Aki Miyashita/Agira

The protagonist. Aki is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Agira, one of the capsule kaijus of Ultra Seven.
Along with Miku and Reika, she was invited to join GIRLS as a newcomer after her discovery of her possessing inhuman strength, as well as others. She's the most timid of the trio.
She has huge potential as a kaiju girl.
- Adaptation Dye-Job: People who are familar with the Ultra Kaiju Anthropomorphic Project franchise will noticed that Aki/Agira was given a little lighter skintone in the anime.
Miku Ushimaru/Miclas

A kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Miclas, one of the capsule kaijus of Ultra Seven.
She joins GIRLS as a newcomer along with Aki and Reika. She's the most cheerful of the trio.
While excels at sports, she can be a meathead most of the time, always taking action before thinking (One such instance has her soulriser locked out for 30 minutes!). She's the fan of "Big Kaiju Battles" and a fan of Benio/Red King.

Reika Shirogane/Windom

A kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Windom, one of the capsule kaijus of Ultra Seven.
She joins GIRLS as a newcomer along with Aki and Miku. She is the smartest of the trio.
While smart, she is secretly a yaoi fangirl, and is the fan of the BL manga ScoreYou. She can't tell her friends about this though.
As a kaiju girl, she fights the shadows from the distance, using the additional goggle (which used to be Windom's eyes) as the sniping scopes and shoots laser beam from her forehead parts.
- Blatant Lies: When she was asked by Aki and Miku on how she was able to transform into her kaiju girl form, Reika lies, saying that her kaiju soul reacted while reading books for knowledge at the bookstore. In reality however, Reika's kaiju soul reacted while she is reading a BL manga. Poor Reika never catch a break.
- Demoted to Extra: Along with Miku in the second season.
- Yaoi Fangirl: Reika is secretly one, and she can't tell her friends about this. In Episode 10, Reika's face went red when Mikazuki is telling Aki and Miku about ScoreYou in front of her.
Clala Thorn/King Joe

An American, Clala is a kaiju girl inherited the kaiju soul of King Joe.
A eye-catching beauty, Clala is a sketchy person, who usually won't speak much but deep inside, she is cheerful.
She helps Adelina to thwarted the eco-terrorist group's plan in chapter 2. In chapter 6, she help Makoto and Sora to rescue Madoka who is stuck in the landslide, but was attacked by the shadow beast and only to be save by Shinya and his kaiju girl teammates.
As a kaiju girl, Clala has monstrous strength, ability to fly and nearly indestructible armors. However, she doesn't seems to have any other ability and most relies on her strength, and she will angry whenever someone decided to point it out, especially Miko.
Originally a novel-only character, Clala had finally appeared in the anime's second season as one of the main characters.
- Attack Drone: Used in the episode 12 of second season, the cone-shaped parts on around her hips can be detached and use in such way.
- Berserk Button: As Miko find out, pointing out Clala's reliance on her strength is a bad idea.
- Implacable Woman: In her kaiju girl form, Clala's armor is nearly unbreakable that not even the military firearms can destroy it. The only known weakness to this is the corrosive acid from the certain shadows.
- Japanese Ranguage: Her given name was probably intended to be Clara, but Clala is used by the website for the show's second season.
Miko Innami/Alien Guts

A member of GIRLS, Miko is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Guts.A cocky person and a workaholic, she does almost any missions, from battle, searching for stray kaiju girls and bodyguarding. However, she later revealed that the reason why she forces herself to take any kind of missions is because she doesn't want to taint the name of the invincible Alien Guts.note
It was later revealed that for unknown reasons, she was partially possessed by the shadow mist. However, Miko unconsciously created a duplicate in her sleep and the shadow mist possessed the duplicate instead. This resulted in the birth of Shadow Guts.

