Lore

Aurora is the first person the Dreamer met after arriving in Phantasia, a meeting that set them both on their quest to reclaim the realms from the Dreamless and their corrupted Dominions.

An apparently beautiful and mysterious young lady, Aurora is in actuality the personified embodiment – some might even say the 'soul' – of the Dreamstone: an extremely powerful and ancient artefact intrinsically tied to the very existence of Phantasia.

No one knows when she arrived in Phantasia, or where she came from, but Aurora has watched over the world for millennia, guiding its leaders and aiding its peoples, helping to protect them when needed and retreating to her Clouded Tower when not.

Since the Dreamless Nether began to devour Phantasia and its Dreamless minions invaded the realms, Aurora has been striving to find a way to drive off this existential threat. The situation grows ever more dire, however, and it isn't yet clear to what lengths she will go in order to save her beloved Phantasia...

Traits:

Heart Dominion
Gains +3% ATK for each fielded ally of the Fire element. Determined at the start of each wave.

Lore

The Queen of Hearts is the Dominion ruler of Wonderland. Before she became corrupted by the Dreamless Nether and lost her mind, she was quite headstrong, proud and extremely volatile. Supporters and detractors alike were equally in danger of losing their heads should they displease the queen and harsh punishments were meted out at her order to those committing the most minor of infractions.

After she fell to the Dreamless Nether, her power swelled even as her mind fled. Now, she sits upon her bloody throne in a realm emptied of all its free thinking peoples and instead filled with the blasted remnants of her populace that have fallen to the Dreamless Nether and become Dreamless themselves.

  • One-Winged Angel: She turns into a tall, eyeless dark-skinned version of herself and is fought at the end of Chapter 3.

In fact, she outsmarted, defeated and deposed the former Dominion of her realm and took his place on the imperial throne.

Crafty, artful and sly, Tamamo outwits and outmaneuvers her enemies, utterly confusing and disorienting them, before finishing them with the speed, ferocity and elegance of a wild fox.

Lore

For every fairytale princess striving against the odds to win the affections of her prince, there is an evil witch queen trying to deny her that goal. This Queen in particular has a grudge against Snow White, believing her to be a challenge to her own perception of beauty. Because of this, the Queen has attempted over many years to bring Snow White down, by use of poisoned apples, combs and even more direct attempts at assassination.

Though every attempt has failed, and even in the face of the destruction of Phantasia, she continues to scheme against the poor princess, though Snow White herself bears little malice and barely even a thought about the vengeful queen. What would happen if these two ever actually met is a point of much debate among those who have known both at any time, but as Snow White has herself become incredibly powerful over the years, the resulting clash could be quite dangerous.

Lore

The former ruler of a realm which has fallen beyond the boundaries of Phantasia, to be consumed by the Dreamless Nether, Princess Ozma is royalty without a kingdom left to govern. Her realm of Oz and the majority of its peoples are gone, apparently never to return. This alone is a source of great pain and sadness to the princess, but adding to that is the personal tragedy that she was stolen away from her family as an infant and magically transformed into a boy, in order to deny her ascension to the throne.

Ozma never knew her parents, and had only been princess of Oz for a short time before the emerald land was again taken away from her by the Dreamless Nether. And yet, she remains a gentle and kind, if often melancholic, soul. With her realm gone, she is a princess in name only, with no one to rule. Instead, she has spent her years travelling across Phantasia, attempting to help those dispossessed by the Dreamless to this day.

Frostbite
All enemies take 10% DMG per second while Winter Queen is fielded.

Lore

The Winter Queen is the Dominion of the Realm of Everlasting Winter, she was once a powerful witch who could control ice and snow, making it do her bidding.

She was one of the first Dominion's of the remaining realms of Phantasia to be affected by the Dreamless Nether and so she has been the most affected by its mind-deteriorating power over time.

She wanders the frozen halls of her ice palace, forgetful of almost everything other than that she is under attack from an outside source and so will attack any who venture into her domain, be they friend or foe.

Her magic is powerful enough to turn her enemies to statues of ice and her palace is littered with once living breathing creatures, now frozen at the terrified moment of meeting the Winter Queen face to face.

  • One-Winged Angel: She transforms into a taller, blue-skinned version of herself and serves as the end boss of Chapter 10.

    Tinker Bell

Companion
Tinker Bell will follow closely behind the ally directly in front of her. She can attack while flying.

