The young and noble heir to a prestigious and well-renowned fighting family, Yugo Sangunji is very well-known throughout most of Japan for his excellent Karate skill, even going so far as to be nicknamed "The Lightning Tiger". After undergoing Karate training with his elder brother Akira, he was forced into fighting him as a result of their parents' disagreement over training methodologies. Refusing to follow his orders, he decided to leave home in order to embark on a journey that would test both his skill and strength, and upon learning of The Sacred Fist Tournament, Yugo decides to enter it, seeking to do battle against many strong challengers around the world.

Akira Sangunji is an expert Karate fighter who happens to be the elder brother of Yugo Sangunji. At first, Akira was always jealous of his young brother in being the successful one in their own Karate training while Akira had received little treatment. However...after warming up to Yugo, his love for him has grown ever since, but he still trains every day to step up to his young brother's own level.

One day upon coming home, Akira is shocked to see and discover his father's dead body from within the home's living room and that Akira himself had vowed to get revenge on whoever murdered him, but he hasn't told Yugo this sudden tragedy just yet. Within time, Akira had learned that a man named Kaiya Tsubaki was the one who had killed his father, due to the fact that Kaiya was an old rival to his father and that he had sought revenge after a past loss against him.

Upon learning about The Sacred Fist Tournament and realizing that Yugo might compete in it, Akira decides to head to the competition so that he can reunite with Yugo and ask for his assistance in having to fight Kaiya and avenge their father's death.

Hong Yuli had a very exciting childhood; her mother was a flower saleswoman, and her father was a businessman in the Chinese stock market. During his work, Yuli's father had encountered a Japanese businessman named Kaiya Tsubaki and that Kaiya had offered Yuli's father a position in his own personal corporation. Upon taking up the offer and working with Kaiya from within his own given time and opportunity, Yuli's father was shocked to see that Kaiya was actually a criminal leader and that he had sought to gain control over China's own criminal underworld.

Yuli's father had planned on going to the authorities so that he could inform them about Kaiya's shady work and dealings, but Kaiya had immediately knew of this and had both Yuli's father and mother murdered at their own home while Yuli, who had hid inside a closet from within the duration of the sudden home invasion, had saw it happen with her own innocent eyes when she was 10. Yuli had then became an orphan due to this tragedy.

Seeking training from her father's old friend, Su Qingtao, Yuli had learned the Drunken Fist style from her master, and became curious about it and its own true fighting potential. Yuli's training was successful, and she began her own personal mission to Japan so that she could enter The Sacred Fist Tournament in an attempt to fight Kaiya and avenge her parents' deaths.

Su Qingtao is a master of the Drunken Fist style of Kung Fu and that he also happens to be an old friend of Hong Yuli's father.

Qingtao had taught many of his students how to fight from within his homeland of China and that many who have trained under him have considered Qingato to being one of the greatest martial arts masters in all of China.

One day, Qingtao was shocked to learn of the unexpected murders of Yuli's own parents and decided to take Yuli in under his wing so that he could help her get stronger, both physically and mentally. Upon learning that Yuli had traveled to Japan in order to participate in The Sacred Fist Tournament, Qingtao had immediately went after her upon fearing the instant fact that Yuli's desire and obsession to get revenge against her parents' killer, Kaiya Tsubaki could get her killed in combat.

Douglas Anderson had learned two different styles of fighting to make his own hybrid martial art: Koppo from a well-renowned fighting tournament champion, and Jeet Kune Do from having to watch many Bruce Lee action movies when he was younger. Beside that, Douglas also had a strong sense of justice in wanting to help people out and defeat evil, which got him the attention of a government agency, and from there, Douglas had decided to work as a narcotics officer for them.

After facing and solving many crimes and cases from within his own time, Douglas had spent the next few years trying to hunt down a global crime organization known as The Tsubaki Corporation. However, after a major breakthrough in the case, his partner and old friend Jim was gunned down in cold blood, and in his last dying breath, he told Douglas that a woman having long orange wavy hair and a black dress did this. Douglas is shocked in his own mind upon realizing on who the possible perpetrator is and upon learning of The Sacred Fist Tournament being hosted by Kaiya Tsubaki, who happens to be the leader of The Tsubaki Corporation, Douglas enters it in order to confront both the possible killer and Kaiya.

