Kazuya Saotome

A college guy who winds up with a foot tall cyberdoll as the result of his rival Nambara Kotaro. His many hobby is fixing up a robotic squid named Ikariya, attempting to put A.I. into him.
- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Is this with May, being several times her size. That is, until she becomes back human sized halfway through the series.
- NEET: Subverted. While he does stay inside often and work with computers, Kazuya regularly goes outside to his college classes, has several friends at school, and has socialized with many girls (granted, all of them but Kasumi are cyberdolls, but still).
- Trademark Favorite Food: Kazuya likes to drink a specific brand of milk.
- Unknown Rival: to Nanbara.
Kasumi Tani
Voice Actors: Mikako Takahashi (Japanese), Michelle Ruff (English)

- Cool Big Sis: To Rena, and early in the series to May as well.
- Ms. Fanservice: Most of her screentime is spent around Kazuki, and she tends to spend a lot of it trying to get him interested in her by wearing rather skimpy clothing.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: the Tomboy to Mei's Girly Girl.
- Token Human: Among the female cast, she's the only major human, and one of only three humans in the main cast in general.
- Unlucky Childhood Friend
Kotaro Nanbara
Voice Actors: Yuji Ueda (Japanese), Bob Marx (English)
Kazuya's self-appointed arch-rival/"best friend". He's the one who gets him mixed up with the Cyberdolls in the first place, when he gives him a program that hacks his machine and causes him to have May delivered to Kazuya's apartment.- Casanova Wannabe
- Expy: Of Jinnai from El-Hazard: The Magnificent World, even down to his English dub voice.
- Friendly Enemy: Self-proclaimed "best friend and worst enemy" of Kazuya.
- Large Ham: Big-time. Nearly every line of dialogue he says in the series is exaggerated to a large degree.
- Small Name, Big Ego: Subverted. He actually is very good at the things he does, but people don't like him.
Cyberdolls
May
Voice Actors: Maria Yamamoto (Japanese), Lia Sargent (English)
A 1/6 scale cyberdoll who comes to live with Kazuya. She's kind, devoted, and sweet to him and others.

- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Is this with Kazuya, being only a fifth or so his size. That is, until she becomes back human sized halfway through the series.
- Nice Girl: Super sweet girl who willingly cleans and cooks for Kazuya. She's also polite to everyone she meets, too.
- Protagonist Title: The anime is named after her.
- Robot Maid: Classifies as this, despite her very human looking appearance.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: the Girly Girl to Kasumi's tomboy.
Sara
Voice Actors: Kyoko Hikami (Japanese), Wendee Lee (English)
A cyberdoll who previously delivered May to Kazuya Saotome, but is now tasked with reclaiming her from him for his nonpayment. She would team up with Kotaro Nanbara.
- Shout-Out: Her name, as well as her working for Cyberdyne, is a reference to Sarah Connor.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Despite being a cyberdoll, Sara really enjoys ramen.
Rena
Voice Actors: Rie Kugimiya (Japanese), Rebecca Forstadt (English)
A young cyberdoll who tries to bring back May. She soon gives up and lives at the Kasumi house with Kasumi.
- Bratty Halfpint: Initially. She mellows out as the series goes on.
- Cuteness Proximity: She absolutely adores Ikariya, and is often seen hugging him throughout the series.
- Third-Person Person
- Token Mini-Moe: May might be smaller in size, but in terms of age, Rena serves as this among the main cast.
- Tsundere: Though not as much as some of Rie Kugimiya's other roles.
Kei
Voice Actors: Minami Omi (Japanese), Bridget Hoffman (English)
- Improbably High I.Q.: Is said to have an IQ of 50,000 in human terms.
- Smart People Wear Glasses
Mami
Voice Actors: Kikuko Inoue (Japanese), Dorothy Elias-Fahn (English)
- Cute Little Fang
- Gratuitous Japanese: The English subtitles translate Cyberdoll Mami's Gratuitous English into Gratuitous Japanese; the dub averts this trope.
- Rollerblade Good: Her rollerblades even have rockets built in!
- Verbal Tic: Mami says "Ara Ara Ara" ("Oh my my!" in the dubbed version) quite frequently.
- Yamato Nadeshiko: Mami was created with this idea in mind; she's a domestic genius who wears a kimono (and she's voiced by Kikuko Inoue), but in a variation she has american traits and can skate up walls.
