Aura of Emerald Witches

    Claudia
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Warrior
Height and Weight: 158cm / 43kg
Blood Type: A
Birthday: 9/27
Lament: Own Way (JP by SERRA; EN)
Voiced by: Chika Anzai (JP);

A descendent of a legendary Dual Wielding swordsmaster, Claudia has been working hard to carve out a legend of her own to outshine her ancestor. But just as she had accomplished the first step in doing so, she contracts a deadly disease. A warrior who gets excited when fighting strong opponents, she chooses life on the battlefield despite her ill health.

  • Blood Knight: Claudia loves fighting strong opponents; the stronger the better. Her skills in-game also involve her dealing more damage the less HP she has.
  • Delicate and Sickly: She contracts a disease that leaves her with 6 months at most to live. It doesn't stop her from wanting to fight though. At the end of her Memory Story, Claudia vows to make the most of what time she has left after joining the Successor's estate to create her own legend worthy of being on par or better than her famous ancestor.
  • Dual Wielding: Her preferred fighting style.
  • Famous Ancestor: Claudia's ancestor was a famous swordmaster. Claudia herself has vowed to create a legend more extraordinary than her ancestor.
  • Goal in Life: To be a better warrior than her family's founder.

    Cordie
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Sniper
Height and Weight: 149cm / 41kg
Blood Type: B
Birthday: 5/31
Lament: Blue Rose (JP by Haruna Luna; EN by Splendiferachie)
Voiced by: Aya Suzaki (JP); Valerie Schrementi (EN)

"Come one, come all! Feast your eyes on the world's greatest gunslinger!"

Originating from the Kingdom of Galia, Cordie is a former gunslinger from a travelling circus who left to stop the rampaging Curses and bring back her audience's smiles. Cordie adores the spotlight and loves making people happy, but also finds joy in bewildering others with her words.

Cordie uses her skill with her guns to put smiles on people's faces while defending the world from the Curses. Her 1st active "The Quick & The Dead" utilizes her specialized quick shot performances to deal 4 physical attacks equal to up to 570% of her ATK to random enemies and at lvl 2 also increases her ATK by 50% for 1 turn. Picking up speed to turn her rapid-fire shots into an acrobatic performance, Cordie uses her 2nd active "Fanning Shots" to deal 1 physical attack equal to up to 520% of her ATK to 5 random enemies with the attack being a guaranteed Critical Hit if the enemy already has a debuff at lvl 2, and the thrill she experiences greatly boosts her focus by multiplying the skill's damage by up to 2 if her remaining HP percentage is 50% and below.

With onlookers unable to take their eyes off Cordie, her senses heighten and her 1st passive "All Eyes on Me!" increases her ATK by up to 40% and at higher levels also increases her DEF Break by the same amount. Cordie also uses her 2nd passive "Smoke and Gunpowder" once every 3 turns to grant herself [Unhindered] for a turn, which at lvl 3 straight up becomes [Debuff Immunity].

Once Cordie's reunited with her beloved pistols "Jack & Pot", "The Quick & The Dead" decreases all targets' DEF by 80% before dealing the physical attacks for 1 turn, increases both that and [Increased ATK]'s turns to 2 and said physical attacks are increased to 5.

On 14 August 2023, Cordie received a Yukata variant "[Summer's Reverb]" as a Aura of Crimson witch. For tropes related to her, see her tab here.

  • Circus Brat: Prior to joining the Successor in saving the world, she was this. She's very beloved by her troop and her audience though.
  • Dual Wielding: Cordie fights with dual pistols. Apparently if she's to be believed if she doesn't use them equally the lesser-used pistol will get sulky. Doubles with Guns Akimbo.
  • Girls with Guns: A Witch whose main weapons are her pistols.
  • Gun Fu: She used to perform with her pistols, so it's assumed that she still does this when in actual combat.
  • Gun Twirling: Cordie does this with one of her pistols in her 4th Memory animation before firing off both of them with a smile.
  • The Gunslinger: Her former profession in the circus before joining the Successor to stop the Curses.
  • Handguns: Cordie wields 2 pistols "Jack" and "Pot" in her performances and combat, and it's these 2 that serve as her Unique Weapon.
  • I Call It "Vera": Her two pistols are named Jack and Pot.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Hits like a truck and is the fastest Witch to date, to the point where if she's developed well enough and has the appropriate supports, she can serve as a One-Man Army. No wonder the playerbase loves her gameplay-wise.
  • No-Sell: Once Cordie reaches level 221, her 2nd passive "Smoke and Gunpowder" goes from granting her [Unhindered] for 2 turns to outright [Debuff Immunity].
    Fia
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Warrior
Height and Weight: 161cm / 46kg
Blood Type: O
Birthday: 2/23
Lament: Ash Pile (JP by amane; EN)
Voiced by: Lynn (JP); Dayeanne Hutton (EN)

A witch with immortality who continues to live despite losing everyone she loved. While searching for death she befriended another witch with "cursed power" but little did she know that their friendship was a fleeting one once again.