Black Directive
Voiced by: Hiyori Nitta
A mysterious kaiju girl who appeared at the after credit scene in the final episode of second season and is one of the main character in the anime movie. She inherited the soul of Black Directive.
The leader of the mysterious organization Black Stars, she is self-centered and overconfident. Together with Silver Bloome and Nova, she working toward the goal which is invade the earth, though her motive is currently unknown.
- Adaptation Dye-Job: For her appearance in the anime movie, Black Directive has her skin color changed from pure white to the humanly pale white. In addition, the ribbon on her head was changed from black to red.
Satsuki Hiraga/Alien Pegassa
Voiced by: Yuki Yagi
A high-school girl who had recently awaken her ability as a kaiju girl and recruited by Black Stars. Like Izumi in the novel series, she inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Pegassa.
Silver Bloome
Voiced by: Minami Takahashi
A kaiju girl who is a member of Black Stars. She inherited the soul of Silver Bloome.
Unlike Black Directive, she doesn't have any interest in invading earth, and is often seen finding interest things on the internet through social media. She also has a bottomless appetite.
Nova (Black Stars)
Voiced by: Kaori Ishihara
A kaiju girl who is a member of Black Stars. She inherited the soul of Nova.
Her background is...mysterious, even to Black Directive herself. Rumor said that Nova is either a skill assassin, a former member of a special task force of some country, or even a normal gamer.
It is unknown if this is the same individual as the Nova that is affiliated to GIRLS.
Gatanothor
Voiced by Yui Ogura
A kaiju girl with an unknown background, she was caught by Satsuki's Dark Zone and was trapped in there until she was rescued by Black Directive when Satsuki recreate the Dark Zone...only to be recruited by the Black Stars after finding out the kaiju that she inherited her soul from.
- Can't Hold Her Liquor: Due to Black Directive's slight mistake by feeding her alcohol-mixed chocolates, she unwillingly start havoc around the city in her enlarged shell form while drunken!

Tomomi Okada/Pigmon

The kaiju girl who works as the teacher to the capsule girls trio. She inherited the kaiju soul of Pigmon.
A friendly person, she has smile on her face most of the time...or so we thought, as it turns out she can be scary at times even with her smile. It was implied in The Beginning Stories that she is one of the founding members of GIRLS alongside Makoto.
Despite being a kaiju girl, Tomomi is weak compare to the others, even a sport training will get her tired so easily.note
- Sensei-chan: She's in charge of teaching the capsule girls trio.
Zetton

A kaiju girl who is the current champion of "Big Kaiju Battles". She inherited the kaiju soul of Zetton, the very one who defeated Ultraman.
Mysterious is one word that can describe her; Not only her real name and birth date are misteries to everyone, but most people in GIRLS don't know what she is doing while not doing her duty as a member of GIRLS and as a champion of "Big Kaiju Battles". That doesn't mean that she's cool-hearted, as she is giving advices to Aki whenever she is in personal troubles.
As a kaiju girl, her strength and abilities are unmatched, which is why she is the current champion of "Big Kaiju Battles".
- Barrier Warrior: A standard ability she inherited from the kaiju Zetton. However, she can use in more than one way, such as deploying barriers around the fire and then shrinks the barriers until the fire was extinguished.
- Minidress of Power: Zetton's skirt is unusually short for a flying character, people could see her ... pixels!
- Only Known by Their Nickname: The only one in the web anime who doesn't have her real name revealed, even in season two.
- Teleport Spam: A standard ability she inherited from the kaiju.
- You Remind Me of X: She told Aki that she reminds her of herself in earlier days.
Benio Utagawa/Red King

A kaiju girl who is the former champion of "Big Kaiju Battles". She inherited the kaiju soul of Red King.
Unlike the kaiju she inherited the kaiju soul from, Benio is a nice person, though most of the time, she will always acts like a tough person. She also likes sweet food and cute things, but she doesn't want anyone to know about it...except one.note
She takes the responsibility as a kaiju girl seriously.
- Blatant Lies: When Reika ask her of how her bedroom looks like in episode 6 of second season, Benio panicky claims that her room is normal. However, audiences were given to see that her rooms is full of cute things. (Including a big Red King plush toy!)
- Spin Attack: Oh no! Red King needs to take down the attacking kaiju! How will she stop this foe? With spinning, of course!
- Spin to Deflect Stuff: Oh no! The berserk kaiju is attacking with flame! How will Red King survive? With spinning, of course!
- Tomboy with a Girly Streak: A former champion of Big Kaiju Battles, but her monster form has her retaining her twin tail hairstyle. Furthermore, she is fond of sweet food and cute things (including how her room is designed as one) but hides it well from everyone...except Sachiko.
Ran Kogami/Eleking