Yoko Cindy Matsudaira was taught the fighting art of Koppo by her father, who was a five-time Koppo tournament champion. Cindy had loved her father very much and always looked up to him for support, but all of that would change one fateful night when Cindy's father was attacked by a group of muggers on his way home and that one of them had fatally stabbed him in the chest with a knife, leaving him to bleed out and die on the street. Cindy was devastated by the sudden murder of her own father and soon learned that his killing was no mere random act of violence. It turned out that a local crime boss had put a hit out on her father, due to the fact that he had refused to throw a past fight against one of his men from within a previous competition and that the local crime boss had sought immediate revenge against him.

In her own personal time, Cindy had tracked down the location of the local crime boss by posing as a street prostitute and through the use of her own Koppo, she had killed him and his associates from within a tough and vicious fight. Even though Cindy had gotten her revenge, she felt empty inside and didn't know on what to do next.

In the next few years, Cindy would go on to be a contract assassin, hiring herself to clients who are able to pay her well for both her fighting skills and her services. Eventually, she would get the interest of a Japanese businessman named Kaiya Tsubaki, who would hire her as his personal assassin in The Tsubaki Corporation and that she would do many jobs for him in an instant. During an assignment in Los Angeles, Cindy would meet up with a local man named Douglas Anderson and that the two of them would fall in love with each other and have an intimate relationship, but unfortunately, their romance was short-lived when Douglas found out that she was a hired assassin for The Tsubaki Corporation that he was currently investigating. Upon realizing that Douglas had now knew about her own devious job, Cindy had fought against him in combat and nearly killed him, though Douglas was able to escape from the imminent danger and ever since then, Cindy has hated him with a passion.

Cindy's current assignment from Kaiya is to enter The Sacred Fist Tournament to destroy whoever poses a threat to him, and to also kill her former lover Douglas as well.

Losing both of his parents at a young age, Allen had sought sanctuary in an orphanage, refusing to socialize with the other orphans. This had made him into a violent and troubled child.

One day after spending his time at the orphanage, an unknown foster father had came and took Allen under his own care, but the unknown foster father had proved to be a cruel and complete monster to Allen as he would constantly abuse and hurt him for his own sadistic enjoyment, going so far as to force him into learning the art of Muay Thai so that he could make Allen enter into every street fight held underground. Allen did so, and gained many successful victories, becoming an undefeated champion at the time.

One day after coming home from another successful victory at an underground street fight, Allen had grew utterly enraged by the constant abuse that came from his foster father and in an act of pure rage and hatred, he had violently murder his foster father by striking his nose cartilage with one devastating blow.

The day after the murder, Allen's spirit had turned cold like a devil, no longer having a care for anything in the world. Seeking a stronger opponent to do battle against, Allen had entered into The Sacred Fist Tournament, hoping to find someone to brutally hurt with his deadly Muay Thai.

Within time, Steve had managed to find sanctuary in a local kickboxing gym and from within that point, he had met a well-renowned kickboxing champion named James Carter, who would eventually adopt Steve and help him out from within his own time and accord.

Impressed by James' own personal style of Kickboxing, Steve was determined to learn from him, turning into an impressive fighter after years of intense training and sparring. Steve had dominated every competition as a world kickboxing champion and that he had gained many fans and admirers of his own superb ability. However...Steve was unimpressed with the small uneven number of kickboxers that he had fought against in combat and thus, he would try to seek out a Muay Thai fighter to test his own skills against from within sight.

One night after another successful kickboxing victory at a special fighting event, Steve had met an unknown Japanese businessman named Kaiya Tsubaki, who promised him that he would get the chance to take on a Muay Thai fighter if he was to come to The Tsubaki Corporation and work as a bodyguard for him. Although reluctant at first, Steve had agreed to the deal and began his job as one of Kaiya's bodyguards, entering into The Sacred Fist Tournament to destroy every Tsubaki Corporation threat, but his personal agenda is to fight and defeat an underground Muay Thai champion named Allen, a promise his boss Kaiya made to Steve.