In combat, Fia puts her immortality to good use by increasing her allies' HP. Her first active "Life Reaver" has Fia steal her opponent's lifeforce and merges it with her own by increasing her HP drain by up to 40% for up to 3 turns and deals 1 physical attack equal to up to 480% of her ATK to 3 random enemies. Her 2nd active "Grim Retribution" delivers that on Fia's enemies by dealing 1 direct attack equal to a max. of 20% of the total damage taken by her over the past 20 turns to up to 3 random enemies.

With "The Power Over Death", Fia's 1st passive of that name spreads her durability to her allies by increasing the max HP of up to 2 adjacent allies by 20% of her max. HP, then increases her own max. HP by up to 100%. Meanwhile, Fia's 2nd passive "The Power She Left Me" utilizes the power the Witch of Murder left her to increase the Counter of the ally with the lowest SPD by up to 10% for a max. of 2 turns, but if Fia herself is the recipient of the passive her Counter will increase by up to 30% and starting from level 2, if Fia is attacked, her HP will be restored by 20% of the damage taken (up to 10% of her max. HP) unless said attack defeats her.

With Fia's Unique Weapon "Helpless Ingot", "Life Reaver"'s range is increased to 5 random enemies, "The Power Over Death" increases the HP of the 2 adjacent allies by 50% of Fia's max. HP and "The Power She Left Me" will restore Fia's HP by 30% of the damage she takes (up to 15% of her max. HP).

Notably as part of the 2nd Summer Campaign, she's given for free to all players like Natasha.

  • Blessed with Suck: Oh very much so. Fia's immortality meant that she would always live to see her loved ones die and leave her behind. Befriending the Witch of Murder did have a way to end her life for good but she decided to live on for her friend's sake for a little while longer.
  • Expy: Appearance-wise she resembles a fusion of Fio and Hina Akagi, but has a similar personality as Peridot.
  • Feel No Pain: Because of her immortality, Fia's grown numb to all sorts of pain especially when the Church has executed her an untold number of times. Played for Laughs in one of her homescreen lines where she threatens to make the Successor watch her stab herself over and over with her sword until he takes a break.
  • Meaningful Name: Fia's name is derived from the Irish prefix "Fionn" which means white. Fia herself is decked in white clothes and has white hair.
  • Mystical White Hair: She has white hair and she's an immortal witch.
  • No Social Skills: Fia doesn't socialize much because most of her friendships don't end well, and the questions she gets at the Successor's estate irritates her. According to one of her voice lines, the Successor possibly used Puppy-Dog Eyes to get her to have dinner with the other witches.
  • Resurrective Immortality: Her specific brand of immortality.
  • Sarcastic Devotee: She's as loyal to the Successor as any other witch under his estate but Fia's immortality means that she's had time to develop her own sense of sarcasm and dry wit.
  • Time Abyss: Since she's an immortal and all.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: Because Fia's powers were born as a wish to survive and were not thought out well when her family was attacked by bandits, Fia is not happy about being granted immortality.

    Ivy
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Sniper
Height and Weight: 138cm / 36kg
Blood Type: AB
Birthday: 5/5
Lament: My Favorite Red (JP by Yura Hatsuki; EN)
Voiced by: Aoi Koga (JP); Sarah Blandy (EN)

A innocent girl who loves playing with dolls and is never seen without her favourite named Emma, Ivy's life revolves an abnormal obsession with the colour red ever since a certain incident in her life.

Ivy will stop at nothing to achieve the perfect shade of red with Emma's help. Ivy's 1st active "Emma, Attack!" has her command Emma to deal 1 physical attack equal to up to 530% of her ATK to 3 random enemies. But since she thinks that they aren't red enough, she follows up with 1 more direct attack equal to 320% of her DEX to the enemy with the highest remaining HP percentage and from level 2 onwards is multiplied by 2 if her remaining HP percentage is 35% or lower. Her 2nd active "Playing With Dolls♪" has Ivy dress her old dolls with new dresses (red, of course) and deal 1 physical attack equal to up to 540% of her ATK to the enemy with the lowest remaining HP percentage, increasing by 1 (up to 5) for each buff Ivy has. But if Ivy decides that a doll doesn't have enough red on it, the physical attack's damage is increased to up to 810% of her ATK if the target also has a debuff and once fully upgraded the physical attacks are guaranteed to hit.

