Jean/Jeanie
A male fan of I Dream of Jeannie. The first strip sees him discovering a bottle like Jeannie's from the show ( later shown to be because it was the totem of Rouyaa, the genie who inspired Jeannie in the first place). The bottle turned out to be a genie totem, and touching it turned him into a genie himself. His genie appearance came from his mental image of what a genie was- Jeannie. He- or should I say, she- was not happy with this turn of events, especially as her friend Neil became her master.
- Acrophobic Bird: Is afraid of her bottle, because it's been used to trap her.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Jean was a fan of I Dream of Jeannie with genie master fantasies. Which came true- with him/her as the genie.
- Comedic Sociopathy: A good half of his/her characterization.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: As Jeanie.
- Didn't Think This Through: Jeannie's defining character flaw. Several of the comic's plotlines are purely the result of Jeannie impulsively using her magic for something without considering the potential consequences.
- Expy: Of Jeannie.
- Gender Bender: The premise of the comic, and often inflicted on others. It's practically her go-to punishment when people annoy her.
- Grand Theft Me: As a result of meddling with free will to get Melvin a date, her body was indwelled by the spirit of the wish, and Jeanie was reduced to a spirit.
- Manipulative Bastard: Once slept with a girl just so he could get a job at her dad's magazine.
- Mundane Utility: Uses her genie powers for a great deal of normal things.
- Pink Is Feminine: Her genie costume, since it's based on Jeannie's.
Neil
Jean's friend, and, when she turned into a genie, her master. Can be a bit thoughtless, but so far hasn't succumbed to Power Perversion Potential.
- Extreme Doormat: He is a total pushover who barely stands up for himself and won't draw a line no matter how much his selfish "friends" screw him over. In the worst Alternate Timeline, this outright gets him turned into a Sex Slave.
- Nice Guy: He's a very kind genie master, which is the reason he has Jeanie and Araceli fighting over him.
- The Smart Guy: He works as an engineer.