Meanwhile, her father had decided to go on an extended vacation and passed down his own motorcycle collection to Ann, who was very impressed with them.

After hearing of The Sacred Fist Tournament and seeing a direct opportunity to make herself well-known to the world, Ann heads to the competition, planning to stage a street fighting event there in order to expand public interest into Amateur Wrestling.

During his time at the academy, Arthur had met a fellow student and female amateur wrestler named Ann Griffith and became good friends with her, helping her train and get better from within her own personal style of Amateur Wrestling. When Arthur turned 19, his father had suddenly disappeared and left his weapon company to his own son. Disappointed by the company's current pitiful state, Arthur had set off for the streets to find new employees that could help bring it back to its own past glory.

During his journey, Arthur had found Ann being beaten up by a couple of ruthless street bikers as they sought to steal her motorcycle collection while attempting to have their own way with her from within the process of their nefarious act. Arthur had immediately jumped to her rescue and defeated the street bikers in an instant.

Impressed by Arthur's own unique wrestling techniques and skills, Ann had thanked Arthur for saving her life and vowed to repay the favor one day. After hearing of The Sacred Fist Tournament from Ann and learning about his company's own war with The Tsubaki Corporation, Arthur enters the competition in the hopes of eliminating Kaiya, thinking that it will end the tough war between his corporation and Kaiya's.

Hyoma Tsukikage, along with his older sister. Kazane, were abandoned as orphans on the doorstep of a sacred place known as the Oomiwa Temple. A ninja master named Sessue Kanoh took them in and trained the two of them in the art of Ninjutsu.

Hyoma has remained loyal to the temple ever since and was even enrolled into a local high school by his master Sessue as a student so that he could learn and know much about the outside world.

Later, after hearing of Kazane's capture at the hands of The Tsubaki Corporation and his own parents' possible current whereabouts from his master, Hyoma enters into The Sacred Fist Tournament along with Sessue in order to save his sister and learn the location of his parents.

As the mentor of siblings Hyoma and Kazane, Sessue watches over them with a keen eye and seeks to help them become strong ninja masters. He has many students who learn from him and that he teaches them the virtues and disciplines of Ninjutsu.

Upon learing that Kazane was captured by a criminal organization known as The Tsubaki Corporation during a reconnaissance mission, Sessue enters into The Sacred Fist Tournament alongside Hyoma so that he can attempt to save her from the current danger.

Heinz Streit

Now, Heinz is a lone street brawler with no care in the world, except having to pick and join street fights for a living.

Bored of his constant fighting life from within the streets, Heinz decides to participate in The Sacred Fist Tournament in the hopes that he can find exciting battles at the competition.

Natsuki Kornelia is the daughter of a German father and a Japanese mother. She was brought up in a pampered lifestyle in which her parents had took very good care of her and sought to make her into an elegant lady. However, Kornelia didn't like her peaceful yet strict lifestyle and ran away from home in order to seek and experience the thrill and excitement.

While traveling alone through the streets of Germany, Kornelia had unfortunately ran into a small group of street thugs who had attempted to attack and have their own way with her, but unexpected help for Kornelia came when a young German man with blonde hair had immediately entered into the scene and attacked the thugs, forcing them into an instant retreat. Upon being surprised by this sudden development, Kornelia had decided to ask her impromptu rescuer on who he was and he told her that his own name was Heinz. Feeling indebted and connected to him from within her own time and accord, Kornelia had decided to travel with Heinz, learning how to defend herself through Pit Fighting so that she and Heinz could work together as an unbeatable team.

When Kornelia learned that Heinz was preparing to take part in The Sacred Fist Tournament, she decided to enter it as well so that she could test her own fighting skills out against him and see if she has what it takes to be a strong practitioner of Pit Fighting.

