    Setrákus Ra

The Big Bad of the series, and the leader of the Mogadorians. He runs the Mogadorian Army, and wants to occupy Earth for its resources. He also happens to be the tenth Elder of Lorien, but was banished for his experiments.

  • Big Bad
  • Dirty Coward: Using his Dreynen, he is able to cancel the powers of the Garde. Six is quick to call him out on this.

    The Mogadorians
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mogadorian_8902.jpg

A race of aliens from the planet Mogadore who wasted all their natural resources so invade nearby life-sustaining planets, i.e. Lorien and Earth, to kill all the inhabitants and take their resources. The leader is Setrákus Ra.

  • Always Chaotic Evil: The Mogadorians exterminate all life on a planet (including all members of the species from that planet that escape), then find another planet to wipe clean. Except Adamus Sutehk, aka Adam, who helped Sam's father escape from the Mogadorians.
  • Ancient Astronauts
  • Badass Longcoat
  • Conspicuous Trenchcoat
  • Evil Is Hammy: Kevin Durand had some fun playing the Mog leader.
  • Expy: Every Mogadorian looks like a gill-nosed Lord Voldemort.
    • Only those in the film. The Fallen Legacies add that only the vat-born Mogs look like this.
  • Faux Affably Evil/Laughably Evil: The leader of the Mogs delivers some of the funniest lines in the film.
  • For the Evulz: The Mog leader scares the crap out of a little boy in an adjacent car for no other reason than this.
  • Giant Flyer: They're more like giant gliders, but the Mogadorians' secret monsters are still this.
  • Humanoid Abomination: The Mogs are Humanoid Alien. According to The Fallen Legacies, most of them are grown in underground vats (because their birth rate has plunged dramatically, possibly due to the pollution of their homeworld.) These vat-born Mogs are the deathly pale, butt-ugly ones like the scouts in the film.
    • Natural-born Mogs can more easily pass for human - other than the fact that they are much bigger and taller.
  • I Don't Like the Sound of That Place
  • Made of Iron: The only things that seem to be able to kill a Mog is a Mogadorian blade or one of their weapons.
    • Somewhat justified. The Lorien weapons we see amount to a slightly over-sized dagger, and a slightly over-sized energy pistol. The Mog weapons we see are a nastily serrated 3-foot sword and various high-energy rifles that either pump out ridiculous amounts of machine-gun-style rounds or single massive bursts. About what you'd expect from an entire race dedicated to wiping out other races for no apparent reason other than being sadistic.
      • The Mogadorians don't destroy planets just because it is said that they ruined their own planet and need resources to survive.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast
  • Oh, Crap!: The leader smirks as Four tries to heat up his explosive red bullets, then realizes he can actually do it and pull off the Pineapple Surprise. The speed of that expression change.
  • Pet Monstrosity: Krauls and pikens.
  • Pineapple Surprise: Number Four kills the Mogadorian leader by using his powers to set off all of the leader's bullets while they're still strapped to his chest.
  • Planet of Hats
  • Proud Warrior Race: Implied with the Mogadorians. The Mog leader mentions "where I'm from, men work" (not to mention his hunting trophies).
  • Villains Out Shopping: The Mogs keep their secret weapons sated with supermarket turkeys.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: The main deciders of this. Whether it be Cepans to force Garde to watch tortured, or the two conspiracy theorists, one of whom is forced to swallow what looked like a miniature version of a Sentinel Sphere from Phantasm.

    The Elders
There were ten original Elders, and the ten Garde are meant to inherit their powers. Of course, four are dead, and Ella can't take the role, even though she has Loridas' powers.

  • The Chosen One: One of them will become Pittacus Lore. Probably Four, but Eight and Nine seem like great contest. There is nothing sexist about that, not at all.
  • Kayfabe: The very first pages of the book is a "disclaimer" stating the events depicted in the book are real. Also the author bio states the "Pittacus Lore" is the ruling elder of Lorien currently in hiding.

    Lara and Liren
Lara and Liren are Number Four's parents. As per the rules of Lorien, they weren't supposed to see him and he was to be raised by his Cepan and grandparents. Of course, this rule was broken. Arun and Lyn, their best friends and Six's parents, also broke this rule to the extent that they set up playdates between the two kids, about a year apart, at Four's house when they all visited. They were part of the Garde, and so fought during the Mogadorian attack.
