Del Frye
Alter Ego: Delbert John "Del" Frye
First Appearance: Immortal Hulk Vol 1 #2 (September, 2018)
A popular small-town football player, who after being pressured by his father into taking an experimental serum he had created based on Gamma radiation, seemingly died. When his still radioactive body started poisoning mourners, The Hulk discovered that Del was still alive, alerting the authorities in the process, with Del being taken by Shadow Base for research into Gamma mutation.
- Adaptational Heroism: His namesake in the 1970s TV series was a sinister old man who relished transforming his gamma-powered, monstrous inner self. Here, he's younger and much more heroic.
- Age Lift: Del Frye in the TV series was an old man. Here, he was a teenager when his father first dosed him with gamma rays.
- And I Must Scream: He was trapped reliving a never-ending loop of his death. Then he was possessed by the Leader, getting his body deformed and fused with Rick Jones in the process.
- Aura Vision: His Gamma mutation is he sees spooky things.
- Body Horror: Unlike his namesake in the live-action series, this Del Frye doesn't have the luxury of just turning into a Hulk. He and Rick Jones end up fused in a highly deformed body, with his body always glowing green while Rick's body looks like an appendage. Charlene manages to ease their pain and allow them to speak while she tries to find a way to separate them. At the end of Gamma Flight, they are separated once more, even if he's still mutated.
- Canon Immigrant: In the TV series, Frye was the only other Hulk that Banner encountered, a lab assistant who'd been experimented on by the scientist he was working for. The comic version is a much younger man, dosed with gamma radiation by his own father, and displays some Adaptational Heroism when not under the Leader's control.
- Grand Theft Me: Possessed by The Leader, although enough of his will is gone that he doesn't object.
- Nice Guy: Given the circumstances he went through, he'd be forgiven for being a bit more sour, but he's pretty mellow.
- Sanity Strengthening: Apparently having gone insane from his time dying and reviving, his time with Rick actually seems to be a step up.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Is separated from Rick Jones at the end of the Gamma Flight series.
Stockpile
Alter Ego: Dionne Fortean
First Appearance: Gamma Flight #1 (June, 2021)
A former U.S. Army sergeant experimented on and turned into a gamma mutate by Project Green Spring.
- Body Horror: Stockpile's powers make her a being of living mud. And not like Sandman, who still looks human when powered up.
- Foil: Gamma Flight shows her as one for Skaar.
- The Assimilator: Her powers allow her to absorb objects into her body and process them into the same mud-like substance as the rest of her body.
- "Well Done, Daughter!" Gal: Her father was an insane, demanding perfectionist, which is a good part of the reason Dionne has turned out the way she has. Abomination manipulating this is how she wound up as Stockpile.
- Your Son All Along: Stockpile is revealed to be General Fortean's daughter.
