The Approach
Alive...for now.- Cruel Mercy: He's direct about it, after Case 2. "You're not a bad guy, Eric. I don't care what the others think, you're not - or you wouldn't be this bothered. Which means the worst for you is having to live with it. And live knowing we could punish you. Probably should... but didn't."

- Older Than They Look: Thanatos is a very healthy-looking sixty-eight-year-old. Might be a case of Animation Anatomy Aging, but....
Ambrosine
The Circuit
An immortal lich who made it to the survivor pool.- Only One Name
- Original Character: As most DnD characters are.
- The Archmage: Was capable of casting ninth-level spells (the most powerful level in her canon) before arriving, and had a fairly thick spellbook that was acquired via the Rotator. Later, she managed to get some of its power back, using it to great effect when she assisted in the deaths of both of the Stewards.
- Lady of Black Magic
- Lawful Neutral: As a D&D character, per Word of God.
- Thinking Up Portals: Her power allows her to create wormholes between locations.
- Our Liches Are Different: Has some sort of magic keeping her looking mostly alive, but revealed this to Eric during Week 2.
- Vain Sorceress: Is both extremely skilled in magic and extremely obsessed with her personal appearance.
- Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Describes this as "one of her few scruples" in the first trial.
Osomatsu Matsuno
The Enemy
Alive...for now.- Drowning My Sorrows: The only reason he doesn't get drunk after Franciscus dies is because he's already experienced a painful hangover from the beer.
- Experienced Protagonist: Has been through a murdergame before.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Is often shown resenting Krone and Eric getting to be happy together after Eric murdered Franciscus.
- Retractable Weapon: His power allows him to grow blades from anywhere on his body.
Krone
The Obtuse
Alive...for now.- Hammerspace: Her power allows her to store items in a Pocket Dimension, though it's treated like an Inventory Management Puzzle or Bag of Holding rather than a discrete spatial area.
- Hyperspace Arsenal: A lot of what Krone actually keeps in there are multiple different types of weapons.
- Only One Name: Though she goes by "Robinson" as a last name.
Eric Lecarde
The Fast
Culprit of Case 2. Alive....- Cigarette of Anxiety: Before Jun confiscated them (to his 1910s-accurate confusion), he got at least three in.
- Groin Attack: Got kicked in the groin by a partially restrained Bangladesh, and was down for the rest of that fight.
- Living Shadow: As his Nightmares level rises substantially, eventually his shadow comes to life, though it's still mostly under his control and even contributes to killing Asura.
- Please Kill Me if It Satisfies You: After the second trial, where Zelda is executed in his place, he's willing to accept being killed by the rest of the Strangers.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Among other things, he just couldn't help himself, went tapping walls looking for wall roast (just in case the house WAS a Castle), and instead met some of the less... embodied... residents.
Franciscus Erkens
The Scorching
The victim of Case 2 (Week 3).- Dying Declaration of Love: Eric shares his last words, which were to tell Osomatsu he loved him.
- Elemental Hair Colors: He's a redhead, and his assigned power is over fire.
- Experienced Protagonist: Has been through a murdergame before.
- Original Character: An original trainer character with no relationship to existing games.
- Playing with Fire: His power allows him to create and control fire.
- The Promise: Promises not to kill anyone this time, which is why he ends up fleeing instead of fighting Eric.

- Peaceful in Death: In her last moments, she saw that there were people who thought her worth fighting for, and with that, her face didn't show the pain of her end.
- Shipper on Deck: For Franciscus and Osomatsu, once she realizes she has no chance with either.
Atsuko "Akko" Kagari
The Ursa
The victim of Case 1 (Week 2).- Big Damn Heroes: Her ability is what finally freezes Bangladesh long enough for Felicity to knock her out.

Jun Ushiro

The Elder Steward (Mosquito)
- Wicked Cultured: The more refined and polite of the duo.
The Lady (Arachne)
Excalibur
- Mr. Exposition: Provides some helpful explanations on the current setting and the fact that all the Strangers now have Weapon abilities.
Asura
- Nothing Is Scarier: Type 3. That thing behind the walls, the source of everyone's nightmares... not actually seen until Emma's death.
- Your Soul Is Mine!: Kills Emma by ripping out their soul. Even though he's stopped before he can actually eat it, trying to return it does nothing to save her.