As the "Red Princess", Ivy's 1st passive of that name increases her ATK by up to 50% for 6 turns if an ally is defeated (up to 4 max) when she catches sight of the red dripping from her dolls. Meanwhile her 2nd passive "Sooo Much Red♪" has Ivy ask "What kind of red do you have?" while strengthening her basic attack, allowing her to deal 1 physical attack equal to 120% of her ATK to up to 2 random enemies instead, and when she finds a new doll to play with, she joyfully leaps at them and if the target's SPD is lower than hers the passive has a up to 50% chance to inflict [Fainted] for 1 turn.

With "Emma", Ivy's best friend and Unique Weapon, by her side, "Emma, Attack!"'s targets is increased to 5 random enemies and its direct attack's damage is increased to be equal to 380% of her DEX while "Playing With Dolls♪"'s physical attack's damage is increased to be equal to 640% of her ATK, which increases further to 960% if the target already has a debuff on them.

  • Cool Crown: A powerful witch with a crown on her head.
  • Cute and Psycho: She used to be fairly normal until the sight of a certain shade of red turned her insane and obsessed with the colour.
  • Expy: Red Is Violent incarnate? Check. Refers to other prospective 'friends' as 'dolls'? Check. Cute and Psycho? Check. All we need to do now is to introduce her to the similarly Ax-Crazy Red Riding Hood for the two to hit off.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Ivy is never seen without her teddy bear named Emma. Unsurprisingly, Emma itself doubles as Ivy's Unique Weapon.
  • Girlish Pigtails: And of course they're held together by red ribbons.
  • Irony: Ivy loves the colour red, but being a Emerald Aura witch means that Crimson Aura witches can defeat her easily.
  • Psychopathic Womanchild: A childish girl obsessed with the colour red and will achieve her perfect shade even through dubious means.
  • Red Is Violent: Dresses in red, is obsessed with the colour red and is a powerful witch in her own right.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Apples, and only those with the perfect shade of red.

    Lea
Rarity: SR > LR
Type: Sniper
Height and Weight: 144cm / 39kg
Blood Type: B
Birthday: 8/2
Lament: Fine Day (JP by Aoi Taira; EN)
Voiced by: Reina Ueda (JP); Michelle Marie (EN)

A girl hailing from the Holy See of Hainz who suffers from intense paranoia and longs for someone she can trust wholly. She once attended a training school for potential Knights but a certain incident caused her to leave and eventually join a militia briefly before eventually being picked up by the Successor. Once she knows she can trust someone who's kind to her, she'll be dependent on them.

Lea's heightened paranoia and fear of being betrayed might actually be her biggest asset. Screaming "Shut Up, Shut Up!!", her first skill of that name has Lea frantically swinging her weapon in her rage towards the unfortunate enemy with the highest ATK by decreasing its chance to evade by 30% for 2 turns and deals 1 physical attack equal to 700% of her ATK, along with a 80% chance to inflict [Fainted]. However, if the target manages to avoid that, they get a guaranteed hit by a physical attack equal to 900% of Lea's ATK and if the skill still doesn't kill them it activates once more. With a hysterical "No Looking, No Laughing!!", Lea's riled emotions from said 2nd active will cause her to deal 1 physical attack equal to up to a whopping 1600% of her ATK to the enemy with the highest ATK (which increases the less HP she has), with even more damage dealt if the poor sap not only has [Decreased Chance to Evade] (which multiplies the damage by 1.5) and even if they don't, the attack is guaranteed to hit.

Thinking "I gotta g-get them...! B-Before they kill me... I gotta kill them first!", Lea's 1st passive "Delirium" causes her excessive delusions to make her more aggressive, increasing her ATK and Critical Hit damage by up to 35% each while her 2nd passive "Paranoia" grants her [Stealth] for up to 2 turns that prevents her from getting hit by all enemies save for the one directly in front of her, along with decreasing her damage taken by 15% for 2 turns if she's attacked and taking damage exceeding 25% of her max. HP every 4 turns - a side effect of avoiding the gazes of others while convinced that they're laughing at her.

If Lea is granted access to her Unique Weapon "Serial Slasher", the chance of "Shut Up, Shut Up!!"'s [Decreased Chance to Evade] is increased to 50% and lasts for 3 turns while "No Looking, No Laughing!!"'s max. physical attack's damage can be increased to 1800% of her ATK.

