The Kobukarappa family
In general
- Dishing Out Dirt: Both members of the species are excellent diggers and burrowers.
- Making a Splash: The Kobukarappa species can mainly be found in saltwater habitats.
- Sea Monster: This kaiju species spends much of their lives underwater and spends part of it on land.

- Adaptational Heroism: One of them teams up with Gamera to defeat Garasharp.
Futakobukarappa
The Garasharps
In general
- Dishing Out Dirt: The Garasharp are excellent burrowers, and can tunnel underground at fast speeds.
- The Great Serpent: Garasharp are known to be the largest kaiju species to date.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Crossed with Greater-Scope Villain, as several of them have attacked Atlantis in the past, which led to the Atlanteans creating the Gyaos and eventually Jiger, Gamera, Monga, Bakoro, and Iris.
- Snakes Are Sinister: Subverted, as the Garasharp are merely a kaiju species driven by pure instinct rather than malice. If anything, they were only trying to survive.

- Berserk Button: The male Garasharp is clearly pissed off at Gamera for "killing" his family. Little did he know...
- Heel Realization: Once Gamera brings the male Garasharp to Wester Island, he realizes Gamera didn't kill his family as he had mistakenly assumed.
