Main Characters
Melina "Midge" Amelia Mayhan, the protagonist
- A Friend in Need: To almost any of her friends, she's willing to be there for her friends no matter what.
- Alliterative Name: Her name and surname both start with M: Melina Mayhan, and she goes by "Midge".
- Author Appeal: She writes her very first book call Living in My Sister's Shadow, which becomes a huge success.
- Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: The Beauty.

- Meaningful Name: Her birth name, Melina, technically means "bright yellow" in Greek. Her parents kind of expected their daughter to have beautiful blonde hair when she was born and that her name would represent her being a natural blonde.

- Oblivious to Love: In the first two seasons, she clearly had no idea that Anson was in love with her.

- The Ace: She was very athlectic in school. When she was in elementary school, she played on the girls' softball team, in middle school, on the swim team and in high school, she was on track & field, lacrosse, played basketball for a while and was on the cheer squad.
- Action Girl: For a girl, she definitely knows how to kick some serious ass.
- Big Sister Instinct: She ultimately showed shades of this by almost destroying Cynthia when she kept on bullying Midge at her party.
- Celebrity Crush: Has a huge crush on Joey Lawrence and Kirk Cameron.

- Cool Car: She drives a shiny, red sports car that's very expensive, compared to Midge's yellow one.

- Custom Uniform of Sexy: During the earlier seasons, her wardrobe choices consisted of provocative, skimpier outfits that bared a bit too much of her midriff, but in her defense, it was the style trend of the late '90s/early '00s that catched on to teenage girls and young women.
