The Little Fighters

These are the 11 playable characters that you can select by default, arranged in reverse order of the menu.

    Davis

Davis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/davis_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/davis_face.png
Old portrait.
Davis is the main protagonist and mascot of the game. A simple yet powerful character, he rushes down his enemies with his fists. His strongest move is the Dragon Punch, a sudden and powerful energy uppercut.

    Woody

Woody

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/woody_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/woody_face.png
Old portrait.
Woody is a formidable and versatile melee fighter. A combo beast, he can rapidly close the distance and keep juggling his enemies. His strongest move is the Tiger Dash, a flying tiger knee attack that can be used on landing.
  • Dance Battler: Has a move where he does a spinaroonie as an attack. To a lesser degree, most of his attacks seem to be breakdance-based, resulting in this effect when he chains them together.
  • Extremity Extremist: Not as much as Dennis since he still uses punches in his basic attacks, but most of Woody's moves are various types of kicks.
  • Teleportation with Drawbacks: Two of his moves allow him to teleport, but only next to an enemy or ally respectively.
  • Tiger vs. Dragon: The Tiger to Davis's Dragon.

    Dennis

Dennis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dennis_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dennis_face.png
Old portrait.
Dennis is a high pressure fighter specializing in kicks. He keeps the pressure with long combo strings and homing energy balls. His signature move is the Whirlwind Kick, spinning like a helicopter as he moves forward to kick anyone in his way. Notable for having a grab-based infinite loop with Whirlwind Kick.
  • Extremity Extremist: All of his melee attacks are kicks. His hands are only used for shooting energy balls or swinging weapons.
  • Hurricane Kick: Dennis's signature attack.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: One of his special attacks has him lashing out with a quick flurry of kicks.

    Freeze

Freeze

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freeze_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freeze_face.png
Old portrait.
Freeze is an ice mage. He can not only freeze enemies for a combo, but also convert weaker energy balls into iceballs. His signature move is Whirlwind, a vortex that freezes and pulls enemies who get too close.
  • An Ice Person: All of his attacks use ice, and his specials can all freeze enemies.
  • Elemental Weapon: Freeze can create an ice sword for anyone to use.
  • Fire/Ice Duo: One half of the duo with Firen.
  • Fusion Dance: Firen and Freeze can fuse to become Firzen once they are both down to a third of their HP.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: In addition to being the only character with a heavy emphasis on freezing enemies, Freeze's Ice Blast attack is unique in that it converts most other projectiles into more Ice Blasts on contact. Projectiles deflected by his sword or melee attack also turn into ice blasts.
  • Painfully Slow Projectile: Freeze's Ice Blast is bar none the slowest projectile in the game, travelling slower than most characters' running speeds. Landing it often requires him to set up a combo and/or fire it at close range.
  • Status Effects: The game's trademark Freeze character (as you might expect). Frozen characters are unable to move and completely vulnerable to attack; additionally, they can be struck by allied attacks. Frozen characters defrost upon taking damage or after a period of time.
  • Tornado Move: Whirlwind swirls up an icy tornado which freezes enemies and lifts them into the air, leaving them helpless and open to air combos.

    Firen

Firen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/firen_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/firen_face.png
Old portrait.
Firen is a fire mage. By burning his enemies, he can make them unable to escape while also torching other nearby enemies, but must take care not to burn himself. His signature move is Explosion, which is Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • Breath Weapon: Can breathe fire to burn enemies in a short range in front of him with his Inferno ability. The ability can be maintained for as long as he has mana, which usually isn't long due to the large mana drain.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Unlike most other attacks in the game, Explosion costs a portion of Firen's HP to use.
  • Fireballs: His main long range attack. They can also be fired three times in succession, allowing him to juggle enemies with them if he lands a good hit.
  • Fire/Ice Duo: One half of the duo.
  • Fusion Dance: Firen and Freeze can fuse to become Firzen once they are both down to a third of their HP.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: Firen's special moves will set enemies on fire, which will spread to other enemies that the ignited enemy comes into contact with when being knocked back. This makes him great at breaking up crowds of mooks in Stage and Battle mode by setting multiple enemies ablaze, pinning them down. In addition, Inferno and Explosion will hit all enemies in range, giving him further area-of-effect damage.
  • Playing with Fire: If you couldn't already tell, Firen is all about attacking people with fire.
  • Wreathed in Flames: His Blaze ability cloaks Firen in flames while running forward, leaving behind a fiery trail. Both Firen himself and the trail of flames will burn enemies on contact.