Lore

The diminutive companion to the boy who never grows up, Tinker Bell is a fairy who just wants to be believed in. She has a love of fixing things and a soft spot for Peter that she can't always hide. Her greatest fear is that she will be forgotten, because if that happens she will fade away, never to return. As such, she is terrified of the Dreamless Nether, as she sees it as the embodiment of her darkest nightmare – the complete loss of herself with no one to remember her once she is gone. Otherwise, Tinker Bell is an upbeat, energetic girl, forthright in her opinions and staunch in her support of Peter and her other friends. She has a one-sided rivalry with another individual, though she would never vocalize aloud either the reason for that rivalry, or indeed acknowledge who that individual is. Despite her occasionally blunt and combative nature, she is a warm-hearted and fun-loving person, ready to go on an adventure at a moment's notice should those whom she loves come calling.

Lore

Once a helper in Santa's workshop, the Krampus is now a bitter and mischievous character who has dedicated herself to ruining Christmas for everyone. Nobody knows exactly what Krampus is: some kind of demon supernaturally tied to Christmas? An elf corrupted by the dark powers, twisted, ruined and perfected as the embodiment of anti-Christmas? A cutely weird emo girl who has super-glued horns to the sides of her head? Who knows?

Santa knows, which is probably why he hired, and then subsequently fired, the wayward Krampus. Tasked with giving coal to the naughty children of Phantasia, Krampus soon tired of her job, becoming overzealous with her coal giving and annoyed by the festive cheer she saw everywhere, no matter how much coal she gave out. Now she just wants Christmas to finish for good and will do whatever it takes to realize that goal.

While they may not look like much, in great enough numbers, they can overwhelm any opponent.

As a young child, Geppetto was a very lonely boy, an orphan in a town with a dwindling population. He turned to puppet making as a way to stave off his loneliness.

As he grew, his skill increased and his puppets became more life-like. Geppetto's ultimate aim is to create a puppet with intelligence indistinguishable from a human. It may be that that day comes sooner rather than later.

Now that she is a spirit, she wanders the world, searching for others whom she can warm with her little lights. And she hopes to at last have someone dear to her who knows her by her real name: Clara.

  • Evil Knockoff: The Guardian Pyromancer, among many other copycats fought in Chapter 13.

    Mad Hatter

Lore

Hatter is famed throughout the realm as the greatest and most dramatic maker of hats in all of Wonderland.

His dramatic sense of style translates into his overall demeanor and he is prone to bouts of hyperactivity and moments of deep melancholy at turns.

While it is his companion that is an actual hare, Hatter is the one who comes up with the most hare-brained schemes to pitch the Dreamer into.

His fondness of tea is legendary and he has an intense dislike of the Queen of Hearts, mainly due to her own dislike of unlicensed tea parties.

The Hatter has the aspect of a crow and shares the bird's cleverness and resourcefulness, as well as an air of unknowable creative intelligence.

    Morgana
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/character_outline_morgana_min.png
Morgana

Rarity: ★★★★
Class: Mage
Element: Water

Abilities:

Traits:

AoE Damage
Basic attacks deal DMG in a small area.
Arcane Knowledge
All Mage class allies in the same row as Morgana gain +8% ATK.

Lore

Morgana, also known as Morgan Le Fay, is the very epitome of the archetypal 'dark sorceress'. You might even say she was the original. A powerful enchantress from the earliest histories of Phantasia, Morgana's rivalry with the chivalrous King Arthur was, and still is to this day, the stuff of Phantasian legend.

While her motives are questionable, and often hidden by layer upon layer of schemes, plots and subterfuge, her intelligence, wit and knowledge cannot be called into doubt. Morgana was undeniably one of the most powerful magicians in Phantasia during her lifetime... and now she has returned, she seems set on reclaiming that position and status - something the Dreamer may yet discover... at great cost!

    Saffi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/character_outline_saffii.png
Saffi

Rarity: ★★★★
Class: Mage
Element: Water

Abilities:

Frost Ray / Active [Lv 1]
Saffi summons a giant freezing beam, dealing 180% Damage in a small AoE. Enemies with the Frost debuff will be Frozen.
Knowledge Is Power / Passive [Lv 1]
Every 7 hits, Saffi grants all allies 80% Cooldown Reduction for 10 seconds.

Traits:

AoE Damage
Basic attacks deal DMG in a small area.
Frost Strike
Basic attacks inflict Frost (-15% MOVSPD and -15% ATKSPD) for 6 sec.

Lore

Saffi, the World Stone known as the Mindstone, is by far the most studious and knowledgeable of the World Stone sisters. She is also far more meticulous and ordered than the other World Stones, preferring to look at all things logically and consider the implications of the group's decisions seriously before taking action.

She likes things to be ordered and seeks to reduce complexity in all things, but because of this, Saffi is often unprepared to deal with sudden or unbridled emotions - both in others and within herself, too.