A senior kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Eleking. She works as an investigator in the investigation division of GIRLS.
Cool-headed, Ran is very strict on politeness, and this does gave Miku a bad first image of her.note She is also a manga and anime otaku, and like Reika, she's a Yaoi Fangirl, but doesn't care of hiding them from public.
Despite being a investigator, Kogami is nonetheless a capable fighter. Her main weapon is the whip that can conducts electricity.
- Shock and Awe: Kogami's whip can conducts eletricity. She can also use it to subdue someone, such as Reika when the latter almost went berserk after being hit by spoiler.
- Lightning Lash: In her kaiju girl form, the 'tail' part on her back can be detached as use as a whip. As a bonus, it can even conducts eletricity.
- Yaoi Fangirl: Unlike Reika, she doesn't seems to care about trying to hide it in the public.
Mikazuki Kuroda/Gomora

Born in Osaka, Mikazuki is a kaiju girl who is a contestant of "Big Kaiju Battles". A jokester and a happy-go-lucky person, she inherited the kaiju soul of Gomora.
- Horn Attack: In the prequel novel, she is shown to be capable of performs the Super Oscillatory Wave.
- The Idiot from Osaka: Complete with her Kansai accent, a love for Osakan food, and a tendency to fight with vendors to get cheap rates. She's also a jokester, spotting Aki as a natural for a Boke and Tsukkomi Routine.
- School Swimsuit: In her kaiju girl form, Mikazuki's body suit is a classic school swimsuit.
- Tail Slap: In her kaiju girl form, she is capable of using her tail as a weapon. However, this doesn't work against Benio in a "Big Kaiju Battle" match.
Sachiko Dori/Zandrias
Born on: April 23
Voiced by: Kaede Yuasa
A stray kajiu girl who is in rebellious age. She inherited the kaiju soul of Zandrias.
She is the first kaiju girl in the anime appearance who went berserk as she went rebellious toward her mother and run away from her home, leading to her causing havoc in the town until Benio knocked her out.
She was later taken in by GIRLS. She also had became an apprentice of Benio and went several, questionable trainings.
- Breath Weapon: In her kaiju girl form, Sachiko can breathe fire.
- The Confidant: Sachiko is the one who knows Benio's liking on cute things, but decided to keep it a secret. Heck, she even help Benio from getting her habit exposed to the capsule girls during the dress room episode in the second novel series.
- Winged Humanoid: Sachiko has a pair of dragon-like wings on her back in her kaiju girl form.
The Shadows
The Shadows are the original monsters introduced in the anime. The creatures with unknown origin, their existences had threaten people and only the Kaiju Girls can defeat them.The Shadows comes in various forms and each of them has various abilities.
- Blob Monster: The basic Shadows are semi-liquid creatures with horns.
- Kaiju: The Shadow Beasts are giant monsters. Their forms are reminiscent of classic kaiju archetypes such as Not Zilla, Giant Flyer, and Big Creepy-Crawlies.
Introduced in The Beginning Stories
Shiina Namekawa/Seabozu
The main point-of-view in chapter 1, Shiina has awokened as a kaiju girl in the middle-school and had left her unable to playing soccer. She inherited the kaiju soul of Seabozu.
A former ace of the woman soccer club in the middle-school, she participate into "Big Kaiju Battles" as a contestant under Meru's suggestion.
Despite the fact that the kaiju Seabozu is a non-fighter, Shiina is capable of fighting and has better reflex, thanks to her history as a former soccer player.
Meru Momochi/Alien Metron
A kaiju girl who is a member of GIRLS, and a counselor of Shiina. She inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Metron.
She is the one who suggest Shiina to participate into "Big Kaiju Battles".
Mio Amagi/Bemular
Mio is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Bemular, and is the first identified kaiju girl prior to the others. She is the main point-of-view in chapter 2.
A private detective who runs her own detective agency "Blue Comet", she is cool-headed. She likes snack foods.
She has Dark and Troubled Past due to her nature as a kaiju girl as she awoken it as a child, and the series of events leds her to distant herself from the others for many years. She finally opened up following a conversation with Makoto after the Mishirushi river incident.
With Makoto's advice, she reveal her identity as what now known as a kaiju girl, to the public, and this helps the establishment of GIRLS.
- Ambiguously Brown: Mio has the brown skin tone, but she's a Japanese girl nonetheless.
- Cool Bike: Owns a customized super bike, which, if the illustrations at the Ultra Monster Anthropomorphic Project expos is to believed, resembles a certain Rider Machine.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Her childhood is not exactly the bright one; Shortly after her mother dies, her father founded a questionable religious organization and had committed various fraud crimes through it. Said father even forced her to act as a living deity until he was arrested after his crime was exposed. Mio is then under the care of the child care facility, until one day that she injures the other children due to her kaiju girl instinct. She is then taken in by her uncle and stays in Ryugamori following the incident and had even since distant herself from the others.
- Wrench Wench: Mio had no trouble fixing anything automobile-related. Justified as her uncle is a car repairman.
Adelina Kaidou/Peguila
An Australian-Japanese half-breed, Adelina is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Peguila. She is the main point-of-view in chapter 3.
An anime otaku, she openly revealed her nature as a kaiju girl to the public, and gains popularity on the net.
