Go To

Due to Lying's implementation of a multiverse in his Minecraft series, his stories have a variety of different characters involved in them. Most prominently, different versions of the character 'Lying'.

    Nether!Lying
  • I Will Find You: Nether!Lying's entire goal is to find his lost friends of Walter and Martyn.

     Timothy
A pigman robot hybrid with hatred for redmakers, especially if those redmakers are a version of Lyinginbedmon.

  • Anti-Villain: While he is choosing probably the evilest ways to accomplish his goals, at the end of the day those goals do boil down to wanting to protect his home and people.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: While he raises points about how people plunder the Nether's already limited resources and at his own mistreatment at the hands of redmakers, genocide is not the answer to those problems he thinks it is.
  • Heroic Bastard: While maybe not in the eyes of the redmakers, he views himself as a champion and hero of the Nether.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: After the events of The Return, he now resides in a cramped prison guarded by Sister Young.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While for the most part, he's just as cold and assholeish as he appears. However, he does have soft spots for the Nether, his fellow pigmen. He even shows this off in the probably not canon let's play series done by him as he shows a soft spot for Glados and surprisingly for the human Trudy in New Vegas, even carrying her by hand up a hill into a grave after she is killed by powder gangers.

    Atlantis!Lying
  • Fate Worse than Death: Dying to the Witch's Ritual definitely gave them one of these, as they are now likely in one of the many fused together and pissed ghosts going after the witch.

    Witch!Lying

Also known as Carpenters Station!Lying.

  • Admiring the Abomination: They seem strangely enamored with the hideous mutant creature that hatched out of an egg they laid themselves, to the point of adopting it as their child. Which it sort of is.
  • And I Must Scream: Trapped in a damp well, completely alone, for decades, maybe even centuries.
  • Ambiguous Gender
  • Ancient Evil: Witch certainly counts by the time they can break out of the well.
  • All Witches Have Cats: Like any proper witch, The Witch has a familiar, a nice black cat they seem to genuinely enjoy the company of.
  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: The Witch has the DNA of many animals, but foxes and ravens are their trademark animal.
  • Asshole Victim: Witch's time in the well was genuinely horrific and something no one should ever go through, but the Witch could use a bit more tact about the whole thing.
  • Break the Cutie: Their time in the well has turned a mischievous but well-meaning man into a true horror movie monster.
  • Characterization Marches On: Witch Lying sure has grown from just a bit of a troll with a horror love to something almost eldritch.
  • Complexity Addiction: Why get revenge on just one version of the guy who maybe might have been the one to hurt you, when you can get revenge on every version of that guy in the multiverse?
  • Crossing the Burnt Bridge: In The RETURN, Witch is brought into the same room with many other versions of themselves, including those like Summoner!Lying and Knight!Lying who were more directly affected by their ritual. And they all know full well what Witch has done. Luckily for them, everyone is so busy with the Paint It Red that the most they do is express annoyance with their past actions.
  • Cute Is Evil
  • Drama Queen
  • Disproportionate Retribution: They believe they are on the receiving end. They believe that Kirin Dave sealed them in their well as a cruel end to their prank war. However, if Kirin is innocent, Witch may have done this themselves as they decided to hold his partner Su, and the entire Central Circle, hostage in retaliation.
  • Entitled Bastard
  • Excessive Evil Eyeshadow: They sport thick red eyeshadow - it's blood.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Witch's actual name has been lost, so now everyone just calls them Witch or the universal nickname of Lying.
  • Everyone Has Standards: They won’t hurt children
  • Fate Worse than Death: Witch wonders if surviving within the well was a worse fate than perishing within.
Witch!Lying at Kyofushin:"What do you have to worry about?! You're dead! I, on the other hand, decided for some reason apparently decided that living in a well for eternity was going to be a smart move!"
  • Flying Broomstick: They do indeed have a broomstick that according to Kirin was very annoying to deal with.
  • Freudian Excuse: They will use the well as an excuse whenever the chance presents itself, though the points he raises do tend to have merit even if not quite as much as he thinks.
  • I'm Not Afraid of You: Witch informs Kyofushin that they should be afraid of them.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Blood Mascara" by Nether!Lying.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: When Priest!Lying finally catches up to them and absolutely destroys them in combat then sealing them away again for corrupting the land.
  • Mood-Swinger: Witch goes from gleeful to mad at the drop of a hat.
  • Moral Myopia: They can mess with you but you aren't allowed to mess with them.
  • Never Hurt an Innocent: Witch Lying is awful, but even they’d never hurt a child!
  • Nightmare Face: Not only does the Witch have blood all around their eyes, but they also have a smile that can escape the confines of their face!
  • Not Quite Dead: Being sealed in a well for as long as they were should have killed them, only by feasting on the life of other alternate Lying's do they survive long enough to get free, and boy are they not happy.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Witch about Kirin
  • Red Right Hand: The Witch's magically induced heterochromia.
  • Slasher Smile: Witch's infamous creepy smile that can leave their face.
  • Shared Unusual Trait: They share their complete heterochromia with Knight!Lying.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can
  • Suddenly Bilingual: At the end of their monologue to Kyofushin, Witch makes a Badass Boast in Japanese.
  • Survival Mantra: Back in the well, the Witch had this whole thing about how weren't we all stars once?
  • The Corruptor: Witch just seems to bring out the worst in everyone.
  • Trauma Button: Do be careful talking about the well and Kirindave.
  • Unusual Ears: As a result of their tinkering with their genetics, they have a pair of fox ears.
  • We Used to Be Friends: The relationship between Kirin and them.
  • Wizard Needs Food Badly: The reason for activating the original ritual that killed so many versions of them, left with no other real option, they preformed a very slap together ritual just to starve off starvation and survive.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: They have an acute fear of water. Understandable, as they spent who knows how long trapped in the well.

    Kyōfushin
"The name is comprised of Kyōfu and shin. Kyōfu translates literally as fear. Shin means a few things but it also has a lot of superstition around it as meaning “death”."
Lying

    Lying-shisai (Priest!Lying)

    Kegare
  • Brain in a Jar
  • The Corrupter: Every action Kegare takes tends to be in service of trying to corrupt Lying-Shisai and make them fall.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Kegare allows the now godly Lying-shisai to grant zem a new form. Though ze lost the ability to talk as penace. They now seem completely content at now being a more mobile yokai despite the fact they have been up to this point a heavily dubious character.

  • Deal with the Devil: Though Fey has yet to show any true malice to anyone, making deals with them has been described as this.

  • The Fair Folk
  • Long-Lived: They have been alive for at least a century with no sign of old age in the slightest.
  • Mark of the Supernatural: Lying's red markings around their eyes.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Fey!Lying has no issues with iron, something most fey find toxic and dangerous. This is because Fey!Lying has an iron misting.
  • Parasol of Pain: Fey's trademark item, their invincible umbrella.
  • Sheathe Your Sword: Fey tends to fight by rooting to one place and keeping their umbrella up as a shield, letting attacks bounce harmlessly, at least to them, off of it.
