Team Harukana
Haruka Oozora
Voiced by: Kana Yuuki (Japanese), Tia Ballard (English)
- Genki Girl: An energetic person at that.
- Height Angst: Being tall, she finds it hard to find clothes that fit her, and she stands out in a crowd too.
- Ms. Fanservice: Noted to be one, as she gets smacked on her bum ridiculously often. And most girls comment that she's actually sexy... admiration or something more?
Kanata Higa
Voiced by: Saki Miyashita (Japanese), Sarah Wiedenheft (English)
- Ambiguously Gay: Kanata frequently ogles swimsuit-clad girls, and also describes Haruka's backside as sexy.
- Awesomeness by Analysis: With her experience, Kanata is able to accurately predict and assess each of Akari's moves during their one-on-one competition, besting Akari at every turn.
- Older Than They Look: Despite her small height, Kanata is actually the same age as Haruka and everyone else on her team.
- Height Angst: Kanata briefly retiring from beach volleyball stems from being shorter than average; during her previous career in elementary school, she was considered tall enough to play.
Akari Ooshiro
- Voiced by: Chisa Kimura (Japanese), Lindsay Seidel (English)
Team Harukana's manager.
- Embarrassing Nickname: "Shii-chan", from her stint as a local idol, and does not want to bring it up. Once in the sand, however, she gets over it.
- Old Shame: She does not want to bring up her stint as a local idol.
Team Eclair
A pair of American twins currently residing in Japan, and the children of Marissa Thomas, herself a famed player and now a trainer.
- Friendly Rival: To the Harukana pair.
- Like an Old Married Couple: The two bicker constantly, even during games, and Emily has launched volleyballs into Claire's head more than once when Claire reveals something embarrassing about her. Despite this, there is no one each would rather play alongside than each other.
- Sibling Team: The pair are twins.
Claire "Kurea" Thomas
- Voiced by: Atsumi Tanezaki (Japanese), Amber Lee Connors (English)
- Cute Little Fangs: Claire is occasionally depicted with fangs, befitting of her energetic and mischievous character.
- Genki Girl: She's the more energetic member of the duo.
- Flirtatious Smack on the Ass: Does this to Emily whenever they score a point.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Claire is the foolish sibling.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: To Emily's distress.
Emily "Emiri" Thomas
- Voiced by: Rie Suegara (Japanese), Bryn Apprill (English)
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Emily is the responsible sibling.
Marissa Thomas
- Voiced by: Umeka Shoji (Japanese), Jamie Marchi (English)
The Thomas' twins' mother.
- Absurdly Youthful Mother: She is at best in her forties, but she looks at least ten or twenty years younger than her children that she might be mistaken as their older sister instead.
- Drives Like Crazy: It's wonder why she never crashes her Hummer.
- Statuesque Stunner: Marissa is taller than Haruka and is in good shape due to training.
Team Naruaya
An emerging team by Narumi Tooi and Ayasa Tachibana. They are considered to be a force to be reckoned in beach volleyball circles.
Narumi Tooi
- Voiced by: Miyuri Shimabukuro (Japanese), Felecia Angelle (English)
- The Ace: While definitely has some traits, Narumi not only defies this, but insists to Haruka that there are no aces in beach volleyball, only partners.
- Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Dark, long hair? Check. Looks distant and serious compared to the other characters? Check too.
- Shrinking Violet: Us said to be shy, and Ayasa is trying to get Narumi out of this mindset.
Ayasa Tachibana
- Voiced by: Kanae Itō (Japanese), Dani Chambers (English)
Narumi's partner. In contrast to Narumi, she seems to be more outgoing.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Downplayed, but she views her partnership with Narumi as this.
Team Amai
A pair of former indoor volleyball players who want to improve their standings after losing streaks in the former.
Mai Sunagawa
- Voiced by: Riko Koike (Japanese), Apphia Yu (English)
- The Napoleon: She is short but with an aggressive personality.
Ai Tanahara
- Voiced by: Akari Kitou (Japanese), Madeleine Morris (English)
Team Youkan
A sibling team that the Thomas' sisters beat three years ago. They seek to get even against the twins, but encountered Team Harukana instead in the anime.
