Main Trio

    In General

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ghostforce_transformation_020_1.png
Ghostforce!
  • Big Brother Instinct: Andy and Liv both have this for Mike and Andy very vividly demonstrates this trope towards Liv; Liv, for her part, has a pretty big Little Sister Instinct and is fiercely protective of Andy.
  • Bond Creatures: It's not elaborated upon yet but they each have a tamed ghost in a capsule that gives them their respective powersets. They can release this ghost to put into boost mode so as to access a special super move.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Andy/Fury is green, Liv/Myst is pink, Mike/Krush is blue, and Glowboo is orange.
  • Color-Coded Secret Identity: Andy, Liv and Mike all dress in color schemes that are heavily reminiscent of their hero costumes.
  • Hour of Power: A recurring problem is how they each have a limited supply of Boo Energy that forces them to use their special abilities conservatively.
  • Limit Break: They each have a special super move that at least one member uses once per episode to knock a ghost out of Boost Mode for capture.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: One of the male co-leads, Mike, has electric blue highlights on his outfit, while the female co-lead Liv has pink ones instead.

    Andy Baker/Fury

Voiced by: Jordan Quisno

  • Brother–Sister Team: Andy and Liv are siblings and work in the same team.
  • Ectoplasm: Fury's powers are about using ectoplasm or something slimey to bind rogue ghosts or shield himself and his friends.
  • Expy: He takes after Adrien Argeste's Cat Noir alter ego in personality, along with his hero form's color scheme and preferred weapon, with Lê Chiến Kim's competitive nature and love for sports.
  • Idiot Hero: Andy is a surprisingly straight example as not only is he usually a goofball but in battle, tends to recklessly charge in while Mike and Liv are the ones who strategize.
  • Held Back in School: The reason Andy is in the same grade as Liv despite being older is because he failed the previous year and therefore couldn't move up a grade.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Andy is easily the most flawed of the trio and prone to creating or starting problems from his laziness, arrogance, or not thinking things through, but he's a good kid deep down and he will always make right in the end or help his friends (as an example, saving Mike's bacon from a serious case of The Masquerade Will Kill Your Dating Life by filming a fight that Mike had to bail on a day out with Charlie for and letting Mike come off as the one who got some really good footage).
  • Kiddie Kid: Slight example. While he's the oldest, he's still happy to play with action figures.

    Mike Collins/Krush

Voiced by: Ogie Banks

  • An Ice Person: Krush's unique power, 'Fractal' is cryokinesis, which can be used either to grow ice structures or fire ice bolts from his hands.
  • Decomposite Character: He has Marinette Dupain-Chang's knack for complex plans.
  • Expy: He is a nerd like Max and has a crush on a girl who blogs the heroes' exploits like Nino.
  • Jock Dad, Nerd Son: The son to a famous basketball playing father, which is often a source of stress for Mike who feels like his father doesn't really understand him, though it's clear his father loves him the way he is and one episode even features his father outright stating "I love you Just the Way You Are".
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Mike is the science, computer and gadget nerd son of a famous basketball player.
  • Not So Above It All: Mike is usually more focused and serious than Andy, but if something throws him off he can often be more reckless than Andy.

    Liv Baker/Myst

  • Cuteness Proximity: It's common for Liv to coo over enemy ghosts' Sleep-Mode Size forms and talk about looking forward to trying to domesticate them; she's even done this with certain boosted forms, calling them "still cute. Evil but cute."
  • Decomposite Character: She has Marinette Dupain-Chang's level-headed nature.
  • Hidden Depths: She's shown to value being a hero more than her fellow members of Ghostforce and seems to treat it as a major part of her identity and sense of self worth, to a point she becomes worried about Glowboo replacing them after he gets a major upgrade. Neither Andy or Mike were worried about such things.
  • Not So Above It All: She's not as far from her brother's immaturity as she likes to think she is.
  • Perky Goth: Downplayed. She wears dark clothing with pink highlights, and is rarely in a bad or depressed mood.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To Juleka, both a dressed in goth clothing. But Juleka is shy while Liv is not.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Her primary weapon of choice is a 'spectral bow' that fires arrows of ghost energy at her targets.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Myst's unique power is spectral gate.

Allies

    Miss Jones
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/background12bb1c7e_3.png
Voiced by: Tara Sands

  • Depending on the Writer: Sometimes Miss Jones doesn't like rock music, and sometimes she jams to it when alone.
  • Eccentric Mentor: Miss Jones knows what she is doing, but she is also very goofy and eccentric.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She creates, upkeeps, and operates the technology used by the Ghost Force. While she didn't create some of the tech, such as Glowboo, she is constantly creating tools for the Ghost Force to use in battle.
  • Mundane Utility: She is not above using the advanced robot Glowboo to rub her feet or assist her in mundane tasks, which tends to delay his deployment.
  • Retired Badass: It's frequently noted that Miss Jones caught many (not all) of the ghosts that Ghost Force has in her own time, though she's support nowadays. This is not due to age as much as, seemingly, whatever caused parts of her body to be made of Boo Energy pushing her into early retirement.
  • Suddenly Shouting: Due to the chaotic nature of the ghost she's hybridized with, she tends to ham up her sentences at random and then go back to speaking normally.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To Master Fu, both mentor figures to the protagonist with a supernatural being for a companion. But Master Fu is eldery while Miss Jones maintains her youthful appearance.
  • Vague Age: While she's over 21, as that is when she had her first date, it's a bit hard to tell how old she is. Her mixture of eccentricities both point to a younger age (such as her sense of humor and her interest in yoga exercises) and an older age (she dislikes loud rock music, sometimes, and has Glowboo rub her feet). While official media has her having retired due to old age, it seems to be somewhat misleading as her retirement seems more a result of her injuries than a lack of fitness from advance age.