  • Ax-Crazy: No thanks to her paranoia. Not exactly helping her case is her final Memory chapter in which she asks the Successor to kill her if she truly "went bad".
  • Hearing Voices: Lea has a tendency to believe that people are constantly making fun of her, bullying her or at worst attempting on her life. Eventually she realizes that it was just her own paranoia and resolves to make friends at the Successor's estate this time round.
  • Mystical White Hair: To emphasize her powers as a witch, she has silvery-white hair.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Comes with the territory of being one of the highest-hitting Witches in the game.

    Libra
Rarity: R -> SSR+
Type: Sniper
Height and Weight: 150cm / 40kg
Blood Type: B
Birthday: 10/3
Lament: Orion Shining Above the Skies at Noon (JP by ENA; EN)
Voiced by: Eri Yukimura (JP); Vanessa Marroquin (EN)

Originating from a hidden village of witches, Libra had given up on life believing that witches cannot live normal lives until she hears rumors about the Successor and leaves home in search of him and ends up falling in love with him after being rescued from the Knights of Longinus. Easygoing yet insecure, Libra has nothing on her mind except for love.

Through The Power of Love, Libra will protect the Successor that she's so madly in love with. Taking aim and shooting the enemy with her 1st active "Lovestruck Shot", Libra deals 1 physical attack equal to up to 450% of her ATK to the enemy with the lowest current HP, which is guaranteed to hit if said HP is 50% and below. Parting ways with her envy-filled past, an immense power stirs within Libra, sending her into a "Lovestruck Frenzy" of her 2nd active and deals 1 physical attack equal to up to 410% of her ATK to 3 random enemies, with the love-driven attack also having a 70% chance (100% at max. level) to decrease all of their DEF by up to 65% for 2 turns.

Thinking about nothing but love, Libra's passive which is her "Devoted Heart" will not let anyone aside from the target of her affections grab hold of her by increasing her chance to evade by up to 30%.

  • Hidden Elf Village: Libra hails from a hidden village of witches. Considering what's going on in the outside world now, it's understandable that the witches living there chose to isolate themselves before Libra's time.
  • Meaningful Name: Libra's name comes from the constellation of the same name representing the scales, and she wears a headband resembling its astrological symbol. Behind Libra is a massive set of scales, though her main weapon is actually a bow and arrow akin to constellations such as Sagittarius and Orion, hence her Lament carrying the name of the latter constellation.
  • The Power of Love: Even more so than Amour, which is impressive since the latter's name literally means "love". Libra's power is literally fueled by love towards the Successor. Despite this, the Successor hasn't quite gotten the hint yet so she's still trying her best.
  • Sigil Spam: Libra's headband and bow both resemble the astrological symbol of the constellation that gave her her name.
  • Significant Birth Date: It can only be appropriate that Libra's birthday is on October 3rd, making her a literal Libra.

    Luke
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Warrior
Height and Weight: 168cm / 49kg
Blood Type: A
Birthday: 1/1
Lament: Lone Star (JP by Ayaka Hirahara; EN)
Voiced by: Ami Koshimizu (JP); Susan Spano (EN)

A proud girl raised as a knight by her once noble family, Luke has a strong sense of duty. Unfortunately for her, she's also known as the "Harbinger of Death" due to everyone close to her inevitably meeting their ends, so she's afraid that she'll end up setting up her lords and comrades for their own doom.

To ensure that no one else falls victim to her "Harbringer of Death" curse, Luke will do anything to protect the ones she loves. Her 1st active "Herald's Flash" has her bring death to her foes despite now treading a different path by dealing 1 physical attack equal to up to 540% of her ATK to 5 random enemies and if a target's STR is lower than Luke's own the attack dealt will be a Critical Hit guaranteed while also dealing 1 more direct ATK equal to 150% of her STR to the enemy with the highest STR, additionally decreasing their ATK by 50% for 1 turn from lvl 2 onwards. Her 2nd active "Knight's Honor" has Luke swear on her pride as a knight and pour her whole soul into a single attack by dispelling every [Shield] from a random enemy and deals a direct attack equal to up to 520% of her STR to them, ignoring [Invulnerable], [Shield] and [Multi-Barrier], and starting from lvl 3 if the target doesn't have a [Shield] the attack's damage is multiplied by 1.5.

With her fate tied to death, Luke's 1st passive "My Sword is Yours" increases the damage a target takes by up to 15% for a max. of 5 times if she attacks and deals a Critical Hit while her 2nd passive "A Proud Knight" has her determination to fight her fate of death by increasing her chance to resist a critical hit by up to 60% for 4 turns at the start of the battle and when fully upgraded also increases 1 adjacent ally's chance to resist a critical hit by 60% for 3 turns.

Once Luke wields her unique Weapon "Herald of Deliverance", at the start of each turn HP equal to up to 25% of her ATK is restored to her.

