    Earth

Acheron

The bodyguard hired by Singe after the last one fled since Klace's death. Acheron is shrewd and professional, but still amicable if one gets to know him.

Dazz

One of the members of Klace's tour group. She takes the role of the backup singer, and after Klace's murder is reluctantly thrust into the spotlight by Singe.

  • Advertised Extra: Despite appearing for a good chunk of the promotional material, she doesn't play much of a role in the story and the player doesn't get to directly interact with her.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Dazz' fur sits at the natural shade of blue.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her jacket covers her breasts at all times in a Godiva-esque manner, leaving her cleavage and navel exposed.

Eclair

The host of Cafe Chat, a maid cafe in Akibahara. Though the cafe has faced financial troubles in the past, Eclair has managed to make a comeback, with the restaurant becoming one of the most popular ones in the city.

  • Broken Tears: She's the only character who has a sprite depicting her crying.
  • Four Is Death: She says that this is the reason why Cafe Chat's tables have only three seats. In actuality, it's because the seats were intended for three people: the patron, herself, and Rook.
  • Gratuitous French: She's named Eclair and her cafe is named Cafe Chat.
  • Maid Cafe: Is the sole owner of the most popular one in Akibahara.
  • Meaningful Name: She works in a cafe, so being named after a pastry would be pretty fitting, but her name means something else:
Eclair: Quick like lightning! The true meaning of the word Eclair!
  • Office Romance: She really gets attached to Rook, which makes his disappearance all the more heartbreaking. If you choose to go to Cafe Chat and, after Singe's conference, tell Eclair that relationships can be mended, she gets back with Rook.
  • Trying Not to Cry: Jade putting in an appointment for Cafe Chat for The Player and Kila is what brings back her long-standing memories concerning Rook's departure from the cafe. She tries to hold back her tears for as long as she can, but has to retreat to her office after asking about Rook.

Fukumoto

A news reporter one day and a paparazzi the next, Fukumoto is quick on his heels to get in on the live scene. He's employed by a major news studio in Japan.

  • Paparazzi: A small handful of characters dislike him for having the typical Paparazzi traits, notably ones who are related to Singe or Klace.

Inumi

  • Tagalong Kid: Klace found him and delayed his own concert just to comfort him. Ever since, he's followed around his tour group in their limo.

Jade

Singe's secretary slash limo driver.

Kila

Initially met as a stranger on the train to Akibahara, Kila turns out to be the second person who won the Popstarr contest. Excited for this trip, the squirrel is a fan of many things Japanese.

  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Has sky-blue fur with a green stripe up his back.
  • Ascended Fanboy: One of Klace's biggest fans, and one of two people who won his Popstarr contest to meet Klace, alongside The Player.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal: If he dies and The Player has built enough affection with him, his soul reveals that he secretly hated The Player all along. Though, it's Played With in that Eddie is not sure to hate The Player or like them: he himself hates The Player for drawing that lucky can and causing Kila Death by Despair, but he knows that if Kila went on the trip and met The Player, he'd love them for being so kind to him and sharing interests with him.
  • My Sibling Will Live Through Me: The Kila you encounter throughout the game is not the real Kila; the real Kila died the day you won the contest, and the Kila you know is his twin brother Eddie. Eddie actually hates Klace, Japan, and most of the things associated with the tour, but went on it pretending to be Kila as a way to give his deceased brother the trip that he wanted.

Klace

The world-famous pop idol, Klace is the lead singer of his tour group.

Maxine

A mysterious canine woman, who often bumps into you before disappearing just as quickly as she came.

  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: She's the head of Armstrong Incorporated. Acheron suspects that she purposely killed off her parents and eldest sister to secure the title of company head.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": She prefers the name Max to Maxine.
  • Serial Killer: She's the woman behind the Midnight Deaths. Her time-slowing powers give plenty of explanation to how some of these deaths seem completely unnatural or impossible.
  • Time Master: The gear pendant given to her by Reiyo allows her to slow down time.
  • We Gotta Stop Meeting Like This: Says this once you meet her in the hotel.

Rocker

Rook

An assistant to Singe and your guide for most of your trip to Akibahara. Spends a bit too much time looking at his personal device, making him come off as rather aloof.

  • Ambiguous Species: It's not really clear what he is. He could be interpreted as some kind of otter or weasel, but the Steam profile background featuring him suggests he's a ferret, referring to him as a "dookster"note .
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's a good person, but often outwardly appears as uncaring.
    • After he abandons Cafe Chat, he realises what a mistake he's made by leaving Eclair when news of the cafe's failing reaches his ears. In return, he leaves a large sum of money for Eclair to make a comeback.
    • If he's spared from the bombs in place of Kila, he begs The Player to bring him back, despite Rook not really showing much affection for Kila in the earlier chapters.
  • No Sense of Humor: Has a pretty hard time making jokes. Ties into a confession to The Player: his lack of a sense of humor gets him disliked by quite a few people, and he feels like a social outcast for it.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Not a teenager, but he's addicted to that tablet of his. It's featured quite prominently on his sprite, he'll occasionally write or type on it mid-conversation, and characters note how he never seems to go anywhere without it. It's Played for Drama: The reason why he's addicted to it is that he's talking to a simulation of his deceased mentor through it.
  • Trauma Button: He doesn't like maid cafes, as a result of leaving Cafe Chat.
  • Tron Lines: Has a green circuitboard tattoo on his body. They're most visible on his arm, but you can see them peeking out from under his jacket.

Shock

  • Must Have Caffeine: Implied to have gotten hooked onto the Popstarr line of energy drinks. He's shown with a can of one pretty consistently.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Shock is one of the rudest characters you'll meet, but he's considered becoming a philanthropist during the events of the game, and becomes one in some of the neutral endings.