She can become flustered or angry when events don't play out as she had expected, and even lash out at those around her should her meticulously constructed world start to fray and come apart. Nevertheless, she is a sponge for knowledge and experience and is rarely unseated by the same situation twice.

With her bookish look and youthful complexion, Saffi appears to have the body of a young lady, however, as with all of her sisters, she is actually a great deal older than that. Even she isn't sure just how old.

    White Rabbit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/character_outline_whiterabbit_min.png
White Rabbit

Rarity: ★★★★
Class: Mage
Element: Water

Abilities:

Time Warp / Active [Lv 1]
White Rabbit speeds up time, granting all allies 25% Energy and reducing ability cooldown over 5 seconds.
Follow Me! / Passive [Lv 1]
Every 4 hits, White Rabbit will teleport to the weakest ally and grants them Haste (+25% ATKSPD) for 10 sec.

Traits:

AoE Damage
Basic attacks deal DMG in a small area.

Lore

Not much is known about this mysterious individual, other than that she lives in the realm of Wonderland. How she has survived for so long in a land infested with Dreamless is unknown, but it possibly has to do with her obsession with time.

The White Rabbit is an apparently gentle soul, softly spoken and quick to take flight. However, she is undeniably powerful, though quite how this can be is a matter for much debate. As with many of her associates in Wonderland, the White Rabbit seems to know much more about the Dreamer and Phantasia as a whole than she lets on – though, to be fair, she doesn't let on much!

    Lily
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/character_outline_lily.png
Lily

Rarity: ★★★★
Class: Mage
Element: Light

Abilities:

Promotion / Active [Lv 1]
All allied Pawns on the field receive a shield of 50% of Lily's HP and a +30% ATK buff for 15 seconds.
Summon Pawn / Passive [Lv 1]
Every 2 hits, summon a Pawn with 50% of Lily's HP, ATK, and DEF.(Max 8 per wave).

Traits:

En Passant
Lily has the target behavior of an Assassin
AoE Damage
Basic attacks deal DMG in a small area.

Lore

The first individual the Dreamer encounters in the Wonderland labyrinth, Lily is the shy daughter of the White Queen. After her royal house fell to the Queen of Hearts, she was sealed away by a powerful spell along with her family for many years. After breaking free, she now roams the near endless labyrinth seeking to find a way to free her family and break the magic seal once and for all. She loves flowers and harnesses her magic to summon pawn shaped golems to help her tend the gardens.

    Sugar Plum Fairy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/character_outline_sugarplumfairy_min.png
some caption text
Sugar Plum Fairy

Rarity: ★★★★★
Class: Mage

Sugar Crash / Passive [Lv 1]
Every 3 hits, sweets fall upon a random enemy dealing 250% DMG in a small area. Targets have -15% ATK SPD for 4 seconds.

Traits:

AoE Damage
Basic attacks deal DMG in a small area.
Summon Fairy
Summons a Magical Fairy with 50% of Sugar Plum Fairy's HP, ATK, and DEF at the start of each wave.

Lore

Sugar Plum Fairy is the ruler of a hidden fairy kingdom within the Realm of Eternal Winter. Dedicated to everything sweet and delicious, there are rumors that her kingdom is where the idea of sweets and desserts originally came from. Whether that is true or not, it can be said without doubt that Sugar Plum's knowledge and love of delicious treats is second to none.

What is more, she is a powerful spellcaster, powerful enough to keep her kingdom safe, even when the rest of the realm descended into the deep freeze after the coming of the Dreamless. That is, in large part, due to her ability to keep her kingdom hidden, though even that power has begun to falter recently, so the skills of individuals such as Nutcracker are needed to ensure its safety into the future.

    Nyx

3-Stars

    Gretel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/character_outline_gretel_min.png

Gretal increases her own ATK by 20% for 15 sec.

Traits:

AoE Damage
Basic attacks deal DMG in a small area.
Twin’s Devotion
Gains +20% ATK if Hansel is on your side of the field.

Lore

Gretel is a spirit haunting the forests that surround Haven, along with her brother, Hansel.

In life, she was a witch hunter who met her end at the hands of one of her quarries. Her strong spirit caused her essence to remain and she woke up alongside her brother in the forest where she and Hansel had been killed. Together, they swore to find and destroy the witch that had defeated them.

Unfortunately, the witch was still too strong for them and Gretel was trapped in the very forests in which she used to hunt. Many decades and several unsuccessful attempts to defeat the witch have since caused her to go a bit... kooky.

Gretel fights with a huge and grisly scythe made in part from one of her previous targets. It may look unwieldy, but she handles it with a skill born of long decades of familiarity. Try to stay on her good side.