  • Contralto of Strength: Luke has one of the deepest natural voices of the cast in both languages and is also a formidable knight.
  • Doom Magnet: As every single one of her lords were killed under her, she believes herself to be a "Harbinger of Death".
  • Gender-Blender Name: Luke is a name normally used for boys.
  • Hope Spot: In her Character Memories, Luke was seriously considering retiring from knighthood when the daughter of her first lord approached her. Believing that she did have a chance as she only counted the number of casualties under her instead of counting the lives she did manage to save, she gave her a chance... only for the girl to die from a carriage explosion that was initially meant for Luke herself. Luke nearly hits the Despair Event Horizon until someone offered her their hand and she remembers her lady's last words.
  • Power Up Letdown: Her Unique Weapon is the only one to not buff a single of her skills, instead restoring her HP every turn, with the amount restored scaling to her ATK and increasing as you upgrade it. It's considered one of the most useless Unique Weapons in the game, along with Moddey's.
  • Promoted to Playable: Luke was made playable on November 30 2022 after being a recurring Guild Boss.
  • Screw Destiny: After the events of her Character Memory story, Luke is determined to fight against her fate of being the "Harbringer of Death". Time will tell if she manages to succeed.
  • This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: She's largely useless for the most part compared to witches such as Cordie and Florence. However, due to how her debuff worksnote , she's by far the best choice for maximizing damage dealt to guild raid bosses (yes, including herself). This trope even applies to her Unique Weapon, which starting from level 200 gives her an additional chance to inflict a Critical Hit which she requires to inflict her debuff.

    Merlyn
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Sorcerer
Height and Weight: 166cm / 51kg
Blood Type: O
Birthday: 3/9
Lament: Fly Away (JP by Rei (from TUYU); EN by Adriana "Adrisaurus" Figueroa)
Voiced by: Rikako Aida (JP); Kelly Baskin (EN)

Also known as "The Witch of the Deep Forest" by fearful humans who have never seen her before, Merlyn lives alone in a forest in the Principality of Brook. Because of her solitude, Merlyn longs nothing more than to connect with other people.

Merlyn takes the lessons learnt from her old master to heart in order to protect her friends and hopes to someday pass them to her future apprentice. Her 1st active "Like Master Would Do" has Merlyn remember the lessons taught to her by her old master to save her friends the same way her master did for her by dispelling 1 debuff from the ally with the highest ATK, increasing their ATK by up to 40% for 2 turns if they aren't debuffed. By unleashing a "Vine Stream" at the enemy which sweeps them away and drains their power, Merlyn's 2nd active of that name dispels 1 buff each from the 2 enemies with the highest remaining HP percentages (3 at level 4) and deals 1 magical attack equal to up to 380% of her ATK to them while also restoring HP equal to 15% of the skill's total damage to the ally with the lowest remaining HP percentage.

Asking others "W-won't you become... my apprentice?", Merlyn's 1st passive "Apprentice Wanted!" increases the chance to deal a critical hit for herself and up to 2 adjacent allies if 3 or more allies are alive but increases their DEF if the number of surviving allies is 2 and below. And through the relationship that "Master and Apprentice" have, Merlyn's 2nd passive of that name grants [Regeneration] to her and up to 2 adjacent allies which restores HP equal to up to 5% of their max HP each turn at the start of the action phase.

Once she gets to take up her Unique Weapon "Staff of Sylvan Harvest", "Like Master Will Do"'s target is increased to 2, the number of debuffs dispelled increases to 2, and if their remaining HP percentage is below 50% restores HP equal to 350% of Merlyn's ATK to them but increases their critical hit damage by up to 40% if their remaining HP percentage is 50% or higher.

  • Commonality Connection: Freesia's SSR+ line reveals that they and Natasha have befriended each other at the Successor's estate over flowers.
  • Green Thumb: Merlyn's powers allow her to manipulate vines.
  • "I Want" Song: Merlyn's Lament Fly Away is about her determination to venture out into the wider world and seek an apprentice of her own.
  • Magic Staff: Merlyn wields one of her own that also serves as her Unique Weapon.
  • Meaningful Name: Merlyn's Witch Classic garb is not for show; her name is the feminine version of Merlin from Arthurian Legend, perhaps the most famous wizard in myth and legend.
  • Support Party Member: Merlyn's role in the party.
  • Witch Classic: She does dress the part, witch hat and all.

    Mertillier
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Sorcerer
Height and Weight: 129cm / 29kg
Blood Type: AB
Birthday: 9/3
Lament: To the Most Beautiful Miracle of All (JP by Asuka Nishi; EN)
Voiced by: Asuka Nishi (JP); Ryan Bartley (EN)

Formerly a researcher hailing from the Kingdom of Byrune and A.A's creator, Mertillier is giftedly intelligent and served as Byrune's chief researcher while existing as a witch. She adores A.A as if she were her own daughter, and A.A loves her back just as much.

