Main Characters

    The Protagonist

The Protagonist

The redheaded youth whose corpse is discovered by Igor and taken to Dr. Minche's laboratory in Crying Mama. While Dr. Minche manages to revive him, he has no collection of who he was before the revival. He sets off on a journey in order to find out his true identity and soon gets wrapped up in the struggle that may change the fate of Judgment Valley, the setting of the game.

It is later revealed that the hero was once a normal hunter who was experimented on by Gratonos and became the No. 3 of Clan Coldblood, Bladetooth. During the fight against the famous bounty hunter Ozma, Bladetooth regained his senses and transformed back into a human. He then swore to get his revenge on Gratonos but failed and perished as a result, which led to the above-mentioned revival and amnesia.

  • Amnesiac Hero: The good part of the game is spent trying to recover his memories.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: This is implied to be what happened to him during his time as Bladetooth, the No. 3 of Clan Coldblood.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: Zigzagged. While the player can make a name for the character, you have to choose among the three names, which all start with "Drumcan", after the main character saves Cola from thugs during the game's prologue. After awhile, you can either choose to stick with "Drumcan" name or go with the name you created when you started the game.
  • Jack of All Trades: As a hunter, he is this. In fact, with his higher HP and strength growths and transformation ability, he is more effective in melee than normal hunters.
  • Our Werebeasts Are Different: He can transform into a sabertooth man.
  • Red Is Heroic: Has a fiery red hair and is the main character of the game.
  • Unwitting Test Subject: A human who was given Metamorph cells which turned him into Bladetooth.

    Cola Ginsky

Cola Ginsky

The daughter of Richard Ginsky, the ruler of the city Shelter. The beautiful girl with some serious Tomboy streaks, she is set to be married off to Taromeo, the leader of Rusty Maiden, but violently rejects it, wishing to be free. She is targeted by Clan Coldblood due to great resemblance to her aunt Alieze, which led Gratonos to believe that Cola is Alieze's reincarnation.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: When you meet her again after the prologue, she starts off cold (due to your rejecting her offer to run away together) but slowly warms up to you.
  • Damsel in Distress: Near the end of the game, she gets captured by Gratonos and the player has to rescue her.
  • Non-Standard Game Over: The game will end if the protagonist accepts Cola's proposal to run off together during the prologue.
  • Rebellious Princess: She starts out as this.
  • Tsundere: It takes awhile for her to show affection to the protagonist but it is obvious that she is quite smitten with him.

Friends and Allies

    Kasumi

Kasumi

The former soldier who has since retired due to her old age and sickness. She takes Cola under her wing after seeing her wander aimlessly in Puerto Mori, teaching her how to survive.
  • Never Mess with Granny: While she is nowhere near as good as she used to be due to old age and illness, she is far from helpless as thugs from Clan Coldblood learn the hard way.
  • Parental Substitute: Kasumi is a much better parent figure than Cola's actual parents.
  • Red Baron: She was once a famous soldier known as the Explosive Kasumi. Even Ozma, the well-known bounty hunter himself, knows her.

    Ozma

Ozma

The famous bounty hunter who is accompanied by many dogs.

Clan Coldblood

    General
The group of thugs who terrorize Judgment Valley, the setting of the game.
  • Always Chaotic Evil: There is not a single sympathetic member of the group in the game, save for Bladetooth
  • Expy: Of the Grapplers in Metal Max 2. Like the Grapplers, Clan Coldblood often kidnaps people to use them as guinea pigs for their experiments and is secretly led by the Mad Scientist who is from the era before the Great Annihilation. Also, Clan Coldblood's chief enforcers, Clan Numbers, share some characteristics and roles in the story with the Grappler Emperors.

    Dominguez

Dominguez

The raid-leader of Clan Coldblood. It is his attack on Cola's escorts that reveals some important information about the main character's past.
  • Chainsaw Good: Yields a chainsaw to deadly effects.
  • Dirty Coward: Runs away after the party defeats him on foot, luring them into a trap where he can ambush with his vehicle. The party can choose to avoid this and ambush him instead.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: The first fight against him is unwinnable.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Had he not attacked Cola and her escorts which include the main character, Cola would have been sent off to Rusty Maiden to get married and the main character would not have discovered that he used to be Bladetooth, the No.3 of Clan Coldblood.
  • Starter Villain: The first major villain the main character has to defeat in order to access most of the world map.