Mark Galeon's experience with pro wrestling began when he was forced to fend for himself in the streets as a teenager, since his mother and father had suddenly disappeared and never came back.

While battling against some street thugs who had attempted to rob an elderly couple, Mark was discovered by a "Grand Slam" wrestling promoter, who promised him that he could make him into a wrestling star if he was to join the "Grand Slam" wrestling promotion. Mark had accepted the deal and became one of the "Grand Slam"'s toughest wrestlers to ever appear.

Undefeated in the circuit, Mark had to face his old friend and rival, David Human, in the final match of a "Grand Slam" local wrestling event. The two of them had fought very well from within the match, but they could only manage a draw in the end, making them friendly rivals for years to come.

One day while preparing himself for another wrestling match, Mark is approached by an unknown well-suited man who claims to be a representative of The Tsubaki Corporation and that the unknown well-suited man tells Mark that his own boss, Kaiya Tsubaki, is quite impressed with Mark's superb wrestling skills and wants him to join his organization. Upon knowing about The Tsubaki Corporation's shady history and dealings, Mark instantly refuses the offer, which causes the unknown well-suited man to warn Mark that no one refuses an offer from The Tsubaki Corporation and lives to tell the tale about it. This threat proves to be indeed true as two weeks later, Mark and his daughter, who were currently making their way to the local city park in order to spend the day with each other, are nearly struck by a speeding car that came directly from behind them and even though the two of them had suffered some slight bruises via the quick evasion that Mark had initiated in order to save himself and his daughter, both are okay from within their own time and manner.

Mark realizes that The Tsubaki Corporation was behind the attempted murder and fears that those who are close to him will get hurt or killed because of them, thus he decided to embark on a solo mission to gather information about The Tsubaki Corporation so that he can destroy them and ensure the safety of both his family and friends. Upon learning about The Sacred Fist Tournament, Mark decides to enter it so that he can fight against Kaiya and see to it that the criminal organization pays for interfering in his own life.

Saya Tsubaki is the youngest child in the Tsubaki family. She loves her grandfather, Genya Tsubaki, very much and learned Kenpo from him in order to defend herself from any potential threat and get stronger, both physically and mentally. Although Saya doesn't know much about her own father, Kaiya Tsubaki, Genya wasn't willing to tell her about him and his own evil lifestyle.

One day while Saya was on her way to visit her grandfather after her studies at Kogugakuen High School, Genya had fought against his son, who had came to the family dojo in the hopes of seeing Saya and making her an offer to become his potential successor from within The Tsubaki Corporation. Within time, Saya had came to the location of the dojo and realized that something wasn't quite right from within her own mind. In an instant, Saya had immediately rushed into the dojo and saw that her own grandfather was on the ground in a badly bruised up state, causing Saya to turn her quick glance over to Kaiya and realize that he was the one who had attacked her grandfather, thus Saya had immediately ran at him in a state of pure anger and rage in the hopes of attacking him and avenging her grandfather's defeat, but Kaiya had easily brushed Saya aside with no problem and took his fast leave from within an instant.

While Saya had immediately went to her grandfather's aid, she had no clue that the man who attacked her grandfather was her own father Kaiya. Genya was hospitalized in a state of fair condition and that Saya had stayed by his bedside in the hopes that he would be able to recover from Kaiya's vicious attack against him. Within time, an American government narcotics officer named Douglas Anderson had arrived at the hospital and informed Saya that the man who had attacked her grandfather is believed to be Kaiya Tsubaki: the head of a criminal organization known as The Tsubaki Corporation. Upon hearing this, Saya is quite shocked to learn that Kaiya has the same last name as herself and asks her grandfather if Kaiya is somehow related to them. Realizing that he can't afford and continue to keep the secret from Saya any longer, Genya decides to tell Saya the hard truth that Kaiya is indeed her father and that he had left his family behind for his current life of crime and violence.

Shocked and saddened at the same time by this tough revelation, Saya makes a vow that she'll confront and fight her father in order to stop his evil ambition, thus she decides to take part in The Sacred Fist Tournament.