Using the power of science, Mertillier will protect everyone, especially A.A. Her 1st active "Life Conversion" allows Mertillier to use even the power of demons to deal 1 magical attack equal to up to 350% of her ATK to 4 random enemies and grants her [Shield] equal to up to 40% of the skill's total damage for 3 turns. Mertillier's then uses her understanding of life and expertise to activate her 2nd active to perform "Maintenance" on the ally with the highest ATK by decreasing her skill cooldown by up to 2, and at higher levels also increases her ATK by 65% for 3 turns and dispelling all of her debuffs.

To protect her beloved A.A, Mertillier created her "Homunculus Body" which also serves as her 1st passive that grants her [Regeneration] for 3 turns if her HP falls below 40%, restoring HP equal to up to 20% of her max. HP to her each turn. At higher levels, it also grants her [Stealth] for the same duration. Mertillier then uses her 2nd passive "Fruits of Research" to apply everything she learnt while creating homunculi onto her own body which increases her Debuff RES by up to 100%.

Upon unlocking the "Archeus Principle" that is Mertillier's Unique Weapon, "Life Conversion"'s magical attack become equal to 410% of her ATK while "Maintenance"'s ATK is increased by 85% and additionally increases the DEF of the ally with the highest ATK by 65% for 3 turns.

  • Artificial Human: Mertillier's current body was made as such, using the research she did on witch creation. However, Mertillier herself has no clue on how long it will last, so she's willing to make the most of her time by spending it with A.A and the Successor.
  • Disney Death: Mertillier's death was caused by the Pope running her spear through her, which in turn caused A.A to awaken as a Witch of Qlipha. Fortunately, Mertillier made sure to create a homunculus body as a backup, which is what allowed the Successor to purify A.A's Curse of Rust.
  • For Science!: Mertillier's experiments are about how witches are created, and she eventually wishes to use said research to reverse the witch transformations.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Though fitting for a scientist like her, Mertillier's Unique Weapon is her science kit.
  • Older Than She Looks: Mertillier is actually a lot older than her current body suggests.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: The shortest member of the cast and is a powerful witch in her own right.
  • Teen Genius: Mertillier resembles a young child but is very, very smart.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: As homunculi have an irrational lifespan, Mertillier isn't sure how long her current body will last. Because of this, she aims to spend more time with A.A and her LR homescreen line has her promise the Successor to take care of A.A if anything happened to herself.

    Nina
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Sniper
Height and Weight: 137cm / 30kg
Blood Type: AB
Birthday: 4/14
Lament: Trip on Planet Confuzzled (JP by Yu Serizawa; EN)
Voiced by: Yuu Serizawa (JP); Kaitlyn Robrock (credited as Elizabeth Simmons) (EN)

An abandoned girl who's convinced herself that she's just lost, Nina spends her days wandering around looking for her home. After an incident where she's framed as a thief, Nina is filled with loneliness and despair whenever no one believes her and refuses to steal food no matter her hunger as she believes that bad children do not deserve a home.

  • Believing Their Own Lies: Nina convinced herself that she simply got lost finding her way home. The truth is a lot harsher than that...
  • Berserk Button: Nina doesn't like it when people don't believe her even when she's being truthful due to an incident in the past when she was framed for thievery.
  • No Sense of Direction: Nina's always getting lost. Or so she thinks...
  • Parental Abandonment: What actually happened to her.

Blood Type: B
Birthday: 4/10
Lament: Lament (JP by Sayaka Yamamoto; EN by Gabbi "RVBY MY DEAR" Coenen)

"If I could just die right here... Oh how comforting that would be..."

A witch from the Principality of Brook who is actually several centuries old despite her childish appearance, serving as a wise advisor to the Successor. She once served another master before, the staff she wields belonging to him, and seems to know about the Staff of Tikkun.

Rosalie uses her memories and the legacy of her previous master to aid the next one to success. Her first active "His Soul's Relic" releases power from her previous master's staff to deliver 1 magical attack equal to up to 320% of her ATK to 5 random enemies after fully upgraded while restoring 10% of the skill's total damage to her by stealing their lifeforce. Using this same power via her 2nd active "His Soul's Memories", she deals 1 magical attack equal to 420% of her ATK to up to 3 random enemies and gains [Invulnerable] for up to 2 turns through her old master's will to protect her, additionally granting a 60% chance to inflict [Bleed] for 2 turns that deals damage equal to 10% of her ATK at the start of the action phase.