    Louis

Louis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/louis_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/louis_face.png
Old portrait.
Louis is best described as an armored grappler. As his attacks are slow, he relies on his armor to punish opponents who either rush or hesitate to attack him. He is best known for shedding his armor when on low health, becoming LouisEX, a boss character.
  • Animal Motifs: The Phoenix. In addition to his signature Phoenix Palm attack, Louis's ability to transform into LouisEX at low health reflects the phoenix's rebirth motif.
  • Didn't Need Those Anyway!: Executing the right key combination when he is on low health will cause him to discard his armor and arrange his breastplate into a cool-looking spear.
  • Elemental Punch: Thunder Punch, which can actually hit twice for massive damage if landed on an enemy's back!
  • Grapple Move: The only character with a command grab, and it is a Human Hammer-Throw to boot!
  • Immune to Flinching: Downplayed; his armor gives him additional resistance to flinching from most regular attacks, but hitting him twice in quick succession will still cause flinching.
  • Improvised Weapon: Once he breaks out of his armor, the individual pieces can be picked up and thrown.
  • Meteor Move: Air Thunder Punch
  • Mighty Glacier: His armor gives him better defense than most characters by letting him shrug off a few more attacks, but he's also fairly slow because of it and has few mobility options in his kit.
  • Turns Red: Can transform into the faster and stronger LouisEX at low health.
  • Weak to Magic: Certain attacks, especially fire and ice spells, will ignore his armor.

    Rudolf

Rudolf

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rudolf_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rudolf_face.png
Old portrait.
Rudolf is a ninja who uses his unusual moves, speed and range to harass his enemies. He is best known for turning invisible(and invincible), creating clones and transforming into his enemies.
  • Ditto Fighter: Upon grabbing his enemy, he can transform into his enemy, stealing said enemy's entire moveset for future use. He may only steal one character's moveset at a time though.
  • Doppelgänger Attack: His signature ability, which creates two copies of himself with all his attacks but minimal HP.
  • Dual Wielding: Carries a pair of katanas.
  • Flash Step: Rudolf can perform a dash that briefly turns him invisible to avoid attacks while running, unlike the other characters' dodge rolls.
  • Fragile Speedster: Rudolf doesn't have any hard-hitting attacks, but he has very high movement speed and an array of tricks up his sleeve.
  • Gratuitous Ninja: There isn't any real in-game reason for Rudolf to be a ninja among the motley crew. Granted, the lack of plot means it makes about as much sense as anything else.
  • Nothing Up My Sleeve: The way Rudolf holds items that he picks up means that he can conceal smaller weapons (such as a knife or boomerang) to surprise enemies, though larger ones (like the baseball bat and Freeze's ice sword) will stick out.
  • Stock Ninja Weaponry: Specifically the katanas and shurikens.

    Henry

Henry

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/henry_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/henry_face.png
Old portrait.
Henry is an archer. True to his archetype, he is a Long-Range Fighter relying mostly on arrowfire and the occasional strike with his bow. His signature move is the Sonata of Death, where he plays the flute, creating an anti-gravity field around him.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: His Critical Shot and flute are both able to pierce Julian, Knight and Louis' armor.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Henry is one of the two ranged attackers among the main cast, and compared to Rudolf, he's not quite as good at melee combat due to his lack of close-range moves aside from Sonata (which leaves him vulnerable and can be interrupted). However, he can easily kite enemies with his arrows and keep them at bay from long range.
  • Musical Assassin: He can lift nearby enemies and weapons into the air by playing his flute.
  • One Hit Poly Kill: His Critical Shot ability pierces through every enemy in its path.

    John

John

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/john_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/john_face.png
Old portrait.
John is a defensive mage, casting shields and healing himself. He is a good fighter in duels, though his spells are best used for support rather than offensive crowd control. His signature move is the Energy Disc.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: The disc is able to cut through Julian, Knight and Louis' armor.
  • Barrier Warrior: He can create temporary shields to ward off attacks (or use as an attack).
  • Combat Medic: The only one of the regular characters with a healing ability.
  • Deadly Disc: A homage to the Destructo Disc used by Krillin in Dragon Ball.
  • The Red Mage: Two of John's moves are for offense (his energy blast and energy disc), while his shield and healing are defensive in nature (though his barrier can also hurt enemies that walk or are thrown into them).