    Almeida

Almeida

The former member of the Boiling Scarecrow who betrayed the group to become a high-ranking member of Clan Coldblood.
  • Dirty Coward: He uses the exact same tactic as Dominguez after losing a melee battle against the party. Fitting as they are fought at the exact same place.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: His Fatal Flaw along with Love Makes You Evil. Instead of trying to develop his own identity, he always tries to mimic someone whom he looks up to.
  • Love Makes You Evil: His obsession with Evelyn resulted in his ratting out the Boiling Scarecrow to Clan Coldblood, which dealt the crippling defeat to the Boiling Scarecrow and caused it to become a shell of its former self.
  • Wolverine Claws: His weapons. He does this to imitate Bladetooth after seeing Bladetooth's taking down Zane.

    Sintipede

Sintipede

The No.3 of Clan Coldblood who took over Bladetooth's spot after the latter's presumed death.

    Auroch

Auroch

The No.2 of Clan Coldblood who has conquered the city of Elurus, ruling it with an iron fist.
  • Back from the Dead: You do face him as a Zombie in a sidequest in the same place you fought him, no tank phase like the first time you fight him.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: He's in the process of torturing Daphne for the information on Bladetooth when the party comes to fight him and liberate Elurus.
  • Graceful Loser: He takes his defeat in stride and compliments the party before dying.
  • Our Minotaurs Are Different: He's a black bovine humanoid.

    Olga Mode

Olga Mode

The No.1 of Clan Coldblood whose authority in the group is second only to its leader Gratonos.
  • Charm Person: She can charm characters, which can result in instant game over if all characters except the dog get charmed.
  • Combat Tentacles: In her octopus form, she can attack using her tentacles.
  • The Dragon: The right-hand woman of Gratonos.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: Wears a pair of glasses and is absolutely ruthless. In fact, her glasses is one of the drops you can get from beating her.
  • Master of Disguise: Her specialty.
  • One-Winged Angel: Turns into an octopus-woman once she sustains enough damage in a human form.
  • Psycho Electro: She can electrify someone in her octopus form, which has a chance to paralyze him/her. Doubly annoying as paralysis does not wear off with time and if all party members except the dog get paralyzed, it is instant game over.
  • Psycho Supporter: She even betrayed her father to become a test-subject on the Metamorph Cell for Gratonos.
  • Stone Wall: In her octopus form, she can harden herself which causes all but sonic and gas attacks to deal miniscule damage to her until she goes back to normal. She also regenerates small portion of her HP each turn while in this state.

The Mastermind - Spoilers are unmarked

Gratonos

The leader of Clan Coldblood. He was once a scientist named Dr. Grey who worked for King Ginsky as part of the project involving the Metamorph Cell to create Super-Soldier. However, when he fell in love with Alieze Ginsky, King's daughter, King ordered both of their deaths. Alieze died but Dr. Grey injected the Metamorph Cell into his own system in a last ditch effort to save himself. Revived as Gratonos, he became consumed with vengeance against the Ginski family. To that end, he built Clan Coldblood to gather test subjects for further research on the Metamorph Cell and find the way to harness the power of Jagannath, the submarine with Wave-Motion Gun built to fight Noah.
  • Big Bad: As the leader of Clan Coldblood, he is responsible for much of the destruction that occurs throughout the game.
  • Hypocrite: For all his claims to have surpassed human emotions and become a superior being, his main motivation is revenge which is very humane. Also, despite seeing Cola as the reincarnation of his dead lover Alieze, he has no problem experimenting on Cola, creating clones of her and injecting those clones with the Metamorph Cell, once he gets his hands on her.
  • Mad Scientist: He uses Clan Coldblood to gather test subjects for his twisted experiments on the Metamorph Cell.
  • Older Than They Look: While he looks like he is in his 20's, he is actually a person from the time before the Great Annihilation. This is likely due to the Metamorph Cell.
  • One-Winged Angel: Transforms into a three-headed monstrosity once the party manages to destroy his Weapon of Mass Destruction as the final attempt to destroy them.
  • Prehensile Hair: He can use his hair to capture or attack someone.
  • Revenge: To the Ginsky family as whole for murdering his lover Alieze.
  • Take Over the World: His other motivation for seeking the power of Jagannath.
  • Walking Spoiler: It is difficult to talk about him without spoiling much of the end game.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: It is heavily implied that while injecting the Metamorph Cell saved his life, it destroyed much of his sanity in the process, resulting in a monstrous being obsessed with vengeance.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no problem testing the Metamorph Cell on children.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Goes into this after the party wrecks the core of Jagannath, causing it to self-destruct.