And with her life guarded by her previous master, Rosalie's passive "Undying Life" grants her [Regeneration] which restores HP equal to up to 10% of her max HP at the start of the action phase.

On 16 March 2024, following the live performance of her Lament during the "Sayaka Yamamoto Hall Tour 2024 -RGB-" concert, a new variant of Rosalie has been announced for a end-April release.

  • Bait-and-Switch: Her first Memory recounts her first meeting with "The Duke of Fran", who is a "he", "the one who'd inherit the Staff" and "made smiles flourish all around". All of these describe the Successor... only, if one remembers, Rosalie had an old master who passed away, is centuries old and does not recognize you on your first meeting besides the Staff of Tikkun. Sure enough, the next couple of Memories describe how her first master met his end.
  • In-Series Nickname: Her profile notes everyone calls her "Granny Rosalie"; she calls herself the "Eternal Maiden".
  • Ma'am Shock: It's heavily implied in one of Veela's lines that it was her who got angry after the latter called her kitchen companion "like a grandma".
  • Mentor Archetype: She mentions teaching Soltina on how to control her powers, and somehow ended up getting ten students. She's actually pleased by this.
  • Ms. Exposition: Being several centuries ahead of other witches in age and experience, she has much more knowledge to share about the world and Witches in general, though she still tends to be mysterious.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's over 200 years old to be exact, according to her "Victory" voice line.
  • Shaped Like Itself: Her Lament's title is "Lament".
  • Tragic Keepsake: The Magic Staff she wields belonged to her old master.
  • You Remind Me of X: She often makes comparisons between her old master and the current Successor, and no wonder! Her first Memory makes descriptions that could make one mistake the old Successor for the one of the present.

    Shizu
Rarity: N
Type: Warrior
Height and Weight: 141cm / 40kg
Blood Type: AB
Birthday: 7/2
Lament: Traces of Flowers (JP by Airi Kisaragi; EN)
Voiced by: Non Harusaki (JP); Valentine Roselo (EN)

A samurai woman from a distant land born to a family of male samurai who looked down on her, thus wielding a great katana longer than her own height to prove her strength to them. She had wandered the land after leaving her family until she ran into the Successor, to whom she then pledged her sword to.

Using her large katana, Shizu cleaves her enemies before they realize what's going on. Her first skill "Manji-Nuke" has her hit 3 random enemies with blinding speed with 1 physical attack equal to 130% of her ATK while her 2nd skill "Hitotsu-no-Tachi" cuts 1 random enemy down using her katana's full weight by dealing 1 physical attack equal to 200% of her ATK to them.

  • Badass Normal: It's obvious that she's a witch judging from how she telekinetically controls her sword in her skill animations, and her Memories don't entirely describe how she fought at the time, but she specifically chose to wield her great-katana physically, implying she fought her samurai brothers and their hired fighters on her own with nothing more than pure swordsmanship.
  • BFS: Shizu's sword is larger than her, but she can wield it just fine.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: While her family are renowned samurai, they looked down on Shizu due to her gender. When she got stronger than her brothers, her father plotted with them to assassinate her as women cannot be head of the family regardless of her strength for fear that the family will be ridiculed when she gets married off.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Dango, which she is shown holding and eating in her Live2D art.

    Yuni
Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Sorcerer
Height and Weight: 154cm / 43kg
Blood Type: O
Birthday: 4/6
Lament: Remedy (JP by Rhythm Hanazawa; EN)
Voiced by: Manaka Iwami (JP);

A travelling healer who saved many ailing and injured souls across her travels. Despite being oppressed as a witch due to the increasing fervor of the Witch Hunt as the Curses spread, Yuni continues to persevere in her healing towards those in need. Due to her obsession with health, she has a slight tendency to nag.

  • The Medic: Her primary role in-game. She's also this as a profession.
  • Team Mom: Yuni ends up in this position at the Successor's estate, if her comments towards the Successor about how everyone else takes care of their health and attempting to change Sivi's eating habits is any indication.

    Zara
Rarity: R -> SSR+
Type: Warrior
Height and Weight: 157cm / 49kg
Blood Type: AB
Birthday: 3/19
Lament: Drowsiness (JP by Wotamin; EN)
Voiced by: Miyu Tomita (JP); Julie Shields (EN)

Hailing from the same Galia-Adria border village as Rean and Priscilla and another childhood friend of Skuld's, Zara follows her father's footsteps to become a soldier but accidentally reveals a secret that destroyed her village. While a soldier of a few words, she's a sweet girl that cherishes her friends deep down.

