Kilala in the 2020 sequel.
The titular character and the main protagonist of the series.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Becoming the 7th Princess leads to Kilala becoming a Disney Princess.
  • Butt-Monkey: In Volume 3, while competing in the Cinderella Girl Contest Kilala struggles to complete the tests.
  • The Chosen One: With her proficiency in using the Magic Tiara, it’s revealed she is the legendary 7th Princess destined to save Paradiso.
  • Disney Death: While saving orphans from a church Valdou set ablaze, the building collapses on her after all the children manage to escape. Her body appeared unconscious until Rei kisses her, and she wakes up.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: When she wears the Magic Tiara.
  • Fangirl: Of Disney, particularly the Disney Princesses. She even has a Mickey Mouse badge on her skirt.
  • Honorary Princess: Despite how the manga ends, Kilala is not recognized as an official Disney Princess.
  • Idiot Hero: Zig-zagged. Kilala has her air-headed and impulsive moments, but her vast knowledge of Disney Princess lore proves useful when exploring the Worlds.
  • It's All My Fault: Kilala weeps as she patches Rei’s wounds when they are captured by the Evil Queen, thinking she is at fault for his injuries.
  • The Klutz: Tends to trip and fall.
  • Magical Girl: With the power of the Magic Tiara, Kilala fights the revived Disney villains.
  • Mukokuseki: Although her name is of Japanese origin, Kilala has blonde hair and blue eyes. However that doesn’t eliminate the possibility that she is biracial, since her father has dark hair.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her parents had left before the story began to Paradiso to seek medical care for her mother. Later subverted, as they return to Avalon to escape war in Paradiso.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Her design in the sequel puts her in a pink uniform, playing up from the single pink bow on her original design.
  • The Pollyanna: Although she faces many dangers and betrayals throughout her journey and even nearly dies in a church fire, Kilala still remains optimistic.
  • The Power of Friendship: What empowers her to use the Magic Tiara.
  • The Power of Love: Her and Rei’s mutual love empowers both.
  • Prone to Tears: She cries when her loved ones are in danger and when she doubts herself.
  • Shipper on Deck: Unapologetically vouches for Erica/Kenta.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Kilala’s name is written like “Kirara” in Hiragananote , however it is spelled as “Kilala” in the English release.
  • True Blue Femininity: Her school uniform consists of a blue vest and a navy-colored skirt.
  • Vague Age: She's a student capable of taking care of herself and in the ending scene, which doesn't take place too long from the final battle, she marries Rei, so it's likely she's around 17-18 in the original series.

    Rei
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eeca6bff_fd09_4855_913c_afc452a039c0.jpeg
The male lead of the series.
  • Amnesiac Hero: When Kilala first found him, he had no memory of being the Prince of Paradiso and only remembered the mission of finding the 7th Princess.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: Ursula tries to make Rei her husband to become queen.
  • Distressed Dude: In Ariel’s world, Kilala has to rescue him from Ursula’s clutches.
  • Meaningful Name: “Rei” means “king” in Portuguese.
  • The Power of Love: Rei’s love for Kilala powers up his sword to be strong enough to cut Valdou in half.
  • Vague Age: It's likely he's 17-18, since although he had to be accompanied by Valdou to Avalon, he's old enough to be "engaged" to Sylphy and to marry Kilala.

    Tippe

Kilala’s pet flying mouse.
  • Mix-and-Match Creatures: Tippe is supposed to be a mouse, but that’s only in terms of her size and tail. She resembles more of a rabbit with her large ears. And though she lacks wings, Tippe always had the ability to fly.
  • Informed Species: She’s a mouse... with large ears... who happens to fly.
  • Talking Animal: Gains the ability to talk while in the Disney Princess Worlds.
  • Team Pet: Follows Kilala in her adventures.

    Valdou

Rei’s fiancé from Floradiso.
  • Arranged Marriage: She’s engaged to Rei for political reasons, but they break off the engagement later on.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Initially introduced as an ally to Paradiso, but then revealed to be working for Valdou. Then she turns on Valdou and is bent on getting Rei back, before joining Kilala and the others for good.
  • Graceful Loser: Ultimately accepts that Rei truly loves Kilala in the final volume.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Wears outfits that show much of her skin.
  • Vague Age: She's most likely 18, since she's old enough to be "engaged" to Rei (who appears to be her age) and no one bats an eye at her skimpy fashions.