With the help of her other kaiju girl friends, she thwarted the evil plan of a eco-terrorist group who had hijacked the plane she is on.
Asami Kunieda/Blitz Blots
A friend of Adelina and fellow kaiju girl, she inherited the kaiju soul of Blitz Blots.
Yurika Hino/Birdon
A kaiju girl who arrived to help Adelina to thwarted the eco-terrorist group's plan. She inherited the kaiju soul of Birdon.
Ran Shibasaki/Guarde
The main point-of-view in chapter 4, Shibasaki is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Guarde.
Similar to Shiina, Shibasaki is a former ace sprinter of the track and field club in the school whose awakening as a kaiju girl has left her unable to participate into world-level sports event and unable to play her favortite sports with normal people anymore. She later participate into the kaiju girl-only sports event, where she went berserk after losing to Kuroyanagi in a sprint match, and later went to training to keep herself under control.
She is a friend and rival to Jun Hiyoshi, who is also her classmate.
Nami Kuroyanagi/Black King
A kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Black King and is a contestant of the kaiju girl-only sports event.
Emiri Nishina/Alien Mefilas
The main point-of-view of chapter 5, Emiri is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Mefilas.
A carrierwoman who is a shop owner and fashion designer of the brand shop "NISHINA", Emiri didn't join GIRLS due to unknown reason.
Most of the time, Emiri is well-mannered, but starts getting excited once she saw the beautiful lady who she think has talent as a fashion model. Emiri is very calm, yet scary when angered, especially toward Karen after finding out the latter's prank on Makoto and Hiromi.
According to Kogami in the second season of the anime, the current form of soulriser was designed by Emiri and Karen after the aforementioned prank incident.
- Tranquil Fury: There is a reason why you shouldn't anger her, as her sister Karen find out the hard way.
Karen Nishina/Alien Mefilas 2nd
The younger sister of Emiri and a university student, Karen is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Mefilas 2nd.
As opposed to her sister's seriousness, Karen use her head in a wrong way and likes to play pranks on people. One day, however, her prank went too far (by kidnapping Hiromi) and was backfired (as the image she send to Makoto had revealed her location to none other than her big sister Emiri) and was beaten up by Emiri as a result.
- Oh, Crap!: Her reaction upon seeing her sister being angry toward her.
Izumi Sawanaka/Alien Pegassa
A kaiju girl who is a researcher at GIRLS and a underling of Makoto. She inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Pegassa.
She is the one who developed the soulriser in the first place. She has a crush on Makoto, and almost went berserk upon seeing Makoto shopping with Hiromi.
Sora Harumi/Skydon
A member of GIRLS and the main point-of-view of chapter 6, Sora is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Skydon.
She went together with Makoto and Clala to save Madoka from the landslide she's in, but was attacked by the shadow beast. She was saved by Shinya and his kaiju girl teammates.
Madoka Shimodate/Mogedon
A member of GIRLS, Madoka is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Mogedon.
She went to the mountain in the rescue mission on her own, but only to get stucked when the landslide blocked her escape route.
Angelica Severitas/Alien Magma
A member of GIRLS and Shinya's teammate, Angelica is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Alien Magma.
Nova (GIRLS)
A member of GIRLS and Shinya's teammate, Nova is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Nova.
Kyrieloid
A member of GIRLS and Shinya's teammate, Kyrieloid is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Kyrieloid.Kana Hoshiedo/Rolan
The main point-of-view of chapter 7, Kana is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Rolan.A normal student in the highschool, her awakening as a kaiju girl (as well as her inherited kaiju soul being Rolan) got the attentions from the school's male students due to her beauty, but also alienates her female friends in the school, mainly due to jealousy. Because of this, she become so autistic that she won't attend to school anymore.
That didn't last long, however, as Shinya and the kaiju girls had talked her out of it.
Makoto Takizawa
A former associate professor at Jonan university, Makoto is a human who works as an advisor of the research department as well as manager of the training department at GIRLS.He and Hiromi were the first who met the first kaiju girl, Mio, during his time as an associate professor.
Although not revealed in the web anime, he did met Aki, Miku and Reika in-person.
Hiromi Yodogawa
Hiromi is a friend of Makoto and a jounarist. She and Makoto were the first to met the first kaiju girl, Mio.Jun Hiyoshi
A human, Jun is one of those who have more than one contact with the kaiju girls.When she was a child, Jun was nearly drown when she accidentally fall into the river, only to be saved by Mio.
Having grown-up, she is in the same class as Shibasaki in the middleschool and is the only one who can talk to her normally.
Fred Greenleave
A US senator. Fred was once unfortunately get on the same plane that was hijacked by the eco-terrorist group and witnessing the kaiju girls' bravery.Since then, he helps Makoto on the establishment of GIRLS. He also provide information to Makoto about the (yet unnamed) group that takes advantage of kaiju girl's easy berserk trait to cause panic among normal people.
Shinya Kinyama
A human, who is a friend of Makoto at university and the member of GIRLS's combat unit.Introduced in season two
Misao Otonashi/Noiseler

