Altheya Campaign
The Player Characters
Ophelia is a driven, dedicated, and spoiled individual, who lives a very lavish lifestyle after enduring a childhood of sickness. She was given to the House of Blood by her parents to find a cure for her illness.
- Curse That Cures: It's implied that the cure for her illness that the House of Blood gave her was a form of partial vampirism, considering that she's a dhampir.
- Dhampyr: Her player race. So far it's unknown if she was born a dhampir, or was turned into one later on in her life.
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Ophelia is very pale and has dark hair with white streaks. She's also decked out in all dark colors, with liberal uses of the color red everywhere.
- Fish out of Water: She's completely new to the continent that the Dragon Empire is situated in, and is unaware of their cultures and customs. Ophelia personally finds it shocking that labor is generally designated to the living.
- Mirror Character: Ophelia shares some similarities to Auzrah, the character Rhiannon played during the Lightfall: Descent miniseries.
- Both are inexplicably creepy, with morose appearances contrasting their generally sanguine personalities.
- Both have a close association with death. Ophelia is a member of the House of Blood, who believe that one should live life to the fullest, in exchange for servitude in death. Azurah, meanwhile, is a cleric of a God of the Dead, who's duty is to help the recently deceased move on.
- Rank Up: Her initial goal in the Dragon Empire is to defeat a rival, which would help move her up the ranks in the House of Blood.
- Training the Gift of Magic: Ophelia derives her power from her dedication to her studies. What player class this lands her in is currently unknown.
- Turns out she's a barbarian, which makes her a sort of Badass Bookworm.
- Vampires Are Rich: The House of Blood encourages an indulgent approach to life. Since Ophelia is described as spoiled, it's also implied she's quite well-off compared to the others in her party.
Xantheus originally lived a simple life as a farmer, that is until a tempting offer lead him astray and fighting to survive. His goal in the Dragon Empire is to find strong allies that he can trust.
- Blue Blood: Xantheus has some form of nobility within the Dragon Empire.
- Our Dragons Are Different: Our dragonborn are different! Just how humanoid a dragonborn can be seems to vary from person to person in Altheya. Xantheus resembles an elf, but has the scales and tail to prove his draconic heritage.
A fisherman who's already lived a long life, Gruffud has always longed to become an honorable knight, but never had the chance to until recently. He was taken in by an order of knights who cater to older individuals seeking adventure.
- Action Dad: Gruffud is a father, though admittedly not a very good one, and is part of an order of knights.
- Speaks Fluent Animal: Gruffud can cast Speak with Animals, so this is a given.
Daisy is an orphan who has spent her whole life growing up in the village of Goodvine.
- Breaking Old Trends: She's the first main campaign character played by Katie that isn't an elf!
- Friendless Background: Daisy didn't have any friends in Goodvine.
- Lethal Chef: Once tried to continue running her father's bakery, but found that she isn't suited for baking.
- Meaningful Name: Her mother was fond of flowers, which is likely why she was named Daisy.
- Noble Shoplifter: Daisy's florist occupation only makes enough to get her by. She steals when she needs to, and always feels guilty about it. Daisy often plots ways to pay her victims back.
- Token Human: Daisy is the only human in her party.
Coming from a tightly knit village of other Jotnyr, Rowan set out to explore the world. He's intimately in tune with nature, and it is the driving force behind his desire to travel.
- Gentle Giant: Simply put, Rowan loves everybody. Plus, he's half giant.
- In Harmony with Nature: Rowan has the uncanny ability to hear the resonant frequencies of stones and plants around him, "speaking" to them in a way.
