Characters and enemies that appear in Impressive Title.
Appear in Halfblood
Aquanite
A blue lion (or... lynx? panther? Who knows?) that's been running from big cats and shadowy enemies for an indeterminate amount of time. Once cornered in the middle of a forest, she takes one last stand against her pursuers.
- Action Girl: Aquanite is more than capable of putting up a fight against hordes of Living Shadows and a winged big cat that's almost twice her size.
- All There in the Manual: It's impossible to know Aquanite's exact lineage, gender, or even what's on her tail within the game without looking at her character reference sheet on DeviantArt.
- Better to Die than Be Killed: Jumps off a cliff in order to avoid being captured and killed by Natsume.
- Driven to Suicide: See Better to Die than Be Killed above.
- Pursued Protagonist: Spends the majority of the story mode being chased.
- See You in Hell: Her final words to Natsume before taking a plunge into a lake.
- Tracking Device: The black ring on her tail is one of these as explained here.[1]
Natsume
A large, purple, winged feline that's been relentlessly hunting down Aquanite for some time, and thus acts as the main antagonist of story mode.
- Big Bad: Is the one and only boss to be fought in Halfblood.
- Enemy Summoner: Implied to be the one behind the horde of shadowy lions chasing Aquanite.
- Good Wings, Evil Wings: Subverted, since bird wings don't usually represent evil but still represent Natsume's sheer strength and power, and they themselves are used in the fight against Aquanite in the form of a slashing attack.
- Poisonous Person: Manages to poison Aquanite just by touch alone, or at least in the cutscene after the fight.
- Razor Wings: Her wings occasionally slice away at Aquanite during their fight.
Shadow
These are dark shadowy creatures that only appear in singleplayer mode, both in Tutorial Mode and in the Halfblood campaigns. In both modes, they act as Mooks that pose little threat to the player individually, but can be dangerous in large numbers. In Tutorial Mode, they are summoned by Kov to introduce the player to the game's combat system. In Halfblood, they chase down Aquanite until she runs into Natsume, their presumed ring leader.
Players can also make them appear in their own customized story campaigns after reading the Campaign Script Guide included within the game.
- By the Lights of Their Eyes: If they're ever spawned by the player on dark maps, their white eyes and bright teeth tend to give off this effect.
- Everything Fades: While all critters fade away after they drop dead, these guys just fade away as if they were never there at all.
- Living Shadow: If their name and appearance didn't tip you off, their own creator's candid description of them should.Kov: "Lovely, now that you've gotten a hang of the basics, let's add some action. Spawn generic shadowy enemies, please."
- Mooks: Their intended design and purpose. Even KovuLKD calls them "generic, shadowy enemies" both in the Video Game Tutorial and in the Campaign Script Guide.
- Prophet Eyes: They possess milky white eyes to contrast their dark bodies, though their eye color may also just be referencing their supernatural nature.
Appeared in Tutorial
The player character that appears in the game's Tutorial Mode, who teaches the player how to use basic controls and fighting, and acts as the Author Avatar of the game's creator, KovuLKD.
- Author Avatar: Acts as a representative of the game's creator, KovuLKD, and goes by his nickname ("Kov").
- Emoticon: Uses these a lot, preferring to use c: or C| to represent smiles and >:| to represent a (not serious) angry face.
- Expy: He looks like a browner, less-fully-maned version of Kovu from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and his name looks like a shortened version of "Kovu". Not surprising, as KovuLKD is a big fan of The Lion King franchise.
- Speech Bubbles: More like floating blue boxes with yellow text, but close enough as he uses these (along with the chatbox) to communicate to the player.