Singe

The head manager of Klace's group.

  • A Lizard Named "Liz": He's a dragon and his name is Singe.
  • Master Actor: Acheron's freak out in the conference room was all staged, fooling everyone and allowing Max to plant the bomb.

    Terra

Caylen

Dusk

Endymion

  • Murder, Inc.: Is part of an assassin's guild with Konrad. Subverted in that him and Konrad are the only members of the assassin's guild.

Kabu

Konrad

  • Ambiguously Bi: He will compliment your looks regardless of whether you chose to be female or male. Also, in the final chapter, if you choose Konrad and you persist to be with him, he will tell you, while blushing, that he likes you (it's debatable whether it's a romantic or platonic "like").

  • Too Many Belts: As is typical for an assassin getup, he has at least 13 belts, and that's only on the visible part of his sprite.

Laito

PB

  • Only Known by Initials: He insists that PB is his actual name. Konrad doesn't give up trying to find out his real name, though.

Phidget

  • Missing Mom: His mother disappeared awhile back. He's still hopeful that she'll return one day.

Plair

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: His first appearance makes him out to be very self-centric, being against immigration to Terra due to dwindling resources while other characters accuse him of hoarding said resources. However, it's all just him being manipulated by Riley.
  • Like a Son to Me: Kabu. It's later implied that Kabu actually was Plair's son, since the ballroom scene has Plair call Kabu his son and the Golden Ending has Kabu and Plair living together.
  • Puppet King: Riley has been manipulating Plair for his entire political career. He finally snaps in the ballroom when Kabu dies.
  • The Dog Bites Back: He turns against Riley after Kabu is killed.

Righty

  • The Big Guy: Has a rippling set of pecs? Check. Towers over pretty much the rest of the cast? Check. Is one of the most honest characters that team up with the player? Triple check.
  • The Worf Effect: The player notes that Nagi and Nemi must be very powerful if they just swat Righty aside with little effort.

Riley

Sam

  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": Prefers the name Sam over Samantha.
  • Femme Fatale: Has one of the larger chests and skimpier clothes of the female cast, and is also the first character who The Player firsthand sees murder someone.
  • Only in It for the Money: She's very honest about only doing ever things for cash.
  • Red Is Violent: Red hair and a red dress. She wears the latter because bloodstains aren't as obvious on it.

Trish

Velazquez

  • The Ageless: King Velasquez is dubbed "The Immortal King" of Terra as time seems to move much slower for him.

    Other Characters (contains unmarked spoilers)

The Player

  • Canon Name: Exodus, the name of the project to combine multiple souls into one headed by Velasquez. The name you chose at the start of the game is the name of the strongest soul.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: In-Universe, if The Player decides to comfort Eclair when she runs to her office, Kila will joke about how they went on a date with her. The Player is quick to him know that they would never try to take advantage of someone like that.
  • Fallen Hero: Heavily implied to have become the main antagonist of the next game from Tall Tail Studios, Winds of Change.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: One of the first things you do is give Reiyo your name. It's more in-depth than other games, since you also get to use a last name, gender, and general personality, the latter two courtesy of Endymion's immigration papers.
  • Instant Expert: During the attack on Plair's estate, The Player is given a sword, and narration dictates on how they have no idea how to use one properly. Nemi's sword, by contrast, is like second nature for The Player to wield, due to the true nature of both of them.
  • Merger of Souls: The Player is created as a result of the millions of souls working on the Exodus project. Their true identity is described by Reiyo as the strongest soul of all of the parts.
  • Soul Power: This, in addition to the three artifacts (Nagi and Nemi's swords, Velazquez' sceptre) allows them to rewrite the universe.
  • Stable Time Loop: After The Player wins the Popstarr contest, they receive a commemorative replica of the can from Singe after the conference. Singe notes that it's identical in every way to the winning cans. Fast forward to when The Player is stabbed by Nemi, sending them back in time to the day they won the Popstarr contest, where the shelf of Popstarr is suddenly conspicuously empty. The replica can given to them by Singe is the can that The Player uses to win the contest in the first place.

Reiyo

  • Blessed with Suck: He's stuck in The Ark, at least until somebody takes his place. While this means that he can observe what's going on on both Earth and Terra, he can only leave The Ark for brief moments of time. Reiyo laments that it's his prison.
  • Big Good: Reiyo is the main force behind the good side. While he does give Max her pendant and tells her to kill, it's all a necessary part of the plan.
  • Motivational Lie: Reiyo begins the game by telling you there's an infinite number of realities, and you have the power to slide between them. It sounds like an in-universe explanation for save files, but you don't have any power like that, and there are no alternate realities. It was just a lie to push you in the right direction. Subverted because it later turns out you do have actual powers and an importance in the universe, just not in the way he told you at the start.
  • My Name Is ???: Conversations with him have his name listed as ??? until he reveals his name proper to The Player, though the game does cheat a little - when you're shown a scene of him talking to Velazquez, the king refers to Reiyo by name. His name is still question marks until he introduces himself properly to The Player, though.
  • Reality Warper: Can move people between worlds, bring them to The Ark, and...
  • Time Master: ...stop time, between himself and anyone he chooses.

Nagi/Nemi

  • Gone Horribly Right: They were described by Velazquez to be absolutely perfect. However, this leads to them yearning for a greater purpose, and ultimately, going on a universe-wide rampage.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Nemi's more impulsive than her brother, destroying The Wayfarer's Tavern and being the first to kill Velazquez. Nagi on the other hand, is more calculated, initially trying to convince The Player that Velazquez is in the wrong and that The Player shouldn't follow him.
