  • Blood Knight: Zenki is always ready to fight other evils and will get disappointed if the enemy is weak.
  • Elemental Powers: Zenki has access to different elements seen during the series.
  • Fiery Redhead: His hair is at least partially red but he is still fits this trope very well.

  • Older Alter Ego: He may look like a wimp but when he transforms he's a big muscular man.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Chiaki, while most of the time they argue when there's a battle Zenki will defend her inmediately.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Both in appearance and personality Zenki is the red while Goki is the blue one.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: Though the "good" part is debatable.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Upon being healed with Chiaki and Goki's helps he unlocks his Great Demon form, this allowed Zenki to match Inugami when previously there was a big difference in strength.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: He really enjoys Karuma's seed, other times he is seen eating bananas.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: He and Chiaki often bicker and argue a lot and his big form would sometimes even try to kill her from time to time thinking it would set him free, but they work really well together and genuinely care for one another.

Chiaki Enno

  • Dub Name Change: In Enoki Films' licensing materials, her name is "Cherry Night" which is the name she received in most dubs, however, Chiaki does keep her original name in the English dub and the Tagalog redub.
  • Kid with the Leash: She is this to Zenki, she is the only one who can unseal his true power so the ancient demon has no choice but to follow her.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Zenki, the constantly annoy each other but Chiaki really worries for the demon if he gets hurt.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: She and Zenki constantly bicker and argue with each other and she gets annoyed and frustrated with his way of doing things and often subjects him to hilarious punishments and teasing. When the time comes for them to work together, though, they do it really well as a team, and they both genuinely care for each other.
