Main Characters

    Mylne

The titular protagonist of the game, Mylne is an apprentice apothecary who lives with her grandfather deep in the mysterious forest. Though not yet able to brew her own potions, she is a lively and popular figure among the other forest residents. The whereabouts of her parents are unknown, but Mylne doesn’t let it get her down. Her agility makes her a force to be reckoned with on the dungeon battlefields.

    Rosetta

Voiced by: Kanon Takao
The deuteragonist. Rosetta is a mysterious girl Mylne meets in the Sealed Cavern. In the third part of the game, she joins Mylne on her adventure.


Forest Residents

    Grandpa

Mylne's grandfather. A master apothecary, he shares his knowledge with Mylne.

    The Bard 

The Bard

Voiced by: Yuya Nakata
A mysterious traveler who came to the forest one day. He doesn't talk much about himself, but he's friendly to Mylne.
  • The Bard: It's in the name.
  • Meaningful Name: His real name is Orpheus, named for the classical Greek poet who lost the love of his life.

    Galaxarth the Wanderer

A bird creature who offers advice to Mylne.

The Sealed Cavern

    The Vagabond 

The Vagabond

Voiced by: Yoshinori Nakayama
A strange man dressed in prisoner's garb. He offers Mylne advice on how to transverse the labyrinth.
  • Hidden Eyes: His eyes are always shadowed, as if he didn't look suspicious enough already.
  • Perma-Stubble: To go with his general disheveled look.

    Nicolas Flamel 

Nicolas Flamel

Voiced by: Yoshinori Nakayama
An alchemist dedicated to researching the Philosopher's Stone. Mylne can find pieces of his diary scattered about the underground labyrinth.
  • Big Bad: Of Episode 2.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: He's the climatic boss at the end of Episode 2.
  • Knight of Cerebus: The plot takes a darker turn the more Mylne learns of his experiments.
  • Moon Rabbit: While the player doesn't see him clearly, he does look like he has rabbit ears under his hood, and Episode 3 clarifies he's a moonling.
  • One-Winged Angel: After Mylne defeats him the first time, he transforms into a much stronger dragon, drawing power from the abyss.
  • Professor Guinea Pig: When he ran out of apprentices, he began to experiment on himself.

    Sir Gawain

A rabbit paladin from the kingdom on the moon. He was the commander of a failed expedition to stop Flamel's experiments.
  • Badass Adorable: He may be a rabbit, but he also hits hard.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: He joins Mylne in the battle against Paracelsus' Blade, following up any of her attacks with one of his own.
  • Moon Rabbit: Well, he is a rabbit paladin from a kingdom on the moon.
  • Talking Animal: He's a talking bunny.
  • Unfinished Business: His spirit lingers in the underground labyrinth, and it's only after he and Mylne defeat Paracelsus' Blade and avenge his fallen comrade that he can rest in peace.

    Luna (SPOILERS

Luna

Mylne's missing mother, who disappeared when Mylne was only a baby to investigate the Sealed Cavern and learn more about the Philosopher's Stone.
  • Cat Girl: Well, more of a cat woman.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Like her daughter, she also sports a pair of cat ears.
  • The Lost Lenore: To the Bard.
  • Magic Staff: That's her weapon in the flashback where the player controls her, using it to cast lightning magic.
  • Missing Mom: To Mylne.
  • People Puppets: After his defeat, Flamel takes control of Luna's body to tempt Mylne into entering the abyss and recreating the world. Fortunately, Mylne is able to see through the ruse and the Bard arrives just in time to sever Flamel's control over Luna.
  • Posthumous Character: She sacrificed herself to seal Flamel to prevent the opening of the abyss before the start of the game. Mylne does not take this revelation well.
  • Walking Spoiler: Many mysteries of Episode 2 center around her disappearance.

Astral Realm

    Lethe, Minstrel of Dusk

A mysterious woman Mylne meets in the Astral Plane. Her musical performances show more of Rosetta's past.
  • Meaningful Name: She's named after the Greek goddess of forgetfulness and oblivion.

    Dr. Paracelsus

One of Nicolas Flamel's apprentices. Mylne can find pieces of his diary in the Sealed Cavern, but he doesn't appear on-screen until Episode 3.

    Flintlock 

Flintlock

Voiced by: Ryo Morita
A zombie pirate searching for treasure in the Astral Realm.
  • Friendly Pirate: He's polite to Mylne and Rosetta, offering to let them join his crew if they help him find treasure.
  • Ghost Pirate: A zombie pirate, to be precise.
  • Hook Hand: Sports one as any respectable pirate should.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: He admits he hasn't found much treasure yet because, in his own words, his crew is a bunch of dunderheads.

    The Outcast 

The Outcast

Voiced by: Daiki Mikami
The lingering spirit of one of Flamel's researchers that Mylne and Rosetta meet in the Astral Realm. He is searching for the Book of the Sea of Stars.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Among Flamel's apprentices, he was slightly more popular than Paracelsus, but not by much.
  • Only Sane Man. Of Flamel's apprentices, he's the only one with both a sense of ethics and more than two brain cells to rub together.
  • Talking Animal: Like other moonlings, he's a talking rabbit.
