height, she's only 17 years old.
Rem
A gremlin girl hired as a second maid alongside Sya. Because of her tiny size she's actually allowed to live at the inn in a closet.
- Dark and Troubled Past: As it turned out, her original host essentially treated her as a plaything and knew enough about gremlins to prevent her from using her magic. She then found out that he had... other things in mind for her, even showing her pornographic images of tiny women being raped. Eventually, she was able to contact someone, and the MON Squad got her out of there. The events left traumatic residue on her, particularly to the point that she steals food from the inn due to her paranoia surrounding eating.
- Older Than They Look: Because of her small size, she doesn't look her 21 years old.
- Polyamory: She eventually finds herself in love with Mara and Tsuen, and both actually agree in having this relationship with her.
- Stronger Than They Look: Despite her size (15 inches) she can jump pretty high and can carry things heavier than she is.
Hakuto
An Inaba Hare who, centuries ago, was tricked into taking over as the spirit of Yuisu's mountain by a tengu. She spent most of her time hibernating, hoping to eventually pawn her burden off on someone else, before being awakened by the constant sexual acts of the guests at the Mountain Lily Inn and being invited to join the Exchange Program.
- God Job: She was tricked into becoming the land god of Yuisu's mountain by the then-god, a tengu, and is not happy with it.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: She can take the form of an ordinary white rabbit.
- Wrong Context Magic: She's easily the most magical being Yuisu has met so far, and when compared to Yuki and Rem, her powers are far greater.
Side Characters:
Agent Will
Agent Will is the Cultural Exchange Coordinator of the Okayado region where the story takes place. Something absent minded when handling business related to the Nakahara household, Will cares for all members of the household and is willing to hear out the girls when issues arise. Will has also provided official (such helping with exchange members finding jobs)and unofficial( allowing Yuisu and Haru to have a relationship off the record) help to the house in hope to they can start fresh and enjoy their lives without the prosecution of their sexuality.
- Expy: He has several similarities to Agent Smith from the main Monster Musume series. Like Smith, he tends to be a lazy goofball, and often tends to dump homestays on Yuisu without informing her ahead of time. That being said, he's considerably more responsible than Smith, and unlike Smith's relationship with Kimihito, he doesn't bum off Yuisu for free food.
- Official Couple: With Koharu, Haru's mother, which is rather awkward for Haru.
Yamato
Yamato is a local who originally was introduce as a cashier at the local grocery store that Yusiu and Haru visited early on in the story.From there hebecomes a friend to the Nakahara household after his own homestay/evenutal girlfriend Misaki causes mischief and joins them for fun whenever he can be for a party or being dragged along to spy on a date.
- Ridiculously Average Guy: He's not particularly outstanding when it comes to looks.
Misaki
Misaki is a yatagarasu or a crow-type harpy who is a homestay under Yamato and eventually his girlfriend who displays the harpy's short attention span and memory which often gets her into trouble. She is introduce during the time when the girls are building a hot spring where she is unintentionally stealing supplies, but eventually becomes friends with the household and has fun with them when they let her spend time at the house.
- Sticky Fingers: She likes to steal shiny objects.
Korbin
Korbin is a male kobold who owns the local branch of Sports Club Kobold and eventually boss of Tsuen after she starts working there. A nice business man who loves the town who hopes to help it flourish by building not only a Sports Club Kobold and ski resort that hire local liminals, but also invest in Yuisu's dream of opening a inn to get more business to come in.
- Benevolent Boss: He treats his employees well, and even ensures they get time off for Christmas.
- Honest Corporate Executive: He owns both Sports Club Kobold and the Wild Life, and also has plans to open a ski resort, all out of his love for Okayado and desire to see it flourish. He even invests in Yuisu's inn for this reason.
Froze
Froze is a fenrir member of the Canada Exchange Program who temporary stays at the Nakahara household under a international exchange program due to her causing trouble for her host, but who really just misunderstood. She quickly bonds with fellow carnivore Haru and comes to enjoy her time at the Nakahara household after a crazy sleepover. At the end of her stay she starts a relationship with fellow exchange member Kehp.
- The Bus Came Back: She returns to Yuisu's house after feeling lonely, since Kehp had been traveling offshore very often.
- Howl of Sorrow: In chapter 89, she lets several out, missing Kehp terribly.
Kehp
Kehp is a pan faun member of the the Canada Exchange Program who temporary stays at the Nakahara household under a international exchange program due to not getting the most out experience so far due to her shyness and fear of men. She eventually gets over both thanks to a shearing session with Froze and a crazy sleepover. At the end of her stay she begins a relationship with fellow exchange member Froze,
- Does Not Like Men: She's scared of men to the extent that she refuses multiple taxi rides because all of the drivers were male. When she meets Agent Will, she panics and runs.
