Evenfall
- Ambiguously Gay: Notably, some of her interactions with Raven show her admiring the latter's beauty and thinking she's cute.
- Clone Angst: Is rather upset about the prospect of being a Replacement Goldfish Pony Weapon to Twilight Sparkle.
- Evil Doppelgänger: Appears to be on this path in regards to Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle
- All-Loving Hero: It's this trait that sparked Lightning's character development, and also what attracted him post mortem.
- Back from the Dead: Comes back to life through Eve, only in her original pony form.
Pinkie Pie
- All-Loving Hero: She triggers Kitty's Heel–Face Turn by offering to forgive her and give her a second chance at friendship.
- Breaking the Fellowship: Is separated from her friends to work with the zebras by Starfleet at the beginning of the fic.
- Genki Girl: True to her character, Pinkie fits this trope, especially when compared to Maud.
- Token Good Teammate: Out of the Starfleet military assigned to Zebrica, Pinkie and Maud are among the few members who actually care about the zebras.
Fluttershy
- Domestic Abuse: Suffers emotional abuse from Rhymey, who controls who she can be with and gets mad when she complains about it.
Rainbow Dash
- Survivor's Guilt: Is devastated over Twilight's death, as well as her separation from her remaining friends.
Lightning Dawn
- Adaptational Heroism: He's considerably more distraught over Twilight's death than in canon, and also defects from Starfleet.

- Heel–Face Turn: Defects from Starfleet.
Grand Ruler Celesto
- Abusive Parents: Poor Leilani, you know he's a bad father to her when he calls Starla the closest he has to a daughter. He mostly abuses her for her disabilities.
- Adaptational Villainy: Granted, it's not that big of a difference, but here, his more morally questionable actions and traits are put in the spotlight. Also, he holds even more contempt for friendship than his canon counterpart.
- Related in the Adaptation: Here, he's one of Titan's creations, along with Raven.
Starla Shine
- Adaptational Villainy: One of the primary antagonists of the fic, driven by her jealousy towards Twilight.
- Awful Wedded Life: She and Lightning turn out to be incompatible. She leaves him after he starts growing feelings for the deceased Twilight.
- Undying Loyalty: To Starfleet, she considers herself a role model for it and strives to be such.
- Yandere: She demonizes Twilight and, when somepony seems to be her, Starla tries to murder her because Lightning has feelings for her.