    Glups
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miss_jones_square.png
  • Friendly Ghost: It is one of the few tamed ghosts and Miss Jones' long-time companion.

    Glowboo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/background12bb1c7e_8.png
  • Iron Butt Monkey: If anything is to go wrong to a Ghostforce member, or a situation happens that's silly, like being whacked particularly hard or left to babysit, Glowboo takes the role. Being a robot, he may literally be made of iron.
  • The Power of the Sun: Glowboo's signature energy, Solar Boo, can be utilized for attacks and distractions.

    Dragoyle

    Growmax

    Octocat

NYC School Characters

    Drake Miller
Voiced by: Nick Hudson Murdoch

  • Corrupted Character Copy: Of Lê Chiến Kim.
  • Decomposite Character: He has Chloé Bourgeois's role as a thorn in the heroes' side.
  • Jerk Jock: Basketball player with a tendency to provoke, tease or make fun of all his classmates, but more generally Andy and Mike (the former being his rival, the latter for being the youngest and a nerd.
  • Jerkass to One: Crueler towards Andy and Mike, and somewhat inverted for Bobby, who he bosses around but does care about.
  • Rich Jerk: "Piraniak" has him get the brand new Powergold phone from his parents in spite of it being extremely expensive and hard to get, implying while he doesn't have his way as much as Chloé, his family seems wealthy enough.
  • Pet the Dog: Upon realizing that Bobby vandalized the town to make him happy, he immediately decided to take the blame once Myst shows up to apprehend them, which she notes to be wrong, but still a nice proof of friendship.

    Bobby
Voiced by:

  • Big Guy: Easily the biggest student in his class.
  • Didn't Think This Through: When Drake kept expressing his wish to have his face all over New York, Bobby decided to skip school and spraypaint his best friend's portrait everywhere. He didn't account for the fact it was illegal, especially in places such as the Kasenti tower, and almost got Drake and Liv in trouble with the police because of it.
  • Expy: He takes after Ivan Bruel as the largest student of his class and fills Sabrina Raincomprix's role as the mean kid's sidekick.

    Charlie
Voiced by:

  • Expy: Of Lois Lane.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To Alya Césaire, both are big fans of the protagonists' hero identities who frequently film and blog about the heroes' exploits. But Alya is Martiniquan Creole-French and learned one of the protagonist's identities while Charlie is Asian-American and still in the dark.

    Stacy
Voiced by: Tara Sands

  • Alpha Bitch: Heavily downplayed. She's not all that dislikable (especially not compared to Chloé) and doesn't seem all too particularly popular as the trope usually goes, but she does have a mean streak whenever Andy or his friends don't let her have her way. The only person she's unconditionally nice to is her sister, and she can sometimes show amusement or gratitude for the main trio's antics.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag : Wears her hair in a ponytail.
  • Single-Minded Twins: Downplayed. Andy sees Jane and Stacy as this. While they are very much in sync with the other and often have similar goals, they aren't as similar at a glance, though Jane keeps some of her own interests secret from Stacy who prefers the two of them to be more similar than different.
  • Virtuous Character Copy: Of Chloé Bourgeois, being a fan of the heroes despite annoying their civilian identities, but is far less aggravating and none of Chloé's irredeemable qualities.

    Jane
Voiced by: Tara Sands

  • Identical Twin ID Tag : Wears her hair loose.
  • Expy: She takes after Zoé Lee as an Alpha Bitch's sister with Hidden Depths and fills Sabrina Raincomprix's role as the said sister's sidekick.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: With a dash of Hidden Heart of Gold, while she can be just as abrasive as Stacy, she shows genuine appreciation for Liv when they find out they have things in common, even if she denies it in front of their teacher and her sister.
  • Hidden Depths: She has a passion for modern science art.

Other Characters

    Officer Callinghan
Voiced by:

  • Corrupted Character Copy: Of Roger Raincomprix, both being ineffectual police officers that are out of their league. But while Roger is a well-meaning bumbler who helps Ladybug and Cat Noir on occasion, Callinghan has delusions of grandeur and is less helpful to the Ghost Force.

Wild Ghosts

    In General

  • Emotion Eater: Some ghosts father their strength for Booster Mode by terrorizing humans.
  • Power-Up Food: Certain ghosts enter Booster Mode from bonding with foods or items (referred to as "receptacles") they've eaten.
  • Sleep-Mode Size: Ghosts start off in tiny, cute but impish forms that cause chaos until they gather enough strength to enter "Booster Mode", which transforms them into a much stronger form capable of projecting their powers on a larger scale.
  • You Can't Thwart Stage One: When left for too long, ghosts can boost to a more powerful form, which is why it's recommended for the Ghost Force to capture them before that happens.