    Deep

Deep

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deep_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deep_face.png
Old portrait.
Deep is a powerful swordsman, punishing his enemies' mistakes with quick sweeping slashes. However, he has limited range and mobility. His signature move is the Dashing Strafe, where he charges forward while slashing 4 times for massive damage.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Unlike the other regular characters, Deep has no long-ranged attack and thus has to remain up close and personal with his enemies.
  • Mighty Glacier: Deep hits very hard at melee range with his powerful sword attacks; the catch is getting within sword range with his slow movement speed and lack of ranged moves.
  • Sword Beam: His projectile attack launches energy blasts from his sword. Unlike most projectiles in the game, though, Deep's sword blasts only travel a short distance before dissipating.

    Template

Template

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/template_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/template_face.png
Old portrait.
Template is the weakest character in the game. He is featureless and transparent; meant to be used as a foundation to create other characters or as a punching bag for combo practice. Does not appear in any Stage or Survival mode.

Boss Characters

These 4 characters are exceptionally powerful and can only be accessed under certain conditions or a cheat code.

    Julian

Julian

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/julian_f_6.png
Current portrait.
The Final Boss of Little Fighter 2. A masked grey-skinned giant, he is resistant to damage while dominating foes with overwhelming brute force. It is left ambiguous as to what kind of creature Julian is, only that he is an "evil spirit".
  • Dragon Punch: While not as fancy as Davis', it has a followup kick for greater overall damage.
  • Elemental Punch: Like Louis, it can potentially hit twice for even greater damage.
  • The Faceless: Julian's face is always concealed by a mask, with only his ominously glowing red eyes visible.
  • Flash Step: Also leaves behind a mirror image.
  • Immune to Flinching: His armor protects him against up to two basic attacks at a time, making it very hard to flinch him.
  • Lightning Bruiser: As befitting a Final Boss, Julian is fast, hits incredibly hard, and can tank more damage with his armor than most characters even when outside of Stage Mode (where he has incredibly beefed-up HP).
  • Kamehame Hadoken: His Soul Bomb can power through multiple enemies, even exploding if it sustains sufficient damage or is allowed to travel far enough.
  • King Mook: To Justin, which show up before him in the level and are effectively weaker versions of him.
  • Magic Missile Storm: His Skull Blasts are widely considered his most dangerous attack due to its high rate of fire, damage potential and homing capabilities.
  • Pillar of Light: His Big Bang attack results in this.
  • Unblockable Attack: Both the aforementioned Soul Bomb and Big Bang attacks.

    Firzen

Firzen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/firzen_f_6.png
Current portrait.
Firzen is an entity born from the fusion of Firen and Freeze. Having mastery over both fire and ice spells, he is a boss notorious for being able to One-Hit Kill any foe unlucky enough to get caught in his spells, especially his signature Arctic Volcano.
  • Fusion Dance: Firen and Freeze can fuse to become Firzen once they are both down to a third of their HP.
  • Hour of Power: A Firzen formed from combining Firen and Freeze only lasts temporarily before de-fusing. Naturally, as a boss or if selected from the start, Firzen will not de-fuse.
  • Kamehame Hadoken: Firzen Cannon, a bright yellow beam that can fire continuously for over five seconds if starting at full MP bar.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Creates an ice shield whenever he blocks.
  • Magic Missile Storm: Overwhelming Disaster lives up to its name by bombarding every opponent on screen with fire and ice projectiles.
  • Squishy Wizard: Relatively speaking. Firzen's special attacks are clunky in a melee fight, and unlike Julian, he has no armor. However, he can wreak nearly unparalleled amounts of mayhem against entire armies with his spells.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Naturally, Firzen's attacks use both fire and ice.

    LouisEX

LouisEX

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/louisex_f_6.png
Current portrait.
LouisEX is a spearman, resulting from Louis breaking off his armor out of desperation. With extremely high stats, long reach and a rapidfire shockwave attack, he is a force to be reckoned with. His signature move is the Phoenix Dance, a 4-hit spear combo.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Very fast and hits very hard, so he has no problems getting within spear range of enemies and putting it to good use.
  • Meteor Move: Air Thunder Punch
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Easily the strongest character in the game in terms of throwing strength, even outperforming the actual muscular giants among the cast. It makes a lot more sense when you consider how absurdly heavy Louis's armor is; most characters struggle to throw even a single piece of it, so he'd have to be pretty strong to run while wearing the full set, and not having to lug around the armor lets him use his full strength.
  • Shed Armor, Gain Speed: Much faster than regular Louis due to breaking out of his armor.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Very high physical stats, but his combos can be easily punished.