Voiced by: Arisa Kiyoto
A member of GIRLS and a teacher of the entertainment class, Misao is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Noiseler.Although she did listen to music of any genre, her favorite genre is rock.
Recently, she formed a rock band with the rebellious Sachiko.
You Kazamaki/Maga-Basser

A newcomer of GIRLS, You is a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of Maga-Basser.
Although she has high potential as a kaiju girl, she is a bit childish.
Yuka Tatunami/Maga-Jappa

Just like You, Yuka is also a newcomer of GIRLS. She inherited the kaiju soul of Maga-Jappa.
A quiet person, Yuka can become nervous so easily and once she start being nervous, she will sweating heavily literally. Because of this, she likes to bathing frequently.note
JJ
Voiced by: Takaya Aoyagi
A human male who is a fan of Clala. He is the first on-screen victim of the being possessed by the Shadow Mist and went on a rampage at Clala's expo, only to be stopped by Miko who has arrived to the scene.
JJ was based on, and named after, Jugglus Juggler from Ultraman Orb, complete with being voiced by Takaya Aoyagi.
Shadow Guts
Voiced by: Satsumi Matsuda
A evil, black-haired duplicate that Miko created unconsciously in her sleep while possessed by the Shadow Mist.She has hatred for the kaiju girls and causes troubles for GIRLS. The duplicate was later freed from the Shadow Mist's influence and joins the fight against Shadow General.
Although her abilities are the same as Miko's, she is much stronger than the latter.
- Evil Twin: Shadow Guts had caused troubles for GIRLS, starting by attack and injure Miku at night. Justified, as she was possessed by the Shadow Mist.
- Teleport Spam: As a duplicate of Miko, Shadow Guts had teleportation ability.
Ms. Dori/Mother Zandrias
Voiced by: Kaede Yuasa
Young and beautiful, Ms. Dori is the mother of Sachiko. Ms. Dori is also a kaiju girl who inherited the kaiju soul of the Mother Zandrias, though she doesn't let her daughter or the GIRLS know about this. note Counting those from the novel series, Ms.Dori is much older than the rest of the kaiju girls.As a kaiju girl, she single-handedly defeated the shadows on her own with no trouble in her debut episode.
- Eye Beams: As a kaiju girl who inherited Mother Zandrias's soul, Ms. Dori has the ability to shoot the eye beams.
- Winged Humanoid: Just like her daughter, Ms. Dori has a pair of dragon-like wings on her back in her kaiju girl form.

A huge, humanoid Shadow born from the fusion of the Shadows and the Shadow Guts's Shadow Mist.She has the ability to summons Shadow Beasts.
