    Liska and Markree's Family

Talwen Tas-so-ren (Grandfather)

  • Farm Boy: His only description given about him in his backstory.

Linna Ral-si-dan (Grandmother)

  • The Medic: According with the Katmandu Handbook, Leahtrah's healing abilities where inherited from her. Oddly enough, no one else in her family, not even Liska, had that skill.

Thea Ral-si-dan (Mother)

  • Farm Girl: Just like her father, she was also a farmer, and that could had being Liska's fate, hadn't she died first.

Darmin Tala-re-sha (Father)

  • Farm Boy: Same case as Thea, except they met during a feast celebrating a good harvest.

    Rial and Mother Sanna's Family

Athos Hada-ro-seg (Grandfather)

Age: 43 (when he died)
Height: Unknown
Date of Birth: A.K. 1690
Date of Death: A.K. 1733
Race: Velite (Tuxedo cat, just like Rial, based on descriptions about him in the handbook)
Mother Sanna's first and only husband, and the only character, outside Two-Sticks, that physically appears in the story, through he only appears in Katmandu: The XXX Files when he was younger.
  • The Lost Lenore: His death affected Sanna so greatly, that she never married again, through she had other lovers. Oddly enough, and only with the rest of the characters from this list, his cause of death is never mentioned anywhere, except that he died when he had 43.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Athos is the name of one of the Titans who defied the Greek gods during the Gigantomachia in the Classical Mythology. Also overlaps with Ironic Name, because Rial, his grandson, was taller than him in his prime. It's also the name of Mount Athos, a famous mountain located in Greece known for his male-only monastic order located there.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Rial, his nephew, and Athos Jr., aka Little Rial, were basically identical to him, according with the description given in the handbook and also in the XXX Files.

Voni Hada-ro-seg (Father)

Candance Forestdotir (Mother)

  • Missing Mom: Died of sickness three years later after her husband Voni died, and she never married again.
  • Odd Name Out: Judging by her clan name, she was either likely not a Native like Voni and his descendants, or she had foreign ancestry, since "Forestdotir" is an Icelandic surname. Also, it's heavily implied, according with her backstory, she had a more higher social status before marrying him.

    Pyndan and Panka's Family

Tropes associated with all of them:

Delos Kota-te-mar (Father)

Tressa Mab-ke-dan (Mother)

The Cursed Ancestor

As his name indicate, he was Pyndan's distant ancestor who lived in the past, and he was cursed by the Goddess just because he refused to give some berries to a girl, and for a good reason, causing him and his descendants to having many serious cases of either very few kids, or botched births, including Pyndan's own mother. It turns out it wasn't a curse, but a nasty hereditary case of genetic RH-incompatibility, which caused all those problems in Pyndan's family line, and he ended passing this on Liska, which almost kills her during childbirth. This also cause Liska some serious repercussions later on, as she had to give up her own fertility in order to prevent the same to happen to her
  • Disproportionate Retribution: The Goddess cursed him with serious fertility problems to all his family line just because he refused to give some berries to a little girl, and he did it because his wife gave them as a gift, not to mention he planned to give more food to the girl later if she wished.