    Bat

Bat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bat_f_4.png
Current portrait.
Bat is a fighter with above-average stats but limited moves. His signature move is Summon Bats, homing projectiles that scale with the number of enemies.
  • Attack Animal: Can summon swarms of bats to attack enemies.
  • Eye Beams: One of his special moves fires a laser beam from his eyes. The laser is actually formed from a number of projectiles, allowing it to break through a limited number of enemies and projectiles.
  • Flash Step: Does this for his Speed Punch.

Minions

These 9 sub-characters are used as common fodder, as such they are not very powerful. They can only be accessed with a cheat code.
    Bandit

Bandit

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bandit_f.png
Current portrait.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bandit_face.png
Old portrait.
The lovable basic enemy. Very weak with no special moves, but very common.
  • The Goomba: With minimal health and no special moves, Bandits serve as the most basic of basic mooks.

    Hunter

Hunter

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hunter_f.png
Current portrait.
A slightly stronger variation of the Bandit, the Hunter uses a bow and aims to shoot players from a distance.
  • The Goomba: They're just as plentiful and weak as Bandits are, if marginally more dangerous due to their ranged attacks.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Just like Henry, Hunters can attack from long range, but don't have any options for fighting up close.

    Mark

Mark

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mark_f.png
Current portrait.
Mark is a bodybuilder with extremely damaging melee attacks. His signature move is the Shoulder Charge.
  • Mighty Glacier: One of the more physically powerful mooks with a strong punch and Shoulder Charge, but is quite slow and has no ranged attacks.

    Jack

Jack

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jack_f.png
Current portrait.
Jack is a mid-tier fighter with both an energy projectile and his signature Flash Kick.
  • Kame Hame Hadouken: Unlike a lot of melee-oriented enemies, Jack is capable of attacking at range with an energy blast.

    Sorcerer

Sorcerer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sorcerer_f.png
Current portrait.
These casters deal very minimal damage, but can burn or freeze their enemies, as well as heal themselves or teammates.
  • Death of a Thousand Cuts: Has the lowest physical damage of the entire cast, and his spells don't do much damage on their own, but they can wear you down over time.
  • The Faceless: Sorcerers' faces are concealed by their hoods.
  • Mook Medic: They have the same healing moves as John, allowing them to heal themselves and allies.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Can attack using Firen's fireballs and Freeze's ice blasts.

    Monk

Monk

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monk_f.png
Current portrait.
Monks are very slow but relatively strong tanks. They are best known for their Shaolin Palm, a short range shockwave.
  • Immune to Flinching: When performing the Shaolin Palm attack.
  • Unique Enemy: While he appears as a common enemy in Survival mode, in Stage mode he normally appears as an ally, only being encountered as an enemy exactly once.

    Jan

Jan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jan_f.png
Current portrait.
Jan is the only female character in the game. She is notable for being the only character who can heal all her allies at once by summoning angels, making her the undisputed best and main healer in the game.

    Knight

Knight

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/knight_f.png
Current portrait.
An armored giant wielding a sword and shield. While they are slow to attack, they are surprisingly quick on their feet and are extremely resistant to flinching.
  • Giant Mook: Knights are notably taller than most characters.
  • Heavily Armored Mook: Their armor can resist most attacks, making them more resilient than most enemies even before factoring in their high HP.
  • Immune to Flinching: Or at least resistant to it with their heavy armor. They have the same armor rating as Julian, meaning they will usually take two hits before they start receiving damage.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: They carry shields, which they use when blocking attacks.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Like Bandits and Hunters, Knights have no special moves. They rely on their heavy armor and powerful sword attacks to pose a threat.
  • Weak to Magic: Certain attacks, especially fire and ice spells, will ignore his armor.

    Justin

Justin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/justin_f.png
Current portrait.
Justin is a masked henchman who resembles the final boss. While not particularly strong or powerful, they are very dangerous in packs and will often interrupt attacks.