Genya Tsubaki is Saya's grandfather, Kaiya's father, and the Tsubaki clan patriarch. Genya was once the head of the Dojo, and had decided to pass down the Kenpo style to his grandaughter Saya.

Many years ago, Genya had passed down the Kenpo style to his own son, Kaiya in the hopes that he would be able to lead their clan through his own strength and determination, but unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be, as Kaiya had gotten himself involved in the criminal underworld and that he had became the leader of his own criminal organization known as The Tsubaki Corporation. Genya had regretted this decision, knowing full well that his son wasn't fully disciplined, and that he wouldn't tell Saya about him and his lifestyle.

One day, Genya was shocked to see that Kaiya had appeared before him at the family dojo and that his son had wanted to see his own daughter Saya in the hopes that he would be able to bring her into The Tsubaki Corporation and make her his heir once he retires. Genya had refused to let Saya go down the same dark path as Kaiya and was prepared to take on his own son in combat. Despite Genya's best efforts, Kaiya had proven to be too much for him to handle and that he was brutally beaten, being forced to spend most of his days in a hospital bed.

When Saya had asked him if Kaiya was somehow related to them, Genya had reluctantly told her the truth about Kaiya being her father and that Saya, though shocked and saddened by this revelation, had fully accepted it.

Upon learning that Saya was preparing to enter The Sacred Fist Tournament in order to confront and fight her father, Genya had wasted no time in going after her as he doesn't want Saya to get into critical danger.

Zhou Leimeng was once a secretary to the previous boss of the criminal organization that would later become known as The Tsubaki Corporation. He is also a bit of a coward as he would rather have his henchmen do his own dirty work for him.

When Kaiya Tsubaki had murdered his boss and took over the criminal organization, Zhou had finally earned a better position as a bodyguard to Kaiya and that he also serves as the second-in-command to their henchmen and their criminal activities.

Proud of being Kaiya's right-hand man, Zhou swore that he will eliminate anyone that gets in the way of the organization, thus he enters The Sacred Fist Tournament to ensure Kaiya's victory against his enemies.

Kaiya Tsubaki is the leader of a ruthless criminal organization known as The Tsubaki Corporation. In his earlier life, he was a young top student in the Tsubaki Dojo, learning Kenpo from his father, Genya Tsubaki, and that Genya had intended for his son to take up the mantle of leading their clan. However, Kaiya didn't care about the value of his family clan as he had secretly gotten himself involved in the Japanese criminal underworld and that he would soon become the right-hand man of a criminal drug lord who would take him under his wing and teach him everything there is to know. While keeping his criminal life a secret from everyone he knew, Kaiya, at age 20, would marry a woman that he had known since childhood.

A few years later, Kaiya would surprisingly murder his boss, betraying him and taking charge of his criminal organization, and also abandoning his whole family at the time of the murder. In the process, his wife had died giving birth to his daughter, Saya, leaving Genya to raise her and making sure that she doesn't go down the same dark path as her father.

Upon realizing that his evil actions have made various enemies for him throughout the entire world and being bored with the lack of fighting competition at the same time, Kaiya decides to create and sponsor a worldwide fighting event known as "The Sacred Fist Tournament" so that he can use it as a way to rid himself of his own adversaries while hoping to gain a strong opponent to do battle against from within the process of the competition's own progression. Also...Kaiya hopes that through the use of this tournament, his own daughter Saya will come to him so that he can attempt to convince her to join him in The Tsubaki Corporation and make her his potential successor once he retires.

Kazane Tsukikage is the older sister of Hyoma Tsukikage, and has spent most of her life training alongside with him under their mentor Sessue Kanoh. Prior to the start of The Sacred Fist Tournament, Kazane was sent on a reconnaissance mission to spy on The Tsubaki Corporation and its leader, Kaiya Tsubaki, but during the mission, Kazane was spotted and attacked, being kidnapped by the criminal organization's own members. This was the reason that Hyoma and Sessue enters The Sacred Fist Tournament in order to rescue her.