With her experience as a former soldier, Zara combines her military expertise with her magic powers to protect her friends in order to atone for the past. Her 1st active has her engage in an "All-Out Assault" by focusing her strength to deal 1 physical attack equal to up to 520% of her ATK to the enemy directly in front of her and has a 50% chance (70% at max. level) to inflict [Fainted] for 1 turn. Charging towards the enemy, Zara uses her magic to propel her into her 2nd active "Frontline Charge" and deals 1 physical attack equal to up to 480% of her ATK to the enemy directly in front of her and the 2 others adjacent to them, and from level 2 onwards has a 50% chance to decrease their SPD by up to 20% for 3 turns.

Using her magic powers to increase her defenses, Zara takes up a "Defensive Position" that is also the name of her passive which decreases the damage she takes by up to 30% when her HP percentage falls below 30%, which is then dispelled at the start of the turn once her remaining HP is 30% or higher.

  • Childhood Friends: With Rean, Skuld and the currently-unplayable Priscilla.
  • My Greatest Failure: In her Memory Story, she deeply regrets telling the commander of her troop about the fact that her village was founded by a witch, which resulted in her home village being destroyed by her own troop, and it was revealed that her commander was part of a secret society that worshipped the witch who founded her village and wanted revenge on the people who "kidnapped" her and their descendants, including Zara herself and her friends.
  • The Quiet One: She's not much talk in her, but she still cares for her friends.

Variants

    Sabrina (Summer)

Soldier of the Summer Breeze

Rarity: SR -> LR
Type: Warrior
Height and Weight: 158cm / 41kg
Blood Type: A
Birthday: 2/20
Lament: Before Our Heartbeats Intertwine (JP by Eri Sasaki; EN by Charlotte Bash)
Voiced by: Akari Kitou (JP); Alexis Colett (EN)

While on vacation at a certain songstress's private villa, Sabrina was tasked by the Successor with looking after the younger witches as they played in the water. But when a certain gravekeeper expresses her fear of water, it's up to her to teach her how to conquer her fear.

The first Summer variant takes to the water to defend her friends and send her enemies sleeping with the fishes! Her 1st active "Cerulean Tempest" has Sabrina swiftly thrust her blade to deal 1 physical attack equal to 350% of her ATK to 4 random enemies with a chance to resist a critical hit decreased by 40% for 4 turns before the attack lands, and with the violent summer breeze, the enemy with the highest remaining HP percentage among the skill's targets will be inflicted with [Fainted] for up to 2 turns and lose consciousness (unless all of the enemies have already been defeated by the skill). Her 2nd active "Ultramarine Requiem" then has Sabrina deliver a barrage of strikes to send the enemies to the depths of the sea, dealing 5 physical attacks (which increases by 1 for a max of 5 starting from lvl. 2) equal to 200% of her ATK to random enemies, and if a Critical Hit among the 5 is dealt, the remaining attacks will also be critical hits. The summer breeze also proves persistent as it chases its targets down the ocean, dispelling up to 2 buffs and dealing 1 more physical attack equal to up to 600% of Sabrina's ATK to the enemy with the lowest remaining HP percentage among the initial attack's targets if Sabrina deals 4 or more critical hits.

With the desire to protect her comrades beyond her defeat, Sabrina's 1st passive "The Summer Soldier" has a 50% (100% at max level) chance to inflict [Fainted] if she falls in combat to the unfortunate soul who defeated her for 1 turn (unless she's defeated by a debuff), and starting from lvl 2 increases her chance to hit by 40% at the start of the battle. And with the "Soaring Desire" to live with the scars of her heart, determination to bear the shackles of her past and move forward with the power to live, Sabrina's 2nd passive of that name increases her max. HP by up to 40% and at higher levels increases her DEF by up to 100%.

And if Sabrina is allowed to bring her Unique Weapon "Rivage" to the water with her, "Cerulean Tempest"'s targets will increase to 5 and its damage increased to 400% of her ATK while "Ultramarine Requiem"'s initial physical attacks is increased to 7.

As Sabrina and Sabrina (Summer) are counted as different units, both can be deployed in the same party. For more information on her initial Aura of Crimson self, see here.

  • The Comically Serious: When you first obtain her.
    I will not fail in completing this mission. This mission called, “vacation…!”
  • Developer's Foresight: If you have Sabrina's initial unit and your birthday took place before her Summer version was implemented, Sabrina (Summer)'s birthday line will already be unlocked for you.
  • Friend to All Children: Probably why the Successor tasked her to look after the younger witches while on vacation, although she believes that Sophia and Valeriede would make better caretakers especially when Moddey acts up.
  • Situational Sword: Sabrina (Summer)'s 2nd active "Ultramarine Requiem"'s secondary effects only take place if she deals 4 or more critical hits, which is easier said than done (unless she's beside Merlyn).
