Sparil's Bane

    Sora Erron
The primary protagonist of Game of the Gods and the Guild Master of Sparil's Bane.
  • All Your Powers Combined: What makes him special in the Game of the Gods. His ability to not only form his own Aspects, but receive more than three from other Gods is unprecedented.
  • Barrier Warrior: Ulva's Aspect of Protection grants him this.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Even before he begins gaining Aspects, he's capable of facing off against higher level Avatars. Gaining Aspects from the use of Divinity and through other Gods makes him more effective in and out of combat.
  • Healing Hands: Is capable of healing any injury, including recent death, through Fria's Aspect of Healing. The Aspect of Determination likewise grants him this ability.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite Fox's Answer erasing his Human life from existence, Sora still ends up on Earth, with the same family he grew up with, in the same city, and creating the Sparil's Bane Guild.
  • Jack of All Stats: Classes on Illirya being modular, Sora doesn't focus on overpowering attacks or debilitating status effects and can take any role required of him in any Party he's a part of.
  • Meaningful Name: Sora's name means 'Sky'. His later name, 'Granir', means 'The Blue of the Sky'. Played for Laughs with his last name 'Erron', which doesn't mean anything due to being made up by his father, but still translating to potato, cheese, erotic, and hamster In-Universe.
  • Noble Wolf: Chooses the Ulvan Race when he joins. After learning Fox's Answer, his existence as a Human is Ret-Gone, thus making him Ulvan from the start.
  • The Cynic: Starts the story out as this, with the prologue starting with his summation of current events.
  • The Strategist: His Class is Fateweaver, which manifests as an RTS-style map that allows him to directly buff allies and direct them without command. After unlocking the full power of the Aspect of Influence, he can even move enemies into more favorable positions for himself.
  • Training from Hell: Undergoes this after nearly killing an Avatar for insulting James.

    Kumo Kairosu Hayashi
One of the founders of Sparil's Bane and one of Sora's closest friends and greatest allies. A Felid Assassin, he aids Sora from the shadows.—-
  • A God Am I: Kumo is a God reborn into a Mortal body, who later regains his Godhood during Arc 2.
  • Catchphrase: 'Wagahai wa Neko de aru-nyā.' A phrase often spoken by Kumo in allusion to his favorite childhood story, I Am a Cat.
  • Eldritch Abomination: As Kima, he is described as being ancient by Wolf. His Aspects of being 'an opportune moment,a swimmer of time's rivers, a keeper of hearts' are notably more abstract than most other Gods' Aspects.
  • Humanoid Abomination: As Kima, he is described as 'a starry night' vaguely resembling a Felid.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: Justified as he was born in Japan and raised by his grandfather Itsuki.
  • Kuji-In: As an onmyōji,Kumo is capable of using this in lieu of Crysts and Divinity.
  • Meaningful Name: Kumo, which can translate to 'Cloud' or 'Spider', reflecting his friendship with Sora and his role as an Assassin. His middle name, 'Kairosu', which is derived from the Greek 'Kairos', means 'An opportune moment in time'. This reflects his ability to travel through time during Arc Two.
  • Verbal Tic: Any time he speaks Japanese, he will end it with 'nyā'. Justified as being a Felid, he instinctively meows when not speaking Vandaan or English.
