“I want Sage.”

  • Fantastic Slur: Brooke calls Savannah a “Weiner dog,” which everyone treats as a horrible insult.
  • Hidden Depths: Brooke first comes off as a cruel narcissist, but it’s revealed that she’s a bulimic, insecure girl with a dead father and a mother who doesn’t care that she exists.
  • Like Mother, Like Daughter: Brooke treats Gigi like how her mother treats her: neglecting her, caring about her outward appearance more than her well-being, and believing that buying expensive toys equates to love.
  • Love Triangle: Brooke is in one with Savannah against Sage.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Many examples.
    • Brooke had an old video of her kissing Tom and says she’ll frame it as cheating if she doesn’t make him do her bidding.

  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: While she seems like an arrogant bully, it stems from the fact that she's really insecure and struggles with her neglectful mother and eating disorder issues.
  • Stripperiffic: An in-universe example. Despite the fact that she lives in a world with anthropomorphic animals that don’t wear clothes most of the time, Sage identities her outfit at the party to be “skimpy.”
  • We Used to Be Friends: Brooke used to be best friends with Savannah.
  • Wild Teen Party: Brooke throws one of these.
  • Your Makeup Is Running: Happens to her in the season one finale. She had a Rage Against the Reflection moment because of it.

The ex boyfriend of Brooklyn Hayes who Savannah has a crush on. In season two, Sage has broke up with Brooke and got into a relationship with Savannah. However, in episode twenty-eight, Savannah was forced to break up with Sage.
  • Hidden Depths: In episode six, he claims to have these by saying that just because he’s captain of the football team, that doesn’t make him a stereotypical jock.
  • Love Triangle: He is in two of these.
    • The main one is Brooke and Savannah for him. Savannah wins.
    • The second most prominent one was him and Tom for Savannah. Sage wins.
  • Official Couple: He and Brooke are in season one. In season two, it’s him and Savannah. However, Brooke forced Savannah to break up with Sage in episode twenty-eight.
  • Satellite Love Interest: Sage, despite him being a result for most of the conflict of the series, isn’t given that much depth.

Savannah breaking up with him hits Tom hard, because he’s so heartbroken he moves to France just to get away from everyone he knows.

    Brigitte Le Blanc
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/50fbb20f_01e4_43fe_a157_08f2525a64dd.jpeg
”Oh! I am so sorry. I forget you are...in love together.”
Brigitte is a Foreign Exchange Student from France. She moves in with Sage in season two and is a little too close with him for Savannah’s liking. However, so far it has been left ambiguous what Brigitte’s exact intentions are.
  • Alliterative Name: Her name has two Bs in it.
  • Beta Couple: She is this with her boyfriend Phillipe.
  • Everyone Looks Sexier if French: Brigitte is French and considered to be very attractive.
  • Foreign Exchange Student: She is from France.
  • Girlfriend in Canada: Subverted. When Sage mentions that Brigitte has a boyfriend in France, one may think this is a lie so Savannah would be less suspicious, but in episode 23 we see a boxer in France named Phillipe, implying that this is Brigitte’s boyfriend.
  • Hidden Depths: There have been hints that Brigitte’s kind and innocent persona is a facade. It’s important to note this has not been confirmed yet, however.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Brigitte, who has lived in France her whole life, doesn’t understand that kissing someone on the cheek isn’t a thing friends do in America.
  • Kick the Dog: When Sage comes in angrily telling her Savannah just dumped him, she gives a big "The Reason You Suck" Speech. Justified, however, as Sage was unreasonably accusing her of being the reason why Savannah broke up with him.
  • Love Triangle: She’s in one with Savannah against Sage. However, it’s unclear if the love triangle is just from Savannah’s perspective.
  • Official Couple: She is this with Phillipe.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Brigitte gives a big one to Sage after he unreasonably accuses her of being the reason why he and Savannah broke up.
  • Romantic False Lead: Brigitte’s role in the series has been being an obstacle in Savannah and Sage’s relationship.
  • Satellite Character: We don’t know much about her. Her only role in the series is making Savannah worried that Sage will choose him over her.
    Gigi/Mimi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4407a148_0f19_4bed_ba36_7648a1df09ff.jpeg
Brooke’s pet cricket who runs away one day. She is then found by Savannah, who takes her in as her own.
  • Abusive Parents: Her caretaker, Brooke, didn’t care about her existence until she disappeared. Even then, she was just a prize to be won.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She makes brief appearances in season one.
  • I Am Not Weasel: Her model is clearly an LPS caterpillar but is often referred to as a cricket.
  • Kick the Dog: An almost literal example. She’s treated so badly by Brooke she runs away. She finally finds some peace and happiness with Savannah, but then she’s forced to return to her miserable old life.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: She’s so cute, Brooke almost sent the Reed family into bankruptcy to get her back.
    Violette
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0a4d6323_66b1_4222_b7b0_1c4117822b15.jpeg

  • Everyone Looks Sexier if French: Like Brigitte, she’s French and attractive.
  • Hidden Depths: She appears sweet and kind, but the end of episode twenty-nine shows her feeling bitter and spiteful towards Savannah.
  • Love Triangle: An unusual variation: she’s in one with Savannah against Tom, but Savannah seems to have forgotten Tom’s existence. Rather, she’s in a love triangle against Tom’s feelings towards Savannah.
  • Official Couple: She becomes one with Tom.
  • Walking Spoiler: It’s hard to say anything about her without revealing A) Tom becomes a Foreign Exchange Student in France and B) she becomes Tom’s new girlfriend.
    The Lawrence twins
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d2ab0d81_34ff_419a_86f3_0c6f82b19a88.jpeg
Left to right: Lana and Josh
Lana: We have to keep our secrets, Josh. Paw promise?
Josh: Paw promise.
Josh and Lana Lawrence are twin brother and sister. They arrive at Orange County Day for a chance at a normal high school life, despite both having a Dark Secret to keep.
  • Alliterative Name: Lana Lawrence.
  • All There in the Manual: It’s only stated they’re twins in the Youtube description of their debut appearance.
  • Brother–Sister Team: They’re twins and have a very close relationship. They also live together alone.
  • Dark Secret: Lana insists their secrets must be kept in order to have any chance at a normal high school life. Interestingly, they each have their own secrets. Josh even got mad at his sister for treating them too similarly.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: At least for Lana; she tells her brother he can’t mess anything up as this is their one chance at a normal life.
  • It's All My Fault: Lana claims their situation is pretty much her fault.
  • Mysterious Past: God, where to begin? They come right out of nowhere in episode twenty-three, and every time they return, they raise far more questions than they answer. But just to start: they each with their own Dark Secret and enroll at Orange County for their “one chance at a normal high school life.” They live alone and have to pay rent by themselves because their parents-or any legal guardians-are out of the picture. Lana doesn’t have any easily traceable records, and it’s implied that Brooke recognizes her.
  • Parental Abandonment: According to Lana, their parents don’t care about them and are out of the picture. She and her brother live alone and have to pay rent by themselves.
  • Pinky Swear: They share a “paw promise” about keeping their secrets in episode twenty-three.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Downplayed. They have their similarities, but certain traits are conflicting; Josh is sensitive and wants to get to the roots of problems, while Lana is The Stoic who gets straight to the point. She’s also overworking hours while Josh can’t get enough. In other words, if one of them has a weakness, their twin makes up for it. This makes them a very good Brother–Sister Team.
  • The Stoic: Lana. Her brother teases her with a playful surprise for showing emotion at one point.
